10: The Founding Gathering 1/2

The next day came along and it was time for the founding gathering.

This gathering happens once a year and it celebrates the founding of the country. Most of the nobles gather in one place to celebrate this event in the royal capital.

While some of the nobles under or at the marquis rank were arriving, the dukedom of Holt will arrive in thirty minutes because of ranking considerations. Alexander was wearing a light blue and white three piece suit. 

30 minutes later..

The Duke Holt has arrived! Everyone looked towards the door when the guard spoke those words because they heard that the youngest of the Holt family, Alexander Holt who was apparently making his second appearance ever and his first in the capital.

Nobody outside of the family has seen or heard from him at any point over the last ten years.

When they turned they saw all the people they normally see plus one.

The last man had light blue eyes and hair that seemed to glisten like pure ice.He stood at two meters tall being one of the tallest there despite being fifteen years old. He had a mature aura that was calm as a sea, but could become a raging torrent or huge tidal wave at any moment.

That, was Alexander Holt.

Alexander walked up to some old friends of his and said " Hey Zoey, Finn. It's been a while."

"Where have you been Alex? I know it said you were sick but... I'm not sure I believe that. We both know if you really did get sick you could just reverse the time of your body." Zoey responded and Finn nodded to what she said.

"Yeah you're right. You see...." Alexander went on to whisper why he was gone for the past ten years and continued to ask a question. "Where are Claire, Aiden and Liam?"

"Well you see Claire and Liam are over there talking to various people and Aiden isn't here. Over the last ten years, he quit magic at age eleven and he won't listen when we ask him to use his talents better so we gave up a few years ago. Last time I saw him was the banquet of the twelve northern families and he was not in good shape." Finn said with a somber voice.

Later he talked to Claire and he figured out that they are all training hard and are going to be testing for the best school for adventuring; Pentagram academy.

"The Royal Family has arrived!" The guard yelled. Alexander went to the front of the room to see if he could see Ivy and there she was. She walked over to him as well.

"Hey Ivy." Alexander said with a blush.

"Hey Alex." Ivy also said with a blush. After that there was silence for a while until Alex broke it.

"Sorry I haven't come to visit you at all in ten years." Alexander felt bad about it. 

"Well.. I guess it's okay. But don't do it ever again." Ivy responded while looking away. Alexander sighed feeling good that she didn't harbor resentment towards him.

"Oh trust me. I won't." 

"Good. Now, I assume you are going to the academy." Ivy said without giving it much thought. She felt that Alex truly wanted to spend time with her as her fiancee. 

"Yes. I am." Before they could continue talking though Alex felt three gloves hitting his back.

They said" As the first son of count Craig, Corey Craig, the second son of marquis Favian, Ken Favian, and the first son of duke Sorione, Heath Sorione we each challenge you to a one on one duel!"
