Chapter 2:

ASHLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW

The next day...

I wake up earlier than my alarm clock, get up, and fix my bed before I proceed to the bathroom. I was taking a bath when I remembered what Jacob said yesterday before we went home

Flashback:

"You better behave yourself; you never know when I will choose to surprise you, babe." He winked at me and tapped my head before he walked away from me. Why was he interested in me? He never knew who I was, right? Did I catch his attention? But that's not what I want; I just came back from the U.S. to start studying and have a normal life that I never had there. Since all the attention was on me.

"Don't take it seriously about Jacob; he seems like a jerk, but the truth is that he's not. He just loves playing around since no one dares talk back at him. And his grandfather owned this school; he thinks he is a king who has the power to rule us. But I assure you of his kind; he will just tease you."

"Hey, nerd!" Nyx rolled her eyes when she heard me call her Sabrina.

"She's not a nerd; you're just boneheaded." She smirked at Sabrina, but Sabrina just rolled her eyes and smirked at us.

"You better leave my boyfriend, understood? Or else I'll make your life wretched.

"Boyfriend? The last time I checked your guy's status, Jacob said from his mouth he was "single" and he wasn't "dating" anyone! So where is the word boyfriend in that? Better think before you speak up." Sabrina looks pissed at Nyx; she gave the signal to Brynn, Samantha, and Cassie, her allies. Samantha and Cassie held Nyx's hand while Brynn pulled her hair.

"Stop that, Sabrina; I don't even have any intention to seek attention from Jacob; he's just a jerk who's compatible with a bitch." I pushed them, held Nyx's hand, and got rushed, leaving them on the floor.

"Why did you do that? I still have plans to tease her more."

"We better leave them so no more trouble comes."

"So you're not interested in me, nerd?" I turn my head and see Jacob leaning on the wall. I gulped my saliva, seeing him look serious at me.

"Tell me, you don't find me interested, even a single inch?" He fixed himself and walked towards me while I was stepping back. My back hurt when I finally realized I was at a dead end and leaned on the wall. He put both hands on the wall, looking into my eyes.

"Answer me, nerd." I just gulped as he held my chin and made me look at him.

"I said, answer me!"

"I'm not interested in you." He chuckled when he heard my answer.

"Not convincing, nerd; starting tomorrow, I'll convince you to be interested in me; better prepare yourself for everything." He left a peck of kisses on my cheeks. I saw him walk away while I was hanging in shock.

Nyx just tapped my shoulder and laughed at me.

"You better be prepared; he will do everything just to prove himself." She left me while I looked up at the sky.

"WHY!!!!!" I yelled while looking up. Some students are looking at me.

Did I do wrong in my past life? Or did I do something wrong when I was a kid? Why do I need to be his target, and not just because of it but because he wants to get my attention? I'm just a nerd who wants a simple life, right?

I pull myself up from my bed. I don't want to go to school, even though it's just the second day. I felt there was something wrong with it.

"Ashlynn, get up!" A knock on my door from my brother

"I will; are you going now?"

"Yes, I need to go to school early today; I have something to do."

"Fine, I'll drive myself."

"Look whose parking slot you're taking, okay?" I heard what you did yesterday."

"You better not continue any single word of it, brother!"

"Fine, if you say so, I'll leave now. Okay, nanny Alma is waiting for you."

"Okay, I'll just take a bath before I go down."

"Fine, bye, lilies." After fixing my bed, I went to my bathroom and took a shower.

Fast forward...

I was fixing my tie and hair before I went out of my room. I saw Nanny Alma preparing my pancake.

"Good morning, Nanny Alma."

"Good morning, Ashlynn, I heard from your brother what happened yesterday; are you sure you still want to come to school? It's not like in the U.S.; here in Seoul, it's kind of different."

"I'm fine Nanny, don't worry about me; I can take care of myself. I'll assure you that."

"Fine, just make sure you always take care of yourself."

"I will," I said and eat my pancake, I look at my wrist watch I only had thirty minutes, I drink straight my milk and took another piece of pancake, and went out rush. I took my car keys to my bag and drove fast to the school.

Exactly fifteen minutes before the class start I arrive at the school. I park my car and went out running in the hallway. Shit!

I saw Jacob leaning on the wall outside our room. Fuck! Why was my luck not working this time? I pretend I didn't see him and walked through his way; I wasn't far from him when he suddenly held my bag.

"Where are you going, nerd?"

"Who's talking? Is there a bad element here?" As long as I pretended I didn't hear him, it was a bad idea. He turned me toward him and leaned me against the wall.

"Who do you think you are to ignore me, huh?" He put his hands on both sides of the wall. I try to sneak up on him, but he follows me. I just gulped and avoided eye contact with him.

"So you continue ignoring me, huh, then?" He abruptly carried me into our room, where all of our classmates were watching. He sat me in my chair. To my embarrassment, I put my head down and covered it with my bag. I heard him chuckle.

"You got her down, bro." I heard Lance laughing while he was chuckling and heard him pull his chair over and sit beside me. Please do something.

"Tsk! Can you stop teasing her, Jacob?" I hear Nyx say I was about to look up when I hear his answer.

"No, until she said I was attracted to her." Oh, this is all about that? How can he be attractive in that way? If he's torturing me in that kind of way.

"Good morning, class. What happened to Ms. Sparks?" I heard Ms. Sky. I looked up and fixed myself.

"Sorry, miss, something just happened." --"

"I carried her to the classroom; she was just shy." Jacob answered I felt all the blood come to my cheeks; am I burning?" Ms. Sky, look at me and fix her books.

"Okay, stop teasing around, bring out your iPad, open the PDF file I sent, and read Chapter 2 in Body Composition. Please read it loud, Ms. Solace." Nyx stood up and read the meaning of the body composition.

"Body composition is the term used in the fitness and health community to refer to the percentage of fat, water, bone, muscle, skin, and other lean tissues that make up the body." I was taking down notes when I saw a crumpled paper on my table.

'Look at me, or else I will shout your secret.' Tsk! As if he knew. I ignored him and just focused on the discussion. Another crumpled piece of paper landed on my table.

'So you're sure about ignoring me, huh?' I heard a creak in his chair, and I suddenly looked into his eyes. I see him smirking at me and coming closer with his face to mine.

"Don't you ever ignore me again, did you understand? Once I call you, you better look at me."

"Fine, can you let me now focus on the discussion?"

"No." He held my hand while reading on his iPad. Is he doing this?

"Ms. Spark!" I heard Ms. Sky call me, and I slowly turned my head and saw her mad.

"Pay attention to my class; read page 4, paragraph five." I try to let go of his hand, but he tightens his hold on it.

"Can't you hear me? I say, " Read page 4, paragraph five, Ms. Spark. "Why are you not standing?" Fuck him! I get up, and all of them see his hand holding mine.

"So, in the middle of my discussion, you focus on having a date with Mr. Pierce. You two, get out of my classroom!"

I heard his friend teasing him, like he was enjoying it with a smirk on his face. Fuck him. Did he think I wanted it? We are here outside of the classroom, sitting on the floor. Because of him, I went out of the classroom for the first time. Some students were walking through the pathway, looking at us.

He put his head on my shoulder. How come he can sleep like this?

"Is that Jacob sleeping on her shoulder?" A girl said to her friend

"Yeah, is she the new student in Class A1?"

"Yeah, she is; why was she here with Jacob then?"

"Let's ask later."

And now I'm the focus of the gossip; if it weren't for this guy, I would never be the center of attraction.

"Can you stop breathing?" He whispers Is he out of his mind? I stop breathing? Do you want me to die?

"Can you stop annoying me for a second?"

"No." He said that and hugged me while he was sleeping on my shoulder. Please floor me now. All the students stop in front of us.

"What's happening here?" Ms. Sky went out of the classroom.

"Ms. Spark and Mr. Piercee, go to the guidance office now!" Shook! I hate you, Pierce, so much.

On the way to the guidance office, this stupid guy kept whistling at me. He was chill because he was the grandson of the owner of this school. How about me, huh? Ms. Sky, knock on the door of the guidance office.

"Come in!"

"Good morning, ma'am. I have here Mr. Jacob Piercee and Ms. Ashlynn Spark."

"What's the matter, here? Please sit down."

"These two had PDAs not just in my class but even when they went out of the classroom. Mr. Pierce was holding Ms. Spark in my class, and when they got out, he was hugging her with his head on her shoulder." Mrs. Taylor put her hand on the table.

"Not because you're the grandson of the owner of this school, you will be exempt from punishment. To tell you, Mr. Pierce, it's just the second day of a new school year, and you're here again. Last year, how many times did you come here to my office? If you're not bullying your schoolmates for some unbelievable reason, you're here because you had some PDA with those admirers. How great is that now?

"But, Mrs. Taylor."

"No more, but Ms. Spark, do it or you guys will be detained. Did you understand?"

"Yes, Mrs. Taylor."

"You can go back to your class now. You two, Ms. Sky I see you on Friday." How lucky of me!
