Tell me why I'm waiting

''I can't believe you don't let your hair down anymore, is it because of him? Do you love him that much?"

"Mateo, what exactly do you want?" Alohi avoided his gaze.

"I need closure...you're still in my heart even to date." He took her hand in his but she was quick to retract it.

"We don't owe each other anything. You're just wasting your time trying to persuade me to get back with you." Alohi dejected him.

"Look me in the eye and tell me you don't love me anymore." He lifted her chin up, forcing her to make an eye contact with him.

"Mateo, we're over." Alohi muttered.

"I know," he whispered nudging closer to her. She held her breath and subconsciously closed her eyes not to feel anything but damn, he still had an effect on her. "I know we're over and we aren't supposed to feel anything for each other but I don't know what I'm feeling...why can't I just forget all about you?"

Mateo held her cheeks with both his palms and his warmth did nothing but weakened her further and she failed to keep her sanity intact. She didn't want to open her eyes and neither did he want her to do so but she found herself gauging at him.

All she could think about was his nearness, his dark eyes, his breath starring against her skin. There was a spark in his gaze now, that darkening of his eyes, something fiery and hungry, something that wanted. He hesitated for an agonizing second. Then, his head tilted down toward her. The soft skin of his lips pressed against hers and before she could register it, he was kissing her.

However, Alohi soon broke the kiss and looked at him.

"I'm afraid of you, Mateo. I'm afraid if we start seeing each other, my husband would do something bad to you. You have no idea who he is." She expressed her worries.

"That's not my concern now, can we not talk about that bastard? Kiss me." He urged her trying to divert her mind from wandering further.

"No," she said.

'Kiss me.'

"No." And then she smiled. 'You kiss me.'

He placed his hand on the back of her neck. He pulled her towards him. And he kissed her. And she kissed him. And he kept kissing her back. He then broke the kiss and whispered something in her ear that sounded like nonsense to her. He cupped her face in his hands and that time she remembered to pretend. She pulled him closer, grabbed a fistful of his Jacket and kissed him hard as she could, her fingers already attempting to release the first of his buttons. His arms strong around her, his lips soft, almost sweet against her skin. There had been an electric charge between them and she was bound to feel it even though they had broken up months back.

"Tell me why I'm waiting. Tell me my kisses doesn't make your clit throb warm for me anymore. Tell me you now belong to someone else. Tell me, I want to forget you." Mateo licked her earlobe sending wild tremors down her spine. Alohi moaned softly and tried to salvage her broken sanity and find something to tell him. One thing about her was that she never gave up easily on love. They had grew further apart and when she married Bram, she didn't expect him to be so cold and distant towards her. She felt humiliated when he made love to his long time girlfriend Blu in front of her and then acted like her presence in his life didn't matter at all.

Alohi didn't utter anything and Mateo knew she must have been through a lot and waiting for her response didn't matter at the moment. He had missed her body well enough that he wanted to pin her down on the backseat of his car, tilt the windows up and take her there. She was the reason why he booked the first flight back to Mexico, he was in dire need of her. It had been his dream to take her to Seoul where he had currently launched his Tech company but couldn't do so because she ended things between them. He didn't know the reason why until he saw her walking down the aisle with his enemy, Bram Moreno.

All that while he thought Alohi chose to be with Bram because of how rich he was but no, just father had wanted her daughter to settle down before his demise. But why didn't she chose him? He was yet to found out why Alohi suddenly ghosted him. One thing was clear though, he'd take back his woman whether Bram liked it or not.

Mateo trailed skillful kisses down her nape, tasted her, devoured her and she forced herself to think straight.

In her purse, her cell phone which was on a silent mode kept ringing several times and the person buzzing it was furious when she didn't bother picking up. He stood at the window and looked down the streets from his office window, his mind straying to wonderland. He had his worst fears, his wife was seeing her ex-lover, Mateo Dela Cruz.

Alohi unaware what was in store for her, forced herself to understand the perversion of their situation. She didn't know how to reconcile the confusion in her mind, was it Mateo or Bram? Her hesitant repulsion, her inexplicable chemical reaction to Mateo's lips. She needed to get that over with. Now. She reached for his buttons and he was unnecessarily encouraged.
