Chapter 36: The Wrong Gambit
Ford charged at William, sword in hand, then slashed in the air, causing a beam of light to come rushing towards William, who didn't seem bothered by it at all.
The light beam had dissipated. William couldn't help but let out a laugh "been training for 5 years and still can't grasp the power? How pathetic". Suddenly, Ford was picked up by William, using a telekinesis ability, which immediately confused Ford
"Huh? Telekinesis?" William heard what Ford has said, and responded with "yes! You see, the spirit I'm contracted to is.. special"
Ford screamed of anger as he slashed in the air again, causing another light beam to come rushing at William. The light beam had reached William this time, causing an explosion.
William had come out of the attack unscathed, as he laughed, but said nothing, except "now die" as Ford was tossed head first into a wall behind him.

Ford slowly opened his eyes, as he realized "no.."
"Now die" Ford was tossed head first into a wall behind him.

Ford slowly opened his eyes, in the same place as before. "No..no...no..."

"Stop...Stop this!" Ford let out a scream as he was tossed head first into the wall.

He opened his eyes, in the same spot as before. He started to freak out, but before he could let out a scream--

He was terrified.. there was no way of breaking out of this endless loop of death he was stuck in...

Ford slowly opened his eyes, and didn't freak out. He experienced the same death 20 times now.
Over...and over...and over...and over...and over...and over...and over again.

He began to give up, as he realized he might be stuck forever, experiencing the same pain with no end.
Then, a thought came to his mind. He had to form a light sword to stop himself from hitting the wall, but he only had about 5 seconds to do so, which wasn't enough time.
Ford had truly given up. He faced the reality that he wouldn't be able to stop this death loop.
When suddenly, this next loop was different from the others before. Rae, Arias' contract spirit, had come.
Ford widened his eyes as he saw Rae. Shocked at how different this loop was playing out.
Rae then shot a gust of wind straight at William, causing him to lose control, freeing Ford from the endless loop of death. Ford wasn't happy, as he approached William, who was still on the floor, with his light sword.
He approached William, and without saying anything, cut off his head. Before William was decapitated, he muttered the words "I didn't think you'd actually come to save her"
After William was killed, Ford would say "looks like you made the wrong gambit." Then, he turned around, and said to Rae, "Now, let's go save Arias."
"But first, let's help Rallden" Ford walked out of the throne room, but before he could react... A blade was shot right at his left eye. Ford fell to his knees, screaming of agony.
He ripped the blade out of his eye socket, and used a match to burn the wound, before wrapping a bandage around his eye.
Then he got up, resisting the pain as much as he could, and said "let's go.. Rae"
Ford and Rae then walked out of the throne room, to notice a window broken at the nearby cathedral.
