The Princess

Layla and I were on our way to the palace wondering what we would do if things went south. They could easily trap us there if our suspicions turned out to be true.

"Sir, how are we to respond?" She asked.

"Take their side. I can't risk us becoming targets right now. We have to pretend that we are on their side and befriend them. Right now I do understand their side but killing people over it is against my own morals. We have to find a way to deal with things in a civil manner."

But suddenly, we got teleported somewhere unknown. It was a grassland with no life to be seen. Just then we felt an arrow rushing towards us, the two of us jumped away but then were sucked in some sort of whirlwind and crashed into each other.

Layla and I took a stance as this individual definitely wants to fight us. But then another arrow came charging towards us. Layla quickly grabbed the arrow but again a whirlwind was formed around the arrow sucking me in and making me crash into Layla again.

"What- is this wind magic?" I asked and Layla nodded.

"The whirlwind is too strong so I doubt we can escape it. We can't even use brute force. Whoever this person is knows how to battle using bow and arrow. Also this is unusual but we are slowly becoming weakened to wind magic."

"Weak?! How?"

"Can't tell the exact mechanic but we will take more damage the next time this attack comes charging at us. Whoever created this magic has absurd amount of knowledge of wind magic and its applications."

I put forth a shield to protect ourselves from next attack but instead a tornedo came charging towards us. We obviously jumped away but it just stopped in its tracks and a sudden pulse of wind magic pushed us away from the tornedo and it started circling around us periodically making strong wind gusts throwing us around and making us weaker and weaker to wind magic.

Layla seemed completely unfazed but I'm not invincible like her. I need to be more careful. This is bypassing my shield.

Just then the tornedo started expanding and created what seemed like a wall of strong wind magic making it impossible for anyone to leave. A crack appeared in the wall and in came a young woman wearing a white dress holding a bow that looked different from anything I had seen so far. Her most distinct feature was her light blue hair tied in two pigtails.

"The origin really had the audacity to exit her dungeon after what the primordial one and all the gods did?" She aimed her bow at Layla.

"You think you can kill me?" She asked.

"Nope but I sure can try as crown princess of Munioko. People have been suffering ever since that monster came into existence and took everything from my people. YOU took everything! And now we are here underground away from the land that is rightfully ours!" She launched the arrow and it landed on the ground in front of Layla.

"Can't even aim properly?" Layla asked but the princess just smirked before a massive tornedo erupted from the arrow catching Layla off-guard.

I checked the princess' status and she was level 50. Her attack stat was just shy of 1,500 but what was interesting was her magic mastery. It was over 1,000. Basically any attack Layla uses will cause a gale reaction like the tornedo becoming a firenado. She has to just endure the attack. I took out Polaris and shot an arrow in her direction but she dodged it.

"You are?" She asked.

"Her master. She is my maid so I have to protect her rightfully." I responded. Telling her I was the apostle is basically asking to be killed.

"Lord? Hah! The origin is now a maid?! You deserve to be treated as less than even an animal."

I pulled out offering blade from the sheath and charged at her but she raised her hand and suddenly a strong gust of wind came from above me making me fall flat on ground. The pressure was so much that I couldn't even stand.

Layla used brute force to get out of the tornedo and charged at the princess who couldn't dodge the attack and was tackled. The tackle was enough to knock her out. I stood up and checked if my joints and bones were okay. They were.

"She is the princess? I wouldn't be surprised if they are using the drugs and researching and developing them for war against the human countries." I sighed as the lady stayed knocked out of the ground.

"We should be wary of them. This is a really complex situation." Layla pointed out but due to the intense history behind them, I had a hard time keeping up with everything and I was already starting to forget the difference between gods and primordial, who were the sovereign dragons, the wars and the two worlds.

"Wait- Bring me up to date... why is this world upside down? How did that happen?"

"You want the process of how it happened or why it happened?"

"Process."

"The four gods sealed away this world and used the inside of this planet to create a new world basically. They created everything from scratch but since insides of the planet is significantly hotter than outside, they are using their powers to sustain the world. Soon, this power would become weak and they would have to merge the two worlds. By using you, they plan to unseal this 'world' and merge the population."

"What was the point of segregation? Why not kill everyone? Feels like a roundabout way of doing things." I asked.

"Gods themselves do not indulge to keep their 'neutral' stance. The war was not directly waged by gods against non-human races. Humans were simply told that those races needed to be exterminated as they were inferior and corrupted. Humans are made to feel like what they did was under free will but what really is free will? So called will is manufactured. Humans would never question their gods just as how they don't question their parents. It means doubting some of the basic foundations of society and people don't want it challenged. It would be like accepting that there is someone wrong about system in place. Gods understood that very well and created an intricate plan that is going to backfire. I preferred being sealed in this world than to participate with their scheming selves."

"Humans are the closest relatives to the origin...? How true is that?"

"We are part of origin but we do not know what the origin looked like. We can not say for sure what is the basis for such an assertion. It could very well be made up."

The issue was becoming more and more complex with every new information. The upside down world had possession of some deadly drugs which could definitely work in their favor if they are developed and researched further for a few years.

The princess starts to wake up but is immediately hostile towards us as she picked up her bow and aims it towards me.

"I'm not an enemy. I'm just trying to figure things out so, please at least listen to me." I said. I told her all about being summoned and being apostle of the gods and then how I found out about this world and its history. She listened diligently while still aiming the bow at me. At the end, she placed her bow down and stood up.

"Unfortunate... I must say. I apologize for attacking as we are all quite angry at what happened to our world but... but to rip someone away from their homes for selfish reasons and personal incompetency. Humans are just as useless and arrogant as always. Ah! Regardless, I'm Amina. Crown princess of kingdom of Munioko."

She sounded just as passionate. It's little surprise too given their history.

"I'm Kara. I was a student before coming here." I responded.

"May I ask why the origin... I mean Layla became your maid?"

"She liked my cooking, that's it." I responded while awkwardly laughing.

"It must be of royal quality for her to behave in such manner." Amina said as she clasped her hands.

I just laughed awkwardly as I didn't know how to react since she almost killed me earlier and now we were being buddies. It was clearly a misunderstanding but still it was scary.

"Well... before I say anything... Layla here. If she acts up, kill her." I handed Layla the offering blade. "Tell me everything you know about the drugs being smuggled and if we find anything off about the royal family, we will take care of all of you. Drugs is where I draw the line and if you're any how connected, I will make sure you suffer just as much as your victims."

I was a psychology student after all. I studied these topics in extensive details and met with drug addicts at hospitals where I worked as intern at times. I had a soft spot for people with drug addictions. I always somehow saw them victims of circumstances and firmly believed that these people deserved a better life. If Amina or any of her relatives are involved, I would not hesitate to destroy them.

"Drugs?" She looked puzzled.

"She is not aware of the situation." Layla said.

"And how do you know?"

"I can read minds."

I quickly turned around to look at her. This woman is... Y'know what... forget it.

"Put the sword away." I told Layla and then informed Amina about everything that had unfolded in the city.

She was furious once she had found out and picked up her bow and started marching back to the city but I stopped her.

"It's best if we don't. Taking such impulsive actions might backfire. Let's confirm the information first and then..."

"Fine..." She sighed and hung her bow on her backpack.

"We have to not let the royal family find out since you didn't know, there is a chance some important figures don't either and it could put them at risk too. Our goal is to find facility that develops these drugs and then find out who are behind this entire racket."

"But Kara, we are here to train." Layla said.

"Yes but we would have to find some goons too, right? That counts are training, right?" I smiled and so, I made a new reliable team mate.

Sorry for such delay, had finals and I'm done. I'll continue updating often as before and re-do 'In my two worlds' in mean time.
