I Fell in Love with My Master's Son

(Notice: All names, places, instances, characters, events are entirely work of fiction.) I am Mei Bai Ai, daughter of the legendary healer and warrior, Bai Ai. From a young age, I was trained in the art of medicine and combat—two skills that flow like twin rivers through my blood. My father entrusted me with a mission of utmost importance: to find a cure for an illness that has taken root in my mother. An illness even he cannot cure. As he has been banished from the imperial court for trying unconventional methods of healing, the weight of that mission has guided every step I’ve taken, every choice I’ve made. And it is what brought me here, to the country of Wu, where I now live under a false name of Lei as a mere servant. In the grand household of Master Hao Wu, the world only knows me as Lei Lai, a humble girl tasked with the daily chores that fill a servant’s life. Yet beneath this facade, I remain ever vigilant in my search for rare medicines and herbs, my father’s legacy whispering in my ear. I travel far and wide, from the bustling markets to the secluded mountains, always with the hope of finding the elusive cure that might save my mother’s life. My mission was supposed to be simple: stay hidden, serve my purpose, and keep my secrets locked away. But life, as it often does, had other plans for me. Somewhere along the way, I fell in love. Not just with the breathtaking landscapes of Wu or the wisdom found in the earth’s bounties, but with Yize Wu—the son of my master. If anyone were to learn of my true identity or discover my feelings for Yize, I would lose everything—the safety of this household, the resources I need to find the cure, and perhaps even my chance to remain close to him. But for now, I must continue this delicate balancing act, hiding behind the guise of a servant while I walk the line between duty and desire, between healing and heartbreak. One day, I will have to choose. But until that moment comes, I will continue to serve, to search, and to love in silence.

Hordes of the undead moves to the City Bei, the people locking themselves up in their houses.

The Bei soldiers near the river and the firewall rushed to the city to protect it. When they saw the undead the the Carrion Emperor's followers they screamed in fury and released their aura.

They transformed into giant humanoid wolves with gleaming fangs and claws!

Everyone was shocked! The undead, the Bei people even us were shocked!

There was nothing in the historical records that indicates that the Bei people were shapeshifters!

I guess when Master Bei said it was a secret, he wasn't joking, it was really a secret, even to his own people.

There were probably 3 thousand undead pawns in the first rush, mixed with about 2 thousand Bei defectors led by about 500 undead commanders.

The undead horde were many but they were not match for the fast moves and attacks of the Bei warriors. They don't have swords but only have torches in their hands which they use to hit the undead with. Everytime the undead was hit by the flaming torches, they would scream in pain, as fire would ignite in their body as they desperately try to remove the fire. The Bei traitors would try to stand between the undead and the Bei defenders, but the Bei defenders would nonchalantly just knock them out with a hit to the back of the head, a punch to the gut, where they will be bound and tied by others.

The undead would run to the river to remove the fire but Bei soldiers would lie in ambush restrain them by lasso throwing.

While the undead minions are easy to defeat as long as you can scare them with fire, the undead commanders and fighters are of different calibre. They fight with swords, spears and shields move fast and attack fast like a blur. The Bei warriors can match them in speed and attack power, but the problem is their stamina. The undead doesn't tire and are relentless in their attacks. The Bei warriors are having a hard time defeating them as they move in a blur, they are fast and agile and hit lick a mountain gorilla. As the fight drags on, the Bei soldiers seems to be slowing down their counter attack and are now in the defense.

Seeing their problem, we rushed and assisted them, healing those injured. Father went to Master Bei and said something to him. Master Bei then blew a horn as a signal as Father sat in a lotus near him. Bei soldiers then rushed to protect Master Bei and father in a circular testudo formation with 3 layers. They covered father in a dark cloth for some reason while covering for him.

I think I know what Father is going to do next.

I healed the injuries of the fleeing Bei soldiers while Yize protects me from attacking undead soldiers and commanders. He uses a long staff to defend me, his moves blocking and parrying every attacks thrown at him. When multiple enemies tries to attack us, the healed Bei soldiers would then assist us in defense as they were able to retreat near the firewall where they would join the others.

I am better at healing than Yize, but Yize is better than me in hand to hand and melee combat. I can't believe that in just a span of a few years, he is able to surpass me in the fighting arts. He is gifted in that regards.

Seeing that the Bei warriors are running towards the firewall, the massive horde of undead came rushing at us in full force, they left the city and focused their attack on attacking Master Bei's position and the defenders near the firewall, trying to push us into the fire.

The Bei soldiers were told to lure the enemies near the firewall which they did but at the same time they are in danger of getting overwhelmed and pushed to the firewall, still they kept their composure, gritted their teeth and remained steadfast. They know that if they fail here, not only the people of Bei would be in danger, but also the rest of the world.

The zombie hoarde attacked them in fury, determined to crush us. Another war horn sound was heard as the Bei soldiers fought back the undead furiously, their flaming torches attack a blur in the dawns red sun.

The black cloth covering father was removed, showing him in his full glory. He is covered in a great holy aura and when he opened his eyes, holy light shone forth.

The undead horde realized what's happening too late. Father released the full might of his aura which may have travelled up to the border of Wei city. With the 100 Bei soldiers channeling their energy to Father, Father was able to regain his full power and more which he released in full force.

The battle was over. The undead screamed as their bodies burned in holy light, which even the river water could not extinguish.

The common undead thrall or minions turned to dust after running and screaming around.

The undead commanders got burned as well but didn't turn to dust, as their spirit was able to withstand the holy wave. They extinguished the holy flames in their body, calculating on what to do.

They decided it would be dangerous to stay, as they do not know the extent of the Holy Man's power. If the Holy man decides to concentrate his energy wave in just their area, they would definitely turn to ash.

They jumped in the air and flew back to the temple of the Carrion Emperor which is protected by his Undead Dark Aura.

For now, the battle is over.

This event would be recorded in history as the Dawn of the Holy One. If Father was regarded as the greatest healer of his time, he would be regarded as the living Avatar of Buddha on Earth as long as people remembered him. He would be the spark of hope that would ignite the hearts of millions and would be the inspiration of future heroes.

Fathers words rang true: everyone can make a difference and no one is above others.
