Divine Power

"...!!"

As she was watching Alex play with his magic, rather practice, Liza suddenly stood up dumbfounded after he literally mimicked the same golden energy she used before.

Her reaction made it clear he isn't supposed to be able to use it in the first place!

But taken back when she was possessing his body, Liza was the one in charge of using magic and his body was just as a host for her to cast and channel her powers, but as time went by, he was getting too familiar with it and he was able to use it too on his own.

But that was very hard and almost impossible, as he was just a normal human, and humans aren't supposed to use magic.

Liza definitely didn't expect him to be able to generate a high-tier magic just like that and play with it in his hand. She had to ask in disbelief!

"H-How are you able to do that?! That's exclusive just for pure-blooded succubi..."

With wide open eyes, Liza approached while only ogling at his hand, which was glowing all around with a golden mystical energy.

Apparently, only a certain number of succubuses can use such powers. The same applies for incubi as the two have the same roots.

"What? This...? It's draining a lot of energy, but I don't feel it's that powerful"

Looking at the stunned Liza and checking his glowing hand back and forth, unlike other spells like fire or wind, the golden energy didn't feel that intimidating, rather it was peaceful.

He did remember that Liza showcased how strong it was against the hooded mage, but in his hand, it felt weaker.

Still, it was worth shocking the succubus to the core.

"Yes, it's weaker. B-But you shouldn't be able to use it in the first place! How could this have happened?..."

Liza slowly recovered from her shock and regained her composure, scanning his hand from all angles while pondering with a hand on her chin.

She had no idea if it was a normal or an abnormal thing he could use such powers, as she had never possessed a human or a different creature before.

Additionally, the two were spiritually close to each other, while she resided in his body, which could be an explanation for the effortless flow of powers between them, including the divine energy.

Alex used her magic before, as well as she used his. Or perhaps it could because of the kind of ritual done when he transformed into an incubus. No one could tell how he acquired this energy.

"I have no idea, but doesn't this look too heaven-like and righteous? I thought you are demonic succubus, not an angel"

The energy was just pure and peaceful as if he summoned it from heaven itself. The question was how a pure-blooded succubi should be having such energy? Alex was impatiently looking for answers.

Similarly, Liza was having a hard time trying to think of a way to clearly explain everything.

"Uhm... That's because we are descant of angels and demons... I know it might sound odd, but hear me out. At the beginning there were only demons and angels"

The succubus let out a sigh and paused for a second, before she continued with the story.

"As known, the two creatures hate each other and are enemies, but of course, there has to be exceptions. In short, succubuses were born as a result of passionate lust between an angel and a demon"

Liza's cheeks blushed a little and she averted her eyes away for a second. His fixated gaze was piercing into hee heart and couldn't properly focus. However, Alex was too intrigued with the story to enjoy her spiking cuteness.

"Uhm so you're saying, succubuses were born because of lust between angels and demons? But no offense... We look more like demons than angels"

Obviously, it was a bit strange to know he now has relation to angels as well as demons as an incubus. But recalling the bat-like wings, horns and creepy devilish faces, there was no angelic features at all!

"That's because it's exclusive to pure-blooded not everyone can do that... You can tell by the hair color too"

Liza uttered while brushing her silver silky hair with her fingers.

"I have silver hair and angels are always born with pure white hairs. Rose is a half-half, so she is somehow born blonde. For you, like most normal incubi, you still have your darker hair... So yes, I'm one more closer to being an angel than you~"

It was making more sense by just telling the difference with hair colors. The lighter the color the more likely to associate with the divine light-born creatures, while darker colors imply the opposite.

"That's just an easy way to tell, not always true"

Still, it just assumptions, the hair color varies even between average succubi and incubi. Still, no ordinary one is born with a silver hair as Liza.

"Understood, but I will have to see it for myself in the future. But basically, I get that you are— no we are born from sex between a demon and an angel? But only pure-blood inherit these divine powers?"

Fortunately, the succubus explaination was on point and Alex understood the most important parts.

"In short, yes. It's very exclusive, but I'm glad you can also use it, although it's weird. It can provide great advantage against demons"

Liza deeply examined his hands a couple times more, before she raised her head and nodded smilingly at him. Seeing her smile made him at ease.

The golden energy soon disappeared as he couldn't maintain it for longer, despite being too mana-consuming, it was some kind of a trump card against devilish demons.

"But it's also a curse! So better not use it carelessly. Haaa~ It's one of the reasons I was going to be expelled for. Lucifer knows I have these powers"

It made more sense now why Liza was attacked by the demons in the first place and had to escaped to Earth. She is still searched for by Tony and his allies.

The main reason he could have inherited this energy from Liza was still a mystery and none of them could exactly know how, but surely it would bring loads of problems in the future as well as solutions...
