Aelar wasn't a liar. He was a man of his word. In fact, he was so honest that he had never lied to anyone in his life. Basically, since he had given his words to the guiding archaic voice in his nightmare, he was going to act as the dark one's pathfinder

'I need to find him first.'

'But I don't know where to look for him or who he is.'

'He feels familiar like I have seen him somewhere other than my nightmare.'

'But I can't remember where or when.' 

Aelar felt that he was familiar with the Dark One, but he couldn't put a finger on his identity. That didn't change even as he racked his brain. In the end, he gave up, sighing,

'I can't remember who he is at all. It's a complete blank.' 

'Looks like I will need to seek professional help to find him.'
