Saving Lisa
The conclusions drawn by Andrey after a number of tries were:
1. The words he said or thought of didn't matter as long as he was saying them with the intention of going back in time. (For convenience's sake Andrey decided to stick to the word 'Time Rewind'.)
2. Whenever he travelled back in time, he would go back exactly ten seconds back into the past.
3. The power had a ten seconds cooldown just like in a game and won't work during that period of time after usage. (Thereby putting an end to the possibility of endlessly travelling back in time)
By the end of his resting time at the infirmary, Andrey was ready with these three conclusions and was currently walking his way back to his class.
There was a P.T. period going on for a class and there were a few boys who were playing cricket in the field. Andrey didn't mind them as he made his way back by the outer periphery of the field.
Not far from him a group of girls were having a good time with each other while spectating the cricket match when all of a sudden, a boy's hurried shout entered their ears.
"LOOK OUT!"
All the girls turned towards the boy with a bat who had shouted and they could see a horrified expression on his face but before they could realize anything they saw a ball strike one of their friend's face right at the centre as she fell on the ground unconscious.
"LISA!" All of them exclaimed as they saw the disfigured face of Lisa lying lifelessly on the ground as trails of blood continued to flow all around her.
Seeing this Andrey too was shocked for a moment and was about to rush the girl towards the infirmary when the thought of using his power suddenly crossed his mind.
"Time Rewind" Andrey muttered within the chaos.
The moment he opened his eyes he found himself a few couple meters away from the girl and rushed towards her without a second thought.
It's common knowledge that women's field of vision is much greater compared to that of men so the girl realized from the corner of her eye that Andrey was rushing towards her like a mad bull and couldn't help but turn towards him in horror.
Andrey couldn't care less about the horrified face that the girl was making as his eyes were stuck on the ball that had just been hit.
"LOOK OUT!" The boy shouted attracting the attention of the group of girls but Lisa was too preoccupied with staring at the boy who was rushing towards her from the side.
Andrey stretched his right hand out to catch the incoming ball which was seen by Lisa as a hand that was coming towards her with the intention of devouring life out of her and she closed her eyes shut intensely hoping for all of this to be just a bad dream.
PAT!
The sound of the ball successfully being caught in Andrey's palm echoed in everyone's ears inviting a series of gasps as they turned their attention towards Andrey who suddenly appeared at the scene of crisis like a hero in the movies to save a girl.
Sensing the sudden silence all around her Lisa opened her eyes only to see the face of Andrey just a few centimetres away from her but seeing that his gaze was focused to her left she turned her head towards that direction and saw his hand holding a red duce ball in his hand.
While Lisa was making sense of everything that happened Andrey retracted his hand and stood up to pass the ball to the boy who had rushed towards them.
"A...Andrey right? Sorry for that and thank you for saving the day brother!" The boy was in the same grade as him but was from a different section so Andrey was not aware of his name...what made things worse was that he seemed to know his name for some reason while he had no clue about his.
"You should be telling her sorry don't you think?" Andrey turned towards Lisa who was still staring blankly into the air before turning back towards the boy.
"Right, how can I be so stupid but still brother you deserve that Thank you," The boy said as he went to apologize to Lisa and was reprimanded by Lisa's group for his carelessness.
Seeing that the girl named Lisa didn't suffer the same fate as before Andrey was quite pleased with himself and made his way towards his classroom with a fresh mood.
"Wait!" The girl named Lisa soon realised with the help of her friends that the boy who had saved her from the accident had already left and soon rushed towards him from behind.
"Hmm?" Andrey turned around after hearing the words and saw the girl whom he had saved earlier rushing towards him. "Is there a problem?" He couldn't help but ask.
"Yes...I mean no! I just wanted to thank you for saving me back there," Lisa said while puffing for air. She had become breathless just from running a few meters and was feeling quite ashamed for it inwardly.
"Oh it's alright, be careful next time when you're sitting at such places, if there's nothing else then I'll be going," Andrey said with a smile and turned around as he was getting late for the next class.
"Wait!" Lisa once again called out to him.
"Yes? Is there something else?" Andrey asked in a doubtful manner as he turned back to face her.
"Well...my father says that the best way to thank a person is to treat them to a meal. So can you satisfy this selfish request of mine and have a meal with me after school?" Lisa said with an embarrassed smile on her face.
"This...yea s-sure," Andrey agreed with an awkward expression as this was the first time he was being asked for a meal by a girl. 'Isn't this similar to a date?' A thought entered his mind and he extinguished it the moment it entered.
"Great!" Lisa said with a bright smile and took out her phone immediately to exchange phone numbers with Andrey.
A few minutes later Andrey walked back towards the class while staring at his mobile screen on which Lisa's contact page was opened up with wide eyes.
This was a totally new experience for Andrey as his face could be described as average at best and there were plenty of handsome and muscular boys in his school so it was rare for a girl to approach someone like him with average looks.
Jenny was an exception because Andrey had inferred from her actions that her motive behind talking and bickering with him was only to get closer to Jacob who could be rated as an eight by most girls thanks to him being a regular gym goer which was complemented by his looks which could be said to be above average.
This realization only made him more comfortable with Jenny as he was now aware of her motive behind interacting with him and he could remove all second thoughts that may have trespassed his mind earlier.
With his mind still wandering on the number on his phone screen, he accidentally bumped into someone and quickly apologized.
"Sorry!"
"Just look at you, not learning your lesson at all. I told you not to walk while looking at your screen in the morning and here you are doing it all again even with those bruises on your face." Who would have thought that the person whom he had bumped into would turn out to be his homeroom teacher, Miss Jane, who started reprimanding him the moment she found out that the person who had bumped into her was Andrey.
After listening to her admonishments for more than a minute Andrey walked towards his class with a deep sigh as all his energy had been sucked by Miss Jane earlier.
After reaching his class he asked the teacher's permission to come inside and dragged his exhausted self towards his bench. His seat was in the middle and it was something which he preferred.
If he sat too behind then he wouldn't be able to understand anything in the class and would be too distracted but if he sat too ahead then he would become a perfect target for teachers to ask him questions. Hence, he was quite satisfied with his seating.
"You look all worn out...what happened?" Jacob whispered towards Andrey in the middle of the class.
The History teacher was known for being strict so Andrey too whispered back to him, "Bumped into Miss Jane while I was on my way here...she sucked me all dry..."
"Oof...why are you having such a bad day today, the morning injury in the morning and then this..." Jacob couldn't help but sympathize with him as the two of them focused back on the class as they had no plan of getting caught by the history teacher.
