Refusing To Take Responsibility

'Why is she trying so hard to hide his identity from me?' The older brother's frown deepened as he watched her mull over that simple question he had asked earlier.

To mention the name of the man who had gotten her pregnant was such a cumbersome task for her?

He refused to believe this and hence assigned the entire blame on the man who must have wronged her which was making it hard for her to even reveal his identity.

While he was still cursing the man who had caused this mess, his eyes widened when the name and face of a certain somebody came to his mind.

"Is it that… David's child?" He inquired in a low voice, doing his best to suppress the rage bubbling within him right now.

The moment this name had appeared in his mind, he reprimanded himself for not thinking of that man before.

If there was anyone close to his baby sister then this imbecile named David would be the one.

Therefore, learning that she had gotten pregnant but failed to reveal the name of the father, the one he doubted the most was none other than David.

After all, the two had been friends since they were children but as an elder brother, he had always felt that this person was a little too close to his sister, Chansey.

'I warned her to stay away from him…' He sighed and regretted not being vigilant enough as now things had gotten to the point of no return.

If David truly was the father of this child then there was only one thing left to do.

The scum would have to take responsibility for what had happened.

'But he should get thrashed before we move to that point.' He added once he recalled that the father had not shown up until now.

This only implied that David had left his sister after having his fun and no longer wished to bear the consequences of his foolish actions.

This reminder made him grit his teeth and soon he began planning how he would teach that man a lesson for trying to mess with their family's treasure.

However, his plan came to an abrupt halt when he heard a screech coming from the little woman lying on the large hospital bed.

Rising his head in a flash, he caught the sight of her flushed but panicking face.

This sight made him frown once again at her exaggerated reaction which only worked in increasing the probability of David being the one who truly deserved the beating of his lifetime.

Unfortunately, he had gotten it all wrong and the reason for the flushed face he was observing right now was due to the unspeakable thoughts that had formed in the little lady's mind.

Camille blushed when her perverted thoughts had been interrupted by her new elder brother.

However, the name she had heard coming from his mouth sent her into another bout of panic.

After all, the man he had just mentioned was none other than this body's best friend.

"Davie? No way!" She grimaced and put on a disgusted face as soon as she had regained her composure.

The memories of the steamy night with the cold male lead had caused her to lose her mind for a few moments.

However, when she saw the darkened look on her elder brother's face which indicated that he was mad right now, she knew that she needed to gain ahold of her emotions.

Therefore, she tossed every other thought out of her mind to focus on how she could correct the misunderstanding that he seemed to have formed in the last few seconds that she had been in a daze.

Seeing that he did not appear to believe what she had just said, Camille shook her head once again, this time with greater force to assert that she was not lying to him.

"Davie is like a brother, Brother!" She clarified his doubts while rubbing out the goosebumps that had formed on her arms when she learned that he had formed the wrong idea about her relationship with David.

Davie was a good friend to Camille and the two had been together since they had first met in middle school.

Their families were close so they had known each other for long and thus treated each other as siblings from their younger days.

Therefore, it was ridiculous that her brother had doubted Davie, whom she treated as a sibling, to be the father of the child growing inside her.

While the disgusted expression was evident on her face, she subconsciously rubbed her belly once again before a gentle smile slowly started forming on her lips.

However, when she thought of who the father was, she stiffened her lips.

'That's the male lead's child…' She reiterated to herself but had no intention of mentioning the truth of this matter to the man whose anger had not yet subsided even after her ardent rejection of Davie's involvement in her pregnancy.

However, she needed to be firm in her rejection now because if her brother's misunderstanding continued then it would lead to disastrous outcomes for a large number of people.

"Brother, did you forget that Davie loves Dani?" She rolled her eyes while disclosing the vital piece of information he seemed to have neglected.

The previous owner of this body had two best friends among the tiny group of friends she had.

Being an introvert, she could only be comfortable and open up to a small number of people.

Among them, David and Daniella were the closest to her and were also the two people whom she trusted the most in this world.

The three of them had been together since their middle school years and had never separated ever since.

The three had decided to walk different paths in life to reach the goals they had set for themselves, however, never did they lose touch with each other.

In fact, after they had joined different colleges, David had finally realized his true feelings for Daniella and thus had gone on a full offense to chase and win her over.

The two had been dating for a few years now so her elder brother's misunderstanding could lead to undesirable troubles for the lovely couple.

Therefore, she had to ensure that he would no longer doubt and blame Davie for something that he had never done in the first place.

Letting out a deep sigh, Camille calmed her mind before looking her brother right in the eye.

"Brother, the father of my baby has no idea about its existence." She decided to reveal the truth as this would be the best for everyone.
