He synchronized the time on the clock with that on his phone. It wasn't exactly to the second, but he could confidently assure that the difference was minimal.
Time was up.
He knew the alarm on the Dog's phone had gone off, time was of the essence, there were many tasks to complete, and there could be no delay, or it would become extremely difficult to accomplish them.
He pushed open the door and quickened his pace; he was familiar with the route and didn't need to stop. He knew what the first task was, then what came next—the order was always the same. Previously, he always took his time, but now he just wanted to scream, "Faster, faster, faster... I need to be even faster, there's absolutely no room for delay."
