Operation: Find 'The Kings'

After I learned the truth behind my home invasion, I began to search for what I knew would help me get revenge on Gene. I won't stop until I bring down the man especially and I know he won't stop until he gets what he wants.

According to what I have researched, the conflict between 'The Kings' and 'Death X' is really big. Ever since when Gene was not the leader of the group, there was an actual conflict between their group because of the group's conflicting goals. What 'The Kings' wants is peace and discipline, the opposite of 'Death X'.

Is it because almost all the students here at Phil University are from rich families, so the others are typical spoiled brats and lack manners? Because they have money, they think they are powerful and can trample the poor like me. But I'm so thankful that I was never bullied, I don't know if it was because of my best friend Amir. He's the top genius here at University, that's why others look up to him and respect him, but of course, not everyone thinks that way because of envy and anger that they can't beat Amir.

But aside from that, I'm not sure what's with Amir, but he gives off the impression that he's not the average person you'd meet. It's as though he's powerful on his own, even though he's not with anyone, so perhaps no one bumps into him.

"Oh? What's up and you're reading about the frat? 'The Kings and Death X Conflict? Did you do any research on them?" I turned around when someone spoke up behind me.

I noticed Avira staring at my laptop. Aside from Amir, I have other friends, such as Avira, who is equally close to me. Avira is in the same situation as I am. We are both university scholars who have had similarly bad luck in life. The main difference between us is that he was raised by caring parents.

She is the nerd type. She is an introvert who dresses, wears glasses, and is elusive to others, an introvert.

She sat next to me. "I'm looking for them because I need something from them," I said.

She looked at me curiously. "Why? Are they in arrears with you?"

I stared at her. "Do I look like the kind of person who will bump into them?"

Avira nodded. "Yes indeed, but why are you looking for them?"

"I will take revenge on Gene."

"Gene? The one chasing you? The leader of Death X? Why?" she wondered.

I nodded. I told her what happened. There was a trace of fear in her eyes when she found out what had happened. Who wouldn't be afraid?

"And I need 'The Kings' to fight that man, he only looks brave because of his dad but he is afraid of that group," I snorted in annoyance. "So if you ever see them, tell me right away, I need to talk to them."

"Uhmm... Actually," Avira looked at me hesitantly. "I-I saw them at the canteen earlier."

"What? Why did you just say it now?" Sh*t!

She pouted. "I didn't know that you were looking for them."

I frustratedly got up from my seat and ran out of the library.

"Hey! Your stuff!" I heard her say.

"You take care of that for a while, thanks!" I shouted.

"Sssssh! This rude student! Shouting at the library!" I just gave the grumpy librarian a peace sign.

We only have one Cafeteria, it's a building with three floors so it's easy to get to. That building is divided into three categories. The first floor is for the commoners or the scholars, the second floor is for VIP students, who're one step higher than us, then the third floor is for the Royal students which are mostly composed of fraternities and sororities. We were actually divided into three groups to avoid trouble due to discrimination. Well, this is also considered discrimination because of the division between us based on our state, but I much prefer it to avoid trouble.

When I got to the third floor of the cafeteria, I quickly entered there, too late to think about the consequences I would face. The people inside stopped and looked in my direction. Various organizations of frats and sororities caught my attention and one of them was 'Death X'. Unfortunately, the group I was looking for was not there.

How can you be stupid, Aalia?

I didn't even see and catch up with them, I still faced the group which was the reason why I was looking for them. I want to scold myself for not thinking ahead and being rash.

"My, my, what a pleasant morning. What is your reason for coming here? Are you looking for me? Have you changed your mind and agreed to be my girlfriend?" Gene said after approaching me.

My jaw tightened and my fist clenched, holding back from punching him. I can't act rashly and I'm in their territory.

"I will never be your girlfriend," I said emphatically.

"I see, still acting feisty, you weren't threatened?" It seems that he has no intention of hiding what he did.

I glared at him. "You will pay for what you did."

Instead of being scared, he just laughed as if what I said was a joke. "Oooohh... I'm scared. What will you do? What can you do, when you're powerless?"

"Without your father's support and the group, you are nothing, in short, a bastard." I don't know where I get my courage from, but it feels good to vent my grievances.

He was obviously affected by what I said and looked at me sharply. Instead of being afraid, I met his gaze.

"Why? Are you affected because it's true?" It seems that his anger has been unleashed and he is ready to attack me when someone suddenly blocks me.

Just smelling his perfume and just his back, I knew immediately who was the person in front of me.

"Try to hurt her, and I'll be the one you have to fight," Amir says, his voice threatening.

"So are you arrogant because of this man? Do you think this man can protect you?" Gene mockingly said.

"Stay away from her," Amir said coldly.

Gene just grinned and told Amir. "And what? What will you do if I don't stay away from her?"

No one was defeated as they exchanged glances. I noticed Amir's jaw clenching and he seemed to be losing patience. To calm him down, I grasped his hand. He tightened his hold on me as well.

"We'll see," he murmured as he yanked me away from there.
