I'm a Genius!

Hi, guys! I apologize for not updating yesterday as I was not feeling too good. To make it up to all my loyal readers, I will be posting 3 chapters today as a bonus for yesterday.

. . . . . . . . . . . . .

After a few minutes of 'interrogating' Mikasa, Reo found out all that he needed to know.

Mikasa was actually his neighbor a couple of years back. At that time, she was living in her grandfather's house which was coincidently just beside Reo's house.

Naturally, as neighbors, they got acquainted with each other and soon became good friends.

It was only after about 2 years later did Mikasa and her parents finally move out due to her grandfather's passing.

However, they were still able to keep in touch with each other as they were in the same elementary school after all.

So far everything seemed alright between the two of them. The only problem was the previous Reo's character.

From what Mikasa had told him, he was quite the troublemaker.

Not only would he not do any of his homework, he would actually copy from Mikasa by occasionally 'stealing' her work.

Of course, she would always complain to him about it but he would always just brush it off.

Also, the number of pranks that he pulled on his classmates were innumerable, thus acquiring the hate from countless students around the school.

Then, there was the Golden Sunrise incident.

'Hehehe', Reo laughed internally in an awkward manner just thinking about it.

The Golden Sunrise incident; the incident where the entire front of Reo's class was covered in bright orange paint.

It had actually started when the old Reo had gotten scolded in quite a ruthless manner by his middle-aged Math teacher for not doing his homework continuously.

Feeling quite angry towards the teacher, Reo decided to get back at that teacher.

So, before his next Math class, Reo had purposely sprayed the entire front of the class with bright orange paint, covering the entire teacher's table and blackboard with paint.

Naturally, the class was shocked to find their class covered with such bright paint while the teacher reported the incident to the school's administration.

That incident was quite a big deal as it showed that the students were getting more and more unrulier by the day. After a bit of debating, he school authorities finally decided to catch the perpetrator and use that person as an example to all students to curb such unruly behavior.

However, after countless investigations, there was still no clue about who the perpetrator was.

However, there was also one key figure to all of this.

Reo

That boy's unruly behavior had long caught the eye of the school authorities after countless reports on him and with just a bit of thought, they began to suspect that he was actually the one behind the incident.

Reo was naturally not going to give a confession and as such, they naturally turned to his good friend, Mikasa.

Now normally, Mikasa would have nothing to worry about.

However....Reo had actually bragged about his endeavor to her!

When the school authorities first saw Mikasa, they instantly knew that she was hiding something.

After all, how good could a girl below the age of 10 lie?

Naturally, they tried to interrogate and scare her a bit which left Mikasa scared to the point of tears.

However, Mikasa didn't want to get Reo into trouble. Thus, she confessed that she was actually the one who caused the incident.

She told them that she was angry at the teacher for bullying her friend and wanted to get back at that teacher but she never meant to hurt anyone and cause such trouble.

This left the school authorities in quite a pickle. Mikasa's had a good record and it would be a shame for such a student to be expelled because of one tiny incident.

As such, the school authorities finally decided to wipe the slate clean with this incident and not penalize Mikasa.

However, they still gave her a good scolding and also called her parents.

Her parents were naturally furious at her especially her mother. She scolded her thoroughly and told Mikasa that it was because she was spending too much time with Reo that she was starting to become a ruffian.

Reo nearly fell over in laughter when he heard that.

Mikasa, a ruffian?

The girl nearly cried for being in the same room as him.

The only place she could be a ruffian was in a world of glitter and sparkles.

Also, he was quite touched that Mikasa would actually stand up for the previous Reo considering his shitty personality.

It showed that Mikasa valued their friendship more than a mere punishment by the school.

So, after thinking for a while, Reo finally made his decision.

Since the previous Reo was gone, he would now take on the responsibility of being Mikasa's good friend as well as her guardian.

Mikasa had suffered quite a lot previously due to the old Reo's actions and as such, Reo decided to look out for Mikasa as a form of repayment to her.

Then, just as he was thinking this....The bell rang!

When Mikasa heard the bell ring, her face turned pale as she instantly grabbed Reo's hand and pulled him out of the class.

"Oh no, we're going to be late! Now, Mr. Lu will make us stand outside of the class for 20 minutes!"

"Reo, you big dummy! This is all your fault!", Mikasa complained as she pulled Reo along.

Reo however, wasn't paying attention to her. Instead, he was thinking of something else.

'Am I flying?'

'How is this girl so strong to drag me just like this'

This petite looking Mikasa had actually tapped into her inner beast strength when it came to punctuality.

As such, it only took them around 5 minutes before they reached their classroom and hastily opened the door.

Inside, the homeroom teacher was calmly sitting down at his desk while taking the class attendance.

Hearing the door open, he involuntarily frowned.

Tardiness was the one thing he despised the most.

Turning to look at who it was, Mr. Lu was bewildered to see Mikasa standing there out of breath.

'Why is Mikasa late? Isn't she usually on time',Mr. Lu wondered.

Then, he glanced behind her and saw Reo.

Immediately, he understood what had happened.

While he didn't like Reo's attitude when it came to studies, he never really bothered with it as everyone had their own way of doing things.

But! He absolutely could not tolerate him dragging down another student!

Especially when that student was the top scorer for the entire grade!

Meanwhile, the class was focusing on something else.

Reo had finally returned with their school flower!

Many of them had witnessed the spectacle at the gate this morning and very quickly, it became a known fact between for all the students.

As such, they began to whisper their thoughts out.

"Hmph! That trash, Reo finally returned with our school's flower. I swear if he did anything to Mikasa-chan, he and I will be lifelong enemies!"

"That's right! To bully Mikasa-chan into covering up for him, his actions are too despicable!"

"Trash will always be trash. What else can they do besides blaming others?"

As the students gazed at the duo standing at the door, their displeasure for Reo was at full display when they saw him.

Then, they gazed down and noticed something else.

They....were actually holding hands!

Well, it was actually Mikasa holding Reo's hand but in the eyes of the various students, it looked like Reo forcefully holding Mikasa's hand without letting go whatsoever.

Very quickly, the anger in their hearts rose before it quickly erupted!

"Reo, you fiend! Let go of Mikasa-chan's hand, you beast!", one student who was unable to hide the fury in his heart, immediately shouted out.

As if a chain reaction had been set off, the rest of the students began following suit.

"Reo, you monkey butt! Take your filthy hands off of Mikasa-chan's right now!"

"You actually dare to hold her hand! Do you wish to feel the wrath of the entire school crashing down on you?!"

"You're actually trying to hoard our school's flower all to yourself by being forceful with her?! Come here and receive my kick!"

"My God, our school's flower has been tainted by a pile of horse shit. Why are the heavens so jealous of beautiful things?!"

Just like that, the entire class descended into chaos.

"SHUT IT!", Mr. Lu immediately yelled out in rage.

After hearing their teacher shout ,the students immediately shrank their necks back and became silent.

Their homeroom teacher was known for being quite strict and if he called their parents for being a nuisance in the class, they would surely get a harsh spanking when they got home.

None of the students wanted that.

Seeing as the class had quieted down, Mr Lu took his stern gaze away from them and directed it towards Mikasa and Reo.

As if sensing her teacher's gaze, Mikasa became frightened and quickly explained the situation to her teacher.

"M-Mr. Lu, I was holding Reo's hand only because I saw it was late and wanted to reach the class faster"

Mr. Lu's gaze remained stern but he nodded slightly in understanding.

Then, he spoke.

"Mikasa, it's good to help others but I must also advise you to look out for yourself. You can't always be helping others while discarding your own well being"

Then, turning to Reo, Mr. Lu's gaze became even sharper.

"And you, Reo! If you have no interest in coming to class on time, I advise you to pack up your things and leave!"

"You're tardiness record is far from clean and your grades are one of the worst in our school's history. I wont advise you to take your studies seriously but I do have to warn you to not drag the other students down"

"Just because you don't care about your studies, doesn't mean that you have to force others to join you! Just because you are already down the path of no return, doesn't mean that you should have the other students join you in despair"

Mr. Lu's words were quick and firm, making Reo frown.

Teachers should be encouraging students to study and do better no matter how bad they were. Yet, this teacher was doing the exact opposite.

Could it be that....the old Reo was really that hopeless?

Even if that was the case, that was with the old Reo.

He was the new Reo now.

So, with a straightened back and with a dignified look on his face, Reo spoke to his homeroom teacher.

"Mr. Lu, it's not that I don't care about my homework and whatnot. It's just that I don't think that those questions were worth answering"

"Why? It's because....I'm a genius!"
