"Oh, that's right," he took a dark green kitchen towel and started to wipe down the island counter, "Mandy arrived this morning. She must have driven out to get dinner or something."

Shao Yan hesitated for a while. She had a question that she wanted to ask Li Xiqing, but she was not sure how to start the conversation.
