Coming To An End
"Yue, this place isn't good. Why don't we move to another restaurant once Dad arrives? He doesn't like German food."
Min Yue pretended to check on his phone to avoid talking to the woman across him.
PA Ren who was also sitting on the other seat was slightly awkward. It was because Yang Shiwei was throwing him a slightly annoyed stare as if to tell him that he wasn't supposed to be there.
Min Yue who saw this was aware that the woman would pick this chance to harass him so he tactfully went to the restaurant with his personal assistant, otherwise, he might just find himself throwing up as he attempts to survive the woman's advances.
If this was Li Ruyan, he would not be so averse and would be a willing party in her assertiveness but the one infront was not her, instead, this was the daughter of one of his enemies.
It was also sickening to think that he would have to endure being touched by this woman for one more month. It was repulsive.
It was also because this was the woman that has been stalking him for three years.
"There! Dad is here." Yang Shiwei said happily as she waved in the direction of the stairs.
Min Yue pretended to raise his head in surprise before glancing in the direction of the aforementioned.
But in his heart, there was not the least bit of feeling of fondness towards the old coot. There was only hatred and rage.
That was good.
Even though five years have passed, he still could not forget the feeling of hate and the intense desire for revenge.
Min Yue met the gaze of his sister's murderer and rapist. On the surface, he was indifferent but deep inside, he wanted to grab the knife on the table and hurl it forward. It would be nice if it landed on the man's jugular.
He was amazed at his own self-control when he shook his hands with his mortal enemy. He was even more amazed that he could nod his head and speak amicably as if he truly respected this man.
It was utter bullshit.
But necessary bullshit.
"So I heard you that you refused Shiwei at first.." Yang Liu asked.
Min Yue knew he was being probed but he had no problem lying.
"Something from work came up but since Shiwei was unhappy, I left the matters and came here for her."
If I could kill you and her, that would great…
But instead, I have to act the part of being the amicable fiancé and future son-in-law.
If it was Li Ruyan, she would never disturb him from his work. She would be understanding and patient. If he said no, she wouldn't whine or complain, unlike Yang Shiwei.
If it was Li Ruyan, he would even be enjoying the coaxing tone and comforting words she would say when he said that he would be too busy.
If it was her, he wouldn't have to bring a shield-like PA Ren.
He looked at his assistant.
PA Ren quickly got the message.
"Ah, yes. CEO Yang, what the CEO said is true. There were some issues in one of the company's projects so the CEO had to work overtime but since Miss Yang was distressed and needed company, the CEO left all of that to accompany her here tonight." PA Ren said with obvious flattery towards Min Yue. He pushed his glasses up which had slid down when he talked and his expression was sincere.
This was why PA Ren was reliable.
Min Yue could trust him when it came to things like this.
He also knows when to speak up when necessary.
Yang Liu raised a brow but he didn't pursue the matter.
The rest of the night seemed far too long and Min Yue wondered how he was able to endure it. Many times, he contemplated various ways of killing Yang Liu.
From stabbing the man using a glass shard to choking, burning, gutting, and even poisoning. These thoughts passed through his mind while spending the night with two hateful people.
His mood was also complicated.
Today was his birthday and today was his four-year anniversary with Li Ruyan.
Was she waiting for him? Was she bored? Did she perhaps go to the company to look for him?
Even while pretending to be in a harmonious relationship with the two people before him, only Li Ruyan and her well-being were on his mind and the occasional murder plot.
He also remembered Du Tianxing, his cousin's advice to pamper Yang Shiwei and his first thoughts were: Over my dead body.
That woman had already harassed him so many times. He felt that he might end up killing her if this keeps up and before he could even get his hands on Yang Liu.
When his cheek was kissed, his instinct was to run towards the nearest bathroom to scrub that part clean but Yang Liu's presence kept him rooted in the spot.
He forced himself to talk and to stay calm.
Just when he thought that this nauseating scene would be over, another thing came up.
Li Ruyan saw him.

There were many things he wanted to say to her when their gaze met.
Are you mad? Are you hurt? I'm sorry. Will you forgive me? Will you believe in me?
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Don't leave me?
But instead of saying all those sappy things, he forced his facial expression to remain indifferent and cold.
He hoped in his heart that she would trust me and that she would not abandon him. That somehow, they could resolve this misunderstanding and yet the night went on, and he had to play the role of being the villain who cheated.
She was smiling.
But she was also dying inside.
Min Yue clenched his fists when he saw this.
Did you know? I was only thinking about you the whole time I was with these people. You were the only one in my mind.
But he was never able to say these things.
He also left and said a lot of harsh words.
"You are acting so shameful, it's disgusting." Though he said this, he was actually referring to himself.
Then, with a heavy heart, he turned his back away, leaving her.
That was the mark of their four-year relationship coming to an end.
