Chapter 79: Tyrannical Leader

In one fell swoop, the guys on the rooftop started quivering in fear.

While the 30 men with brooms had a maniacal smile on there faces.

The moment they picked up there brooms the 2 strongest teams on the rooftop rushed at them to stop them from committing the devilish act.

But to no avail, with a swift motion, the 30 men started brushing the broom forward and backward and had all the hard-earned dirt which was thinly spread across the rooftop floor to become piled up.

The guys formed their groups of 5 and each started spreading out aiming to get near the rooftop edge. If they were to get there then they would be able to brush the dirt off the building and be lost.

The group of 10 men obviously wouldn't stand for all their hard work to be for nothing and started scrambling to take down the 30 men.

Unfortunately, they were lacking in time and manpower and when the last second past they had lost.

In a matter of seconds the elevator door opened and the boss who is loved by all appeared...

He looked at the 8 groups of people and in one hell of a confident tone started calling out the groups of people who had passed and failed the test.

"The ones who failed this test are..."

"..."

" All of you! So now quit dilly-dallying around and fill all of these 3 rooftops. You all are going to be staying in for training tomorrow as well."

With that single sentence, the faces of all the people on the rooftop changed."

"What but we already filled up a rooftop with dirt!"

"Yeah!"

"I mean we did disrupt them but they were the first ones who hogged the elevator first!"

I look at them and with a smile, I take out a gun.

I fire 1 shot towards the ceiling and after some debris fell and the dust cleared I ask again.

"Do I look like I care a fuck?"

"..."

"I told you all to fill up all 3 rooftops meaning they should have all been filled up by now. I even gave you the privilege of using the elevator."

"But they..."

"Shut it! All I know is that I gave you 4 fucking hours to finish 1 fucking task of filling up all the rooftops with dirt. The end result should have been 3 completely filled rooftops. I don't care who did what or why this happened. You should have had plenty of time to do this task. There are 40 of you."

During the Apocalypse trivial things like who did what and what doesn't matter. To hell even if you were to kill someone else it wouldn't matter much.

All that mattered was who had power in their hands and who was the boss. Also, the fact that you had to finish the tasks the boss set.

Naturally in this situation, I am the boss and I have power in my hands meaning they can be unhappy but there is nothing they can do.

What I'm aiming to be is the Leader. With my experience in the apocalypse, the leader most fit for the Apocalypse is naturally a Tyrant.

It is the type of leader which leads the strongest Survival Bases.

It was also the type of leader who controlled the people most effectively.

This is because when you have a leader which has power in his hands in this case guns and a person who will tell you what to do then all the people will have no choice but to do as he says.

But the downside of this leader is that it was a leadership style that was only used for the Survival bases who had overwhelming strength.

When some smaller survival groups try and use this type of leadership style it ends in 3 ways.

1.) the leader is stronger than the group of people and when someone disobeys him to set an example he kills or tortures the guy and scares the men into following him. But it usually ends with the outcome of the people fleeing from him when they have the chance.

2.) The leader, although is stronger than everyone else, doesn't stand a chance if they all group together. But the leader usually keeps them against each other with threats and through bullying sets examples. But after he goes too far the group will eventually plan and assassinate the leader.

3.) The leader becomes fearful the people he is leading will end up killing him and plans to get rid of all of them leading to a massacre.

Thus other usually groups use different leadership styles then going full Authoritarian.

But for me this is perfect.

All of these people have just encountered the apocalypse. Thus they don't know how to survive. The world outside is dangerous. Thus they fear to leave this survival base I made. They know I have more power then them. Thus they fear me. I can't die. Thus they can assassinate me all they want and I won't give a Fuck.

They are all noobs to this Apocalypse situation and by making myself the highest figure in this group I can make them fear me as well as loyal to me just by teaching them some tricks to surviving.

An apocalyptic society is unlike anything any of these guys have ever encountered.

Therefore to make myself the figure of authority in their eyes I just need to do one thing which is to be as tyrannical as possible and make them not even dare disobey what I say whilst obeying my every word because only by doing so will they will be able to live.

So although I could have simply given the teams who accomplished the task a nice reward of rest and risen some points in their good books, I think it is much more effective to make them listen to me first punishing them all first to show off my authority.

By punishing them first they will feel wrong giving them a stronger first impression of me and by treating them better later on they will be forced to please me.

This is simply a game of the carrot and the stick.

A tactic most politicians like using.

"Good, it would seem you don't have any questions."
