CHAPTER 9
Outside of a modern medieval style mansion, ten black Chevrolets were parked in the mansion's front yard. A middle-aged couple were waiting at the front door of the house.
The men got out of the cars. As soon as the couple recognize their son, Raynier. They rushed forward to greet him with a tight hug.
" My son. My son, it's good to see you back." Madam Zheng cried out.
"Honey, you should stop hugging our son. Let him go inside the house first. Take him to eat food that you've been preparing or let him rest. He's been through a lot, so let him adjust."
Madam Zheng ushered her son to go inside the house however, Raynier Zheng stopped and looked at them.
" Are you really my parents? I mean... I just wanted to be sure because someone is trying to kill me." He asked just to be sure.
The mister and the madam looked at each other, knowing how confused their son was all this time. Madam Zheng felt hurt at the thought of her son forgetting about them. They were both worried about the idea of someone coming after their son.
" Of course, I am your mother and he is your father. You've been through a lot, son." Pointing at her husband as she introduced herself and her husband.
" Mother, Father, I..." Raynier talked but it's hard for him to express properly his emotions and what's going on his mind right now.
" It's alright son, take your time to adapt. There's no need to pressure yourself into remembering the memories that you have forgotten."
They entered the house and Madam Zheng asked the maid to prepare a bath and clothes for her son. When Raynier Zheng finished his bath, he went down the stairs and met his parents again as they ushered him to the dining area.
On top of the dining table, they prepared a lot of dishes. Looking at the luxurious dishes... Raynier thought about all the suffering he had when he was in the Mystical World. Over there, if he doesn't hunt, he won't eat for a night in the forest. He can't even eat peacefully or take his time because, anytime, there are beasts lurking around ready to pounce on him, or the Almighties just anyhow take him away without any notice.
His soul is tearing with happiness because he is so glad that everything about the Mystical Realm has ended already. He savoured his food and ate it like there's no tomorrow.
Madam Zheng took her time to be with her son. Everything is like a dream to her. She still can't believe that her son is with her already.
"Ahem. Raynier, you've been in a coma for a year and also missed your studies-"
" Alexander Zheng, our son just got home and now you're talking about going school!?! Dare to take him away when we've been just gotten together. You should ask him to take a rest first." Madam Zheng said sternly to her husband.
"Honey, no need to tell my whole name and the next semester will be starting next month. You still have time to accompany each other."
" Oh?! So you are excluding yourself when you said that I can accompany my son!?!"
" Ho-Honey, it's not what you think. We will spend together. How can I consider that thought!? If you tell me to go South, will I have the guts to go North? No."
" Good. It's good that you never considered that. Then, tomorrow will be a plan already."
"What is the plan tomorrow, honey?"
"It will be our family outing. We should celebrate that our son is finally with us already."
The only thought of Raynier is never ever make her mother angry. The thought of his mother taming his father to be docile is kind of hilarious and frightening at the same time. He concluded that he needed to cozy up with his mother to always be safe.
Next day...
Alexander Zheng and Raynier Zheng were ready as soon as the morning came. Both father and son combo were waiting for their queen to come out. They set out after they finished their breakfast.
Their first destination is one of the most luxurious clothing shops. Madam Zheng ordered some tailored clothes for her son and bought some ready-made clothes that he could wear first.
When they finished their motive, or should we say Madam Zheng's motive... they go to the next shop. It is where they can buy some accessories.
Good thing, Mister Zheng came prepared. He ordered a lot of security guards to follow them. He asked his men to carry the shopping bags.
"Honey, Aren't we finished yet, are we?"
" We haven't finished the itinerary that I made yet, honey."
After hearing what Madam Zheng said, they had an indescribable look on their faces. Never ever let a Minerva Zheng plan a trip or anything that's thought about, but they can't rebut. The best thing to do is to comply and commit themselves.
"Mom, should we go and eat for lunch already? I'm quite hungry already." Raynier said as he wanted to relieve himself from his mother's shopping spree.
" Alright, we should go to the restaurant. I booked a place already."
Everyone is pleased to have a break from their Queen's shopping spree. Alexander Zheng was proud of his son when he talked because he had no guts to do so.
Love is not an easy thing or, he should say, his father's love is a complicated thing; that was Raynier thought as he saw his parents.
