Hong Li Empire, the south, next to the dense rainforest, the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains.
Here, nominally the land of the Hong Li Empire, but in reality, it was rarely visited, and the central control had been unprecedentedly lax. The nearest city that could be called such was at least nearly a hundred kilometers from the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains.
Beyond that, there were only sporadically a few villages.
The largest of the villages was built right beside the Hundred Thousand Great Mountains, or rather, at the mountain foot. The densely packed buildings could almost be termed a small city, except that this settlement had a unique style. The surface of the walls bore various totem patterns, exuding a strong sense of primitiveness.
And next to the village, at a mid-mountain position of a peak.
Above the steep cliffs, there stood an austerely majestic dark golden temple.
