7. Breakthrough! Minor Thunder Tribulation
After coming home for the weekend Yin hurried to find butler Yang. After some (minor) convincing and (major) emotional blackmail, she managed to force him to take her to a secluded hill away from the city. After telling him to keep a safe distance She meditated from Friday evening to Sunday night before finally comprehending the final step. Suddenly ba bright blue halo burst around her forming illusionary bridge between heaven and earth, then a holy looking light descended, shining on her dantian area. After 10 minutes the light receded and Yin could feel her dantian transforming, gaining the ability to regenerate.
As soon as she felt the changes finish, the sky turned black, heavy with thunderclouds slowly piling above her head. After 5 minutes her tribulation started, With three loud *CRACK*s she got hit by thunder of the Minor Tribulation three times. After the sky cleared she turned to butler Yang, completely unperturbed by her charred clothes and said:
- Butler Yang, my breakthrough is finished. Let's go home. But first you have to promise me to smuggle me to shower so that Mom doesn't see my charred clothes.
Butler Yang after pondering a bit decided not to bother trying to understand what just happened and just follow Young Miss's wishes.
After returning home and taking a shower Yin was about to head into her room to digest her gains from the tribulation, when she overheard her brother talking to himself. She decided to eavesdrop in case his MC syndrome got him in trouble. Unfortunately her hunch was right. Her brother was used by a girl he had feelings for to gain resources and now that a Young Master took fancy to her, she was about to drop the charade and probably get Long Tian in conflict that would end badly for him. However the conflict seemed to stagnate as if the Heaven itself was waiting for a day when she couldn't protect her brother. After meditating on it and deciding she doesn't have strength to oppose fate yet she went to her room to check her cultivation base.
After feeling around she was pleasantly surprised. Apparently the thunder formed by pure Astral Qi left some residue in her dantian that allowed her so start slowly getting used to Astral Qi. This was a huge boon as usually this was something that only happened after Mortal Transcendence stage. The remaining energy of tribulation was enough for her to reach Stage 2 of Qi Gathering.
Another boon of reaching Qi Gathering Realm was that finally a whole 1% of her bloodline was unsealed, which meant she gained access to her affinities. Her cultivation was too weak to make use of them, but she could start inventing spells and skills for the future. With a happy sigh she decided that was enough training for the day and went to sleep.
Her Tyrranical Dragon Body Tampering Art also became stronger as from Qi Gathering onwards it was synergistic with her cultivation art, meaning that whenever her Qi cultivation advanced she just had to run the Body Tampering Art to catch up.
When she woke up early next morning Liu started to analyze her current situation and her plans moving forward.
'Qi Gathering is easy. With the rooms at school so long as I hold scholarship I should be able to advance every 2-3 months. The time between can be used for body cultivation as it only requires my Qi reserves.'
The Realm corresponsing to Qi Gathering Realm of Qi cultivation for Body Tampering was Body Purification. It required you to use Qi to force impurities out of your body, which increased talent and slightly strengthened purified body parts.
'Techniques are a problem. With my affinities I'll have to adapt anything I learn for use of those energies. I'll have to mainly focus on Astral and Space affinities, as those should be easiest to use when low on power'
Gathering her thoughts she stood up and prepared for another school day. Ever since news of her scholarship came out aside from exchanging greeting with Di Sen she became a loner because other students felt like they were from different worlds and were too intimidated to engage in a conversation with her.
'Sigh, nothing I can do. Time to go'
And with that thought she left her room for another school day.
