"I can't believe I've transmigrated into a police officer. While this is a noble profession and all, what on earth is up with this situation?"

Qin Feng led the informant to a seat and began questioning him.

Based on the informant, Liu Ming's description, he learned that Liu Ming and his wife, Li Caihua had both run a supermarket together. It had been three days since he started his search for her, and he had scoured through all the security footage of the neighborhood they were in. Nevertheless, he had caught neither sight nor sound of his wife. Moreover, aside from her cellphone, all of her other possessions and valuables had been left behind.

From the way that Liu Ming had described the situation, Li Caihua seemed to have disappeared from the face of the planet.

"Mr. Liu, why didn't you report the case sooner? It has been three days since her disappearance, after all."

Qin Feng glanced at Liu Ming and asked curiously.

"Business is booming recently, and we've been having our hands full manning the shop. Thus, I initially thought that she had gone out for some recreation, but once I realized that I couldn't contact her phone, I soon realized that something was amiss, especially since none of her relatives had seen her." Liu Ming explained.

"I see."

Qin Feng nodded, stood up, and told Liu Ming, "I understand the situation now. We will take up your case. You can head back for now, we'll definitely find Ms. Li for you."

Liu Ming bowed gratefully and turned to leave.

With a sigh, Qin Feng then headed to the office to sort out the documents so that he could tackle the case as soon as possible.

"Officer Qin, do you have any plans after work?"

The beautiful police officer, Mu Qianqian suddenly approached Qin Feng and asked.

'Holy cow, who is this majestic piece of art? She looks like an actor from a show I used to watch. To think that she's my colleague. Could we have transmigrated together?' Qin Feng stared wide-eyed in fascination at Mu Qianqian.

After giving it some more thought and failing to reach a conclusion, Qin Feng simply gave up.

"I don't have any plans after work. What's the matter?"

Qin Feng smiled and leaned against the table as he stole a glance at the personnel sheet on the wall.

Although he did not know why the woman before him had such a drastic resemblance to the female lead of a TV series, it did not hinder Qin Feng from trying to flirt with her.

"Umm yes, I have a favor to ask. My family likes to arrange blind dates for me, and I don't really feel like going to them. You're no slouch when it comes to looks, and you seem to be the type of stand-up guy who can appease the elderly. So, what I'm saying is, could you please become my pretend boyfriend?"

Mu Qianqian asked in a slightly awkward tone.

"AH? Pretend to be your boyfriend? No can do, I'll feel guilty fooling your parents. However, if you can act so realistically that no one would be able to tell that it's an act, I might consider it."

Qin Feng shook his head and responded. He had no desire to take part in matters that could potentially disrupt the peace within a family.

"Could you please do me a favor? We're colleagues, are we not? I'll treat you to a big meal in the future. At worst, should your family force you to go on blind dates in the future, I'll pretend to be your girlfriend in return. How about it?"

Mu Qianqian pleaded anxiously. She really had no other choice.

"Alright, how can I resist an offer from a beautiful maiden such as yourself. I'll do it. If nothing else, I've gained a girlfriend, even if temporarily."

"You think too much."

Mu Qianqian heaved a sigh of relief. With that, she then turned around and went back to work.

"Qin Feng, Mu Qianqian, come over here for a moment."

Captain Liu Chao pushed the door open and said to the two of them.

Hearing their captain's call, Qin Feng and Mu Qianqian got up quickly. After exchanging a glance at one another, they then put down their work and entered the captain's office.

"What's the matter, captain?"

Qin Feng asked, still standing at attention.

"I heard that you've taken on a missing person case this morning. I hereby order you and Mu Qianqian to investigate the case together." Liu Chao looked up at Qin Feng and responded.

'I'm finally going out on a mission!'

Qin Feng's eyes lit up. After all, he had been a little free for the past few days, and thus, he was excited at the prospect of finally doing police work. Upon giving a military salute, he then responded in a loud voice, "Sir, yes sir! I promise to complete this mission!"

Mu Qianqian could not help but laugh out loud, but she immediately adjusted herself to indicate that she too, had heard the order loud and clear.

After changing into casual clothes, the two of them then left the police station.

"Well, someone seems to be in a good mood. I didn't expect that we would become partners this quickly. But I guess this works in my favor. Once we're done with the case, I'll bring you home to meet my parents so that they can finally stop nagging me about finding a boyfriend."

Qin Feng was stunned when he heard this. He turned his head and asked, "So soon? I'm not ready yet."

Mu Qianqian patted Qin Feng's arm lightly and said with a smile, "No excuses. You're only pretending to be my boyfriend. It's not real. Why would you need to prepare?"

"Look at it this way. Although we're in a fake relationship, it's also going to be my first time meeting your parents. I should make a good impression, so that your parents will take a liking to me and insist on making me their son-in-law."

Qin Feng retorted.

Mu Qianqian sized up Qin Feng and commented, "Although your appearance will suit my parents' taste, do note that they have a very different metric when it comes to evaluating suitors. I doubt you'll stand a chance against their judgment."

"That might not be the case. What if I actually get their approval?" Qin Feng grumbled, unwilling to admit defeat.

"If you really do catch their eye, I'll officially go out with you. How about that?"

Mu Qianqian looked at the aggrieved Qin Feng and chuckled.

"Are you serious? You can't go back on your word."

Qin Feng immediately perked up upon hearing Mu Qianqian's words. He then "casually" stole glances at Qianqian's long legs while his heart burst with excitement.

"What are you looking at? Eyes on the road! You should pay attention while driving."

Mu Qianqian glared at Qin Feng, waved her little fist, and snapped fiercely. Then, she took Qin Feng's notebook and looked through the details of the case.

"Tch, fine."

Qin Feng muttered as he stepped on the accelerator.

"Vroom! Vroom!"

The car turned at a corner and drove toward Liu Ming's neighborhood.
