[Still a Child]

Wanting to die is one of Eve's wishes. She lived enough and suffered enough in this world. Despite of her beauty is her cold mannerism. Who can blame her if Diavolo is the one who puts the cursed to her?

Not to mention that Azareth, her own creator betrayed her by giving her the power of Immortality. For others, immortality is a blessings, but for Eve,

IT'S A CURSED.

A cursed that she wanted to lift a long time ago. But the question is still unsolve. What love is and why do love exist.

For Eve, love is destructive and manipulative. It can bring chaos to people that can end the world. But that's not what Azareth wants to hear. As long as the answer is incorrect, she can't lift the curse.

Time passes by, she mourns for her masters. Svesta. Is the family who saw the potential inside of her. She thought that if she became loyal to her master, she might find the answer of what love really means.

But they used her for fame and status. Being unable to experience love, her mind went blank and didn't expect herself to turn into a stone. It's like her heart has its own barriers that can't be broken or tamed by anyone.

Until one day, Serena came in the house Svena, Eve was treated as a treasure than a subject by Serena. The couple knows Eve's service from the beginning that's why they're grateful to her.

The immortality she possessed reached the Imperial Kingdom. As the king wanted her to be the Head Knight, Eve refused as she knows that the Empire will use her as a tool.

Declining to the offer, Duke Artem and Duchess Serena felt at ease. As Eve is really loyal to the Svena family.

No matter how much price is the offer for Eve, she stays in the family who treats her not as a subject, but as a treasure. But then, the thing she feels is just the feeling of being important to the Duke and Duchess and not love.

If the couple dies, she'll mourn once again and serve the daughter. And the story will be recycled all over again.

"Eve I was thinking–"

"If we could be friends atleast? Forget about my status and let's start as a friend." Eve has a big respect to Lady Luna. Even if she wanted to accept her lady's hand, Eve knows that her master is just a temporary happiness.

And the pain that Luna will leave to her will be difficult to erase. "Remember your position Lady Luna. I'm the head butler of your family. In able to be stronger, you just have to be friends with the royals and not a butler like me."

It's not like she's pushing her away. It was more of I wanted too, but I respect you. Kind of thing.

"Why not?" Eve knows that her lady is acting weird. But then, she wanted to watch the following events.

"Because Miss is the precious daughter of Svena family." Eve thought that the lady will give up, but it was stubborn and bothers her every minute of rest.

And as tomorrow comes, they both visit the Capital. "Running is not a ladylike Miss Luna." Emotionless as she is, Eve can feel a little happiness inside. Her heart is beating, not as loud as the drums, but still, it's beating.

"If you wanted to stick with the etiquette do it yourself!" Eve found herself following the lady. Although the eyes of people are suspicious, she choose not to mind them.

"Snatching will cost you death." She said to the guy who's ready to touch her lady. He's not a fool who wants to be killed so he knows that he needed to apologize.

The Capital might be pleasing to the eyes, but most people in the streets are not just a merchants, but a mercenaries. "If you're not careful, you'll die, Lady Luna." A sudden chills runs through Luna's spine.

She's busy looking to the different handkerchief that she could see in the area. She thinks that red will suits Eve more.

"I wanted to buy this one!" Luna said as she happily pays the merchant. "You should've ordered at a catalogue. Why do you have to buy it here?" Eve asked as she held Luna's waist.

"Experience is an experience, If you don't experience a thing, then how would you know the answer?" This strikes Eve's guts. The only thing to answer a question is to experience things in life.

But to whom can she experience love? Eve looks down as she tighten her security. She shouldn't think about these things or Luna may caught in danger.

Watching Svena child grow-up is a normal thing for Eve. It's like watching a movie that is interesting from the start.

Luna Svena. Is the only childish master that she ever encountered. But for some reasons, Eve noticed the changed of taste. Eve knows that the aura isn't the same as before.

It's even brighter and livelier than before. The only question in Eve's mind is how and when did it start to be like this? Did she blink for too long for the lady to change overnight? She wanted to find the answer.

If the lady will just open to her. "What are you standing for? Join me!" Eve who can't refuse the lady's order joined Luna's gameplay.

They won too many prizes that if this continues, the merchant will lose its job. "That's enough for today. We are closing!" Luna chuckles as the merchants started to decline them.

"How are you so good at this?" Luna asked even though she knows the answer. "Mindset Lady Luna and you will win." Eve don't really understand why does her lady looks so happy.

'Is it because we won too many things?' Is what Eve's thinking. Moreover, Eve can't really understand, why is it important to smile at little things?

"Did you enjoy?" A question made Eve stop. She don't even know what enjoy means...

"If the lady enjoy, then my heart will be filled by joy." Eve's safe answer that is accepted by Luna.

As Luna smiled, a barrier from Eve's heart is starting to crack. "Milady, aren't you hungry?" Luna looks at Eve with a confused look.

"You didn't eat for the whole time." Luna stops. Indeed. She didn't eat for the whole time. She was busy playing and spending her allowance on the capital without even tasting its dishes.

"Then why don't we eat?" Luna looks excited as she holds Eve's hand. It was warm and filled with different emotions that Eve can't have.

"I will wait here." Luna raises her eyebrow as she looks at Eve. "What did you say?"

"I will wait–"

"Then I will not eat." Eve steps back as Luna looks at her furiously. "How dare you to tell me to eat if you wouldn't eat?!"

"Please don't mind me. Remember your status Lady–"

"Let's go home then." Luna said as her face turns dimmed. "My appetite is gone." As if Eve is witnessing another personality of her lady.

"If the lady wants me to join, I'll be fine in Svena's mansion. I can cook for the lady."

"Please think of your image Lady Luna. They all know that I'm Svena's butler. If I'm given the same treat as Lady Luna, the people will take advantage of the family." Luna sighs as a sign of defeat.

Even though Luna's disappointed, she can't help, but to think of Eve's words. Indeed, she's a daughter of a duke and a duchess. She has an image to protect.

"I would love to see your skills then." Luna's smile is somehow a mystery for Eve. "Why is she always smiling at such small stuff?" Is what Eve's thinking right now.

As they reached the Svena mansion, Luna greeted her parents as a sign of respect and continues to the dining hall where they will eat together.

She remembers that she always eats alone in her former world. But now, she can ask Luna or her parents to join her.

Minutes past and the dinner is serve. It was just like in the novel. The Capital's Food. "How did you–"

"Milady didn't have the time to eat at the Capital because of my stubbornness. As an apology, I made the Capital's special delicacies." As Luna tastes the foods, she knows, that this is a talent that she wanted back then.

"Does it taste to your likings?" Luna happily nods as her feet moves like a child. "If her lady wants, I can cook you food from the capital and we can both eat the things you want. We can do things inside. But we can't never do it outside."

"Everyday?" Eve stops as she looks at her lady. Luna looks like a puppy begging for a positive answer. "As long as Milady request for it." Eve can't turn back.

But maybe hanging out with Luna isn't a bad idea either...

The night has finally ended and Eve escorted the lady to her bedroom. Luna, who's not sleepy yet gets Eve's hand as she requested one thing. At once, Su wen wanted to be spoiled just for one day.

"Can you stay until I fall asleep?" Eve nods and stayed as the lady closes her eyes. As the night is getting deeper, Luna fell asleep.

Eve fixes her lady's hair before going back to her bed. As she removes her uniform, Azareth presence came. "Do you know the answer?" At this time, he doesn't come to Eve's master's burial.

"How would I know?"

"That girl just showed you happiness isn't it?" Happiness... Eve doesn't even know if being with the lady will be considered as happiness.

"My lady is acting strange. Perhaps, did you do something? Her aura is not the same as before."

"You only need to find the answer my child and you can live with emotions and die as a normal person." Although Azareth is not sure about whether that'll work.

All he could ever do now is to watch his creation turns into a normal person and die as his normal creation.

"You really love to see me in this state. You betrayed me. You know I can die with no emotions, but you chose to give me a curse."

"I am waiting for my own creation to have feelings and to love someone. I wanted to see you improve. That's why I wanted you to possessed immortality. Don't lose hope. In this life, I know you'll be able to find the answer." Eve just stare at her bed and let her eyes rest.

She's tired of living. But she have no choice, but to fight. After commiting too many suicides, she learned that her face and personality will keep on recycling.

What's the point of commiting suicide all over again if she'll be reincarnated all over again?

As if she wanted to be created in the first place. But she's quite thankful for the ability and skills that Azareth gave her. It's too useful.

For the times that she's serving the Svena family, the war will always be in her way. If the new Emperor sits on the throne, A new war will begin again.

If she's not mistaken even though she declined the King's request, she can go inside and out of the Imperial palace. After all, she's the one who brought the Empire's victory through years.

She looks at her hand once again as she remembers Luna's warmth. It was like the couple's eyes. "She really got their attitude." For now, Eve can tell that her life in the past is just a test. And now is just the start of her new journey.

Whatever the Lady plans in the future, Eve will always be there to support her. As a knight and sword of the Svena family.

"Can you stay until I fall asleep?" As she thought, Luna, who's acting like a mature woman will always have a child's heart.
