Talent Scan

Hey guys, this is a bonus chapter that I finished early today. Also, just a heads up announcement but I will reediting the 4 previous chapter because I wasn't really happy with them but rest assured that the context will still be same but the wording will be changed instead.

When Mr. Lu saw Reo standing still while looking at the question written down, he involuntarily relaxed.

It turns out that Reo was still a normal human after all.

If Reo really did answer the question straight away, he would have surely passed out from shock.

However, just as he was feeling relieved, Reo made a move!

Seeing this, Mr. Lu tensed up once again.

Could Reo actually answer that question? No, there's no way!

If he really did, then he would really have to reevaluate his opinion on Reo.

He would not be a slacker but a highly gifted student instead.

Not only that, he would actually have to give Reo permission to not pay attention in his class.

As a teacher, this was a critical blow to his integrity.

After all, every teacher wanted their students to pay attention in their class. It showed them that what they thought was actually interesting enough for the students to pay attention to them and respect them for their knowledge.

It was like a sense of accomplishment for them.

But right now, he was going to lose that sense of accomplishment to such a remarkable genius. This made it all the more worse.

For there to be such a great genius but to not listen to his teachings, Mr. Lu's heart couldn't help but ache a little at the loss.

'Relax, Lu, relax. He might just be attempting the question, there's still a low chance for him to get it correct', Mr. Lu comforted himself.

True to his point, Reo did write but he wrote incredibly slowly and took short but frequent breaks in between.

It was like he was making sure that all of his workings were on point before giving the final answer.

It was only after a good 5 minutes did Reo submit his answer to Mr. Lu.

Mr. Lu didn't go up to the blackboard to inspect the answer because he already knew that the final answer was correct.

"It's correct", Mr. Lu couldn't help but whisper out.

His voice wasn't loud but the entire class heard him.

An uproar followed the very next second.

"How can this be? Wasn't he just a loser? How did he turn into a genius overnight?"

"He must have taken some special medicine. I heard that there is some special medicine that can turn one from a loser into an indomitable genius before"

"Are you thinking of an anime?! This is real life, damn it!"

None of his classmates were pleased with him passing Mr. Lu's test but Reo had fully expected this.

So, instead of trying to win over his classmates, he decided to troll them instead.

"I told you all before. It's not that you are stupid but it's because that I'm too smart so much so that I got bored of achieving good results"

"To me, there is no one in this class that is capable of making me show my true capabilities"

Reo's body then exuded an aura of loneliness as he looked into the distance while speaking in a voice filled with wisdom.

"Is this the feeling of being the best? It's really too lonely"

At this exact moment, Reo's posture seemed to resemble that of an ancient warrior who was looking at the world from a tall mountain top. Looking over the world after going through countless opponents, looking for his next opponent as loneliness encompassed him

Reo's classmates immediately became furious at hearing that.

"Damn it! Don't you dare get cocky, you pee brain!"

"Yes, you're only 11 years old this year and here you are speaking like you're already the best in the world! Do you really think that none of us can match up against you?!"

"Yes! It's only a Math Olympiad question but now you're thinking of taking on the whole world after solving one meager question?! Stop dreaming!"

Then, the students heard Mr. Lu's strained voice which barely sounded like a whisper.

"This is a question at the international standard of the Math Olympiad"

When the student who made that last remark heard Mr. Lu's words, his face paled significantly as he slumped down on his seat.

At that moment, he even began questioning his own life's worth.

The same could also be the same for the rest of the students as well.

This was the international standard of the Math Olympiad!

This meant that Reo was qualified enough to go against the other geniuses from other countries. In a sense, he was really taking on the world.

Just like that, all of their protests came to a halt.

Instead, they began looking looking at Reo like he was a monster.

It was also at this time, that Mr. Lu came to his senses.

A feeling of unsettlement rose deep in his heart.

He....A fully grown man who was a teacher, had actually been defeated in knowledge by an elementary school student.

It was frustrating, it was saddening but there was also a feeling of helplessness from him.

This test proved that he didn't have the qualifications to teach such a genius. As a teacher, it was a frustrating feeling for him but it nonetheless served as a valuable lesson for him.

He was passionate about his job as a teacher and if he wanted to be respected by his students, he needed to raise his knowledge standards.

Reo had shown him this very clearly.

Thus, from now on, he made a vow as to become more knowledgeable in the subjects that he thought

Meanwhile, Reo didn't know this but he had inadvertently changed another person's life just like that.

After taking some time to reminisce with himself, Mr. Lu looked at Reo with a pleased expression.

"Reo-san, I was wrong before and have said some words that might have affected you deeply. For that, I apologize in taking the wrong attitude towards you as a teacher", Mr. Lu spoke in a respectful tone.

"From now on, I will allow you to do your own work in my class but I will still warn you. Your senior year will begin in another 2 months and your grades then will carry significant weight in your posting to the middle schools in the province"

"As such, I strongly advise you to take your studies seriously from now on, Reo. Don't ruin your future prospects just because of boredom"

At the same time, he couldn't help glaring at the rest of the class.

It was because that none of them were talented enough that Reo began feeling bored and ditched his studies in the first place. If they were even a little bit better, how could such a genius be feeling bored without any competition.

And just like that, Mr. Lu had inadvertently shifted the blame towards the rest of the class instead.

When the class saw his glare, they instantly knew what their teacher was thinking and numerous grievances rose up within their hearts.

'Teacher, you were the one who lost the bet with Reo. Why are you blaming us instead?', the students thought tearfully.

After giving Reo a few more words of advise, Mr. Lu allowed Reo and Mikasa to return to their seats before officially starting his lesson.

Surprisingly, Mikasa's seat was just beside his own.

When Mikasa sat down, she couldn't help leaning over to Reo and asked, "Reo, since when did you become so smart?".

Reo didn't know why but he felt like crying when he heard that question coming from this girl.

Did she mean that he was normal being dumb and being smart made him look like a weirdo instead?

Fine, he would troll her too as well!

Reo suddenly put a smirk on his face as he said to Mikasa, "I have always been smart and now that you have seen the real me, tell me....are you jealous of my handsomeness?"

Since this girl had already made countless remarks to make him nearly faint in just one day, he couldn't just let her off without teasing her a little.

As expected, when Mikasa heard that, her face immediately turned beet red in embarrassment as she stomped her foot on the ground.

"Huh?! W-Who's jealous of you?! Reo, you big pervert! Now, you will never get a wife and forever be single!", Mikasa scolded Reo.

Reo's grin was instantly wiped out as he felt his vision graying as his body slumped in his seat in despair.

How did teasing this girl turn into him being a pervert who will remain single for the rest of his life?

He wanted to just troll her a little just for fun but in the end, he ended up getting a massive troll instead.

This girl....her mouth was too toxic even if she didn't really mean it!

Meanwhile, the boys in the class looked on at the duo with red eyes.

While it looked like a friendly banter to others, in their eyes, it looked like blatant flirting in public.

Seeing this, they couldn't help but grit their teeth in anger.

This idiot actually wanted the school flower for himself!

No! They couldn't let such a thing happen!

So, as they looked on at the duo, they gritted their teeth and vowed to put Reo in his place once and for all.

Reo yawned as he felt his eyes drooping.

School was just too boring for him.

Not only was it at the elementary level, it was even lower than the normal elementary level that he was used to.

To him, it felt like he was back in the nursery school again.

So, during the rest of the day in school, he spent the rest of his time talking to the system.

As usual, the system was still as arrogant as the day he met it but Reo felt that it was slowly warming up to him even though it itself didn't notice it.

Also, he was exploring the various functions of the system.

For one, he discovered a brand new function called 'Talent Scan'.

Like the name stated, it allowed him to scan and see the talent of his opponents including their main specialty in basketball.

To him, this was also another advantage that the system provided.

Being able to see your opponents skill early on in the game will give you enough time to devise an appropriate counter to take control of the game and eventually win it.

Reo somehow felt that the system was broken. If this really continued in the future, he would really be so overpowered that no one could stop him.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Suddenly, the sound of the bell cut Reo off from his thoughts.

Looking around, he saw the students packing up their stuff as they got ready to leave.

Turns out that the school had already ended...

As such, Reo began packing his stuff as well as he got ready to leave.

However, just as he got ready to stand up and leave,3 big bodied kids surrounded his table and looked at him in a menacing manner.
