Mariana said nothing out loud, of course, but she started to seriously doubt whether the friendship of the two demonic entities was anywhere as deep and profound as Daniel apparently thought it was.
She spent the remaining day trying to figure out what was really going on inside Matt's handsome head. She was in no way, shape or form attracted to him, but in a situation like this one here, she felt like it would be good to fake such a carnal desire. Although she did not want to be overt about it, of course - she proceeded to explain her concerns to the pirate king in their shared thought space, and to her delight, Daniel took her seriously and considered her plan to be a good one, even encouraging her to flirt with the other demon man a bit so that his true intentions would make their nature known with an organic process that was the fall of every arrogant male being in history.
