WHY IS IT SO GOD DAMN PAINFUL?

Eyelashes trembling slightly Sarah starts to wake up. Recalling that she needed to check on the evolution tab and what it offers her.

Evolution

Note: First evolution for all body parts is 1 evolution point. Each subsequent evolution will cost an added evolution point e.g. The second evolution will cost 2 evolution points, third evolution will cost 3 evolution point etc.

Claws - Rank 0 Evolution (Lengthens and sharpens claws (Note: Claws are only lengthened an inch per evolution and only lengthen until Rank 2 Evolution))

Teeth - Rank 0 Evolution (Toughens teeth and heightens bite power)

Senses - Rank 0 Evolution (Enhances sense of smell, taste, touch, hearing and sight)

Inner Body - Rank 0 Evolution (Toughens up the endurance of organs, muscles, skeletal structure and blood vessels)

Outer Body - Rank 0 Evolution (Toughens up the skin and fur (Note: Fur will still look and feel normal, just more resistant to blunt attacks whilst offering slight protection from penetrating attacks))

Tail - Rank 0 Evolution (Compacts muscles for more explosive power and speed of attack)

Legs - Rank 0 Evolution (Compacts muscles for more explosive power and speed)

"Hmmm, I've got 2 evolution points from eating that constrictor boa yesterday and from the looks of it I only got two of them because I had never eaten that animal before which means I only get 1 evolution point per animal I eat" Sarah thoughtfully thought of how to ration her points and what types she wished to go for first. "I should just evolve my inner body and then my outer body, hmmm, then my legs and after that go for my claws and then go for my senses, then the tail which finally leaves me with my teeth" she produced her evolution plan in her head. Now that she had figured out her evolution direction she decided to spend her current evolution points on her inner and outer body evolving them to Rank 1.

"Ok, 1 evolution point on Inner Body and 1 evolution point on Outer Body" Sarah stated to the Evolution tab.

"Final Confirmation: Do you wish to proceed with current selection of evolving Inner and Outer Body to Rank 1?" The Evolution tab questioned to make sure that it was her final selection.

"Yes" she replied confirming her selection.

"Awooooooo" Sarah painfully howled as she was evolving. It felt like her Insides were being crushed and healed repeatedly, whilst her outside was assaulted with the feeling of ants crawling all over her skin.

"WHY DIDN'T IT TELL ME IT WOULD BE SO DAMN PAINFUL" Sarah shouted in her mind whilst she was howling in pain on the outside yet no other monster came to check out the noise as if nothing was happening in the first place.

"Note: The gods agreed that they would place those evolving in a different space whilst evolving which means that no matter how loud you are during the process no one can interupt the process." The Status screen shared with her as it did with every sentient monster who evolved for their first time. This was a play by the gods to show that they were safe and also to show how powerful they were.

~Half an hour later~

*Whimper*

"Finally, it's over" Sarah refreshedly said.

Although she disliked the pain she had to go through to evolve the feeling it gave you afterward was just as good as her inner body and outer body felt reinvigorated. Her blood was running smoother, her muscles felt more powerful and compact, her bones felt sturdier (the only con was that with her bones being compacted, she also became heavier) and her organs worked more efficiently especially her heart which had increased in sized and could beat harder pushing more blood through her system increasing her vigor and energy.

Whilst her outer body felt much tougher compared to before, now she felt more confident in staying safer if she ran into slightly stronger animals. Although she had high stats for a newborn, she felt that she still wouldn't be able to go against the more mature and grown up monsters that had been around for quite a while. Checking that she was in prime condition she set out to hunt more animals for experience and evolution points. Towards experience points Sarah slightly felt disappointed as she needed a thousand five hundred experience points to get to the next level which she felt was a bit much. She would find out in the future that she actually required fifty percent more experience to level up compared to others which was a result of her race as she was a divine beast which could kill those that are a full rank higher than her and fight those a rank higher with a few added levels, although she couldn't kill them she could still get away safely.

Heading out of her cave she put the bush back in place after movin it out the way to get out. Sniffing the air Sarah finds the scent of different animals, she tries to hone in on the scent of animals that are grouping together from the same species. After two minutes of searching she finally picks up the scent of a group of animals that she could hunt, setting off she starts off on her hunt.
