It already has been 5-6 days since Opal has started living in the hostel. She had blended a lot with the vibes here, yet there were still some things that bother her. Like right now, she had been struggling with her dirtied clothes.
She never had the idea that the manual work of servants could be this much hard.
"Layla" she called her with an embarrassed look on her face.
"Hmm…"
Opal closed her eyes and poured her request out "Can you help me with these dirtied clothes?" She, the second miss of the Jin family, never thought that she would ask someone to help her wash the clothes.
"Huh…?" Was she really not washing a single piece of clothing until today? Layla exerted pressure on her brain and realized that firstly Opal brought too much of clothes with her and secondly, she was giving them for laundry.
"Sure. Grab your clothes, bucket and detergent." Layla was going to teach her the rules of washing clothes with hands.
…
Opal came out with a huge smile on her face declaring that she has won a battle.
With a good mood, she checked the time and shocked to see it was a four in the evening. "Oh, my gaawd…" she screamed.
This irritated Layla a little. Nevertheless, she asked her without saying any temper, "What happened?"
"I-I promised to meet Caleb today, but…" It looked like she was about to cry. "… I'm looking horrible. How can I go out looking like a clown?"
"Appointed time…?"
In response, she raised her open palm.
*sigh* Just how much time does it takes her to get ready?
Since, Lani was not in the room at the moment, only she could help her. "Wait" With this, Layla took her phone and started doing something.
"By the way, you chose the wrong day." Her meaning was that since today is Sunday then it would be crowded for a date.
But her words sounded different in Opal's ear. She felt that Layla was criticizing her as she chose to do something she doesn't know how to on the day of her date. This dampened her mood further. She wasn't even paying attention to the call Layla made, but sulking all by herself.
"Do you have money?" Layla felt this question absurd in her own ears but she still chose to ask just to be double sure.
Opal bit her lip and nodded her head.
Layla took her answer and ended the call after replying. "She's coming."
"Huh…?"
Before Opal could say anything else, someone came. It was Natasha.
Placing her hands on hip, she said, "So, who needs my help?"
Layla pointed at Opal answered, "She."
Natasha rubbed her hands, her eyes were gleaming and asked to Opal "Young lady, tell me what you want: make-up, hairstyling or both."
Opal couldn't answer her as she was confused at the current development. 'Layla called her, why? And, why she's asking me such a question?'
When she didn't reply, Natasha turned to Layla. Seeing this, Layla sighed. She should have explained her clearly.
"Opal, Nat is here to provide her service. She can help you with makeup and hairstyle according to your need and wishes. She is quick and good at this. She's not a certified professional but it's like a small business of hers within the hostel."
Opal nodded her head in understanding. "I have my own products. And, I would like you to assist me with both." Right now, this was the best option for her.
After that both Natasha and Opal were busy with the latter's hair.
Natasha divided her hair into two sections. She took the upper section and made a bun with it. Then for the remaining hair, she let them loose. Doing hair didn't take much time as Opal's hair were in good condition, plus Natasha was also quick with her hands.
Next it was the turn for her makeup. Opal brought her makeup kit out which blinded Natasha's eyes. They all were expensive and customized products. 'Who is she in the world that can spend so much on makeup?'
She gulped and tried to control her fast-beating heart.
She cleaned Opal's face from any dust and oil. Then started applying makeup as per requested by her. Opal wanted a simple look which would not make her face neither too flashy nor too dull yet refreshing.
Opal looked at the reflection in the mirror. "You are really good at makeup."
"Of course." She accepted the compliment proudly.
All of sudden, Layla spoke "When you go out just don't talk too much."
"No prob". She thought to herself, 'So, she knew. Well, its not surprising for roommates to know one or two things more than others.'
After everything was done, Opal requested her to help her with choosing an outfit too. Natasha agreed. But after seeing the name of a top brand on her simple looking dresses, she couldn't help but wondered her real identity again. 'What kind of rich fairy has come to live here?'
Students transferring from Imperial Garden wasn't a new thing. There were many factors playing roles out there, making some transfer. But, it was never any filthy rich. Thus, when they heard about those three new students, they never imagined them to be some second-generation rich heirs. It was an eye opener.
When the satisfied Opal asked for her fee, she told the amount she charges and with a request. "A homework notebook would be good as a tip." She said shamelessly.
"This…" They both were in different classes. Thus, the only reason behind her request was that she wanted her to ask Layla as she and Layla were in the same classroom.
"…Fine. Here take this."
'She is really good to her roommate.' If she would've requested her directly, she was sure that her requested would be rejected without a doubt. "Wow, from now on I'll pray to god that one day you would be my client." She said playfully.
'She said it as if she wanted to return my favour by using my face as a canvas.' Layla's face turned into a scrowl. "Fuck off."
After teasing Layla, she ran away.
"Would it be all right?" Opal felt that she owed her.
"Don't worry, that's incomplete." Natasha was good in studies. Her only flaw was that she did not like to do her homework but always look for ways to copy it.
"…" you are really cunning.
"By the way, what did you mean when you said that I chose the wrong day."
