It was still early morning when I arrived at my aunt's house. Aunt Brie was still probably sleeping in her room. The house was quiet, but I could hear some commotion in the kitchen, indicating that my mom was already cooking.
"Mom, we have to talk," I said as soon as I entered the kitchen. She was already putting some muffins in the oven.
I had to know the truth from her. In a way, it should give me an idea of what happened after the accident even if I ended up not remembering any of it at all.
All night that I was traveling, my mind kept shifting from Luke, Daniel, and Nathan. The three men that made a huge impact in my life. Luke was my past that I lost. Someone my subconsciousness had yearned for all this time without me realizing it.
On the other hand, my heart was hoping that Nathan would be my future. The man I would like to share my life with. However, my brain was still insisting that Daniel was the safer bet. He would love me unconditionally.
