Ch 43: Divine Water
As Valerius ventured deeper into the cave, the pleasant sound of the river outside gradually faded, replaced by the cave's silence, which was mixed in with the sound of his footsteps.
The further he went inside the cave, the more he felt disconnected from the outside world. Oddly enough, as this feeling grew, he felt enveloped by tranquility as if he had reached heaven. He hadn't felt this peaceful since he transmigrated. Considering where he was, alone in a damp and dark cave that was partially illuminated by a small floating orb of light, it was really weird to feel this way.
"Is there some kind of magic at play here?" he wondered. However, he didn't stop moving. He knew he wouldn't encounter any more life-threatening danger. In the novel, except for the snakes, there was no mention of any other living and moving creature in the cave.
At the end of the cave, he came upon a skeleton clad in worn and torn rags.
