Third person POV
And so, with that decision in mind, Lloyd and his subordinates went down to the capital's fortresses and gathered all of the prisoners of war from Langton in a big field some distance from the two fortresses. After that, once all the captured soldiers and military officials were gathered into 1 big group, Lloyd read the letter from Langton aloud to them, detailing its no need for them. After a few minutes, those prisoners of war were shocked that their home country didn't need them anymore and had thrown them out like, indeed, disposable trash. As a result, those discarded and displaced soldiers and military officials were angry and resentful of Langton for doing that to them.
"How could they?!"
"I had a family to take care of! They can't just do that to us now!"
"What should we do now?" one of the soldiers cried in despair.
Just as expected, Lloyd and his subordinates sympathized with them, offering them to come and live in their country instead, and even offering them to be part of Wooda's army as well. Those prisoners of war were stunned to hear such a good and kind offer from them whom they had offense against.
"Are you sure about that?" one of them asked them.
"What do you think of us?" another asked as well.
"We think of you humans as those who were forced and indoctrinated to kill us Undead animals," Sati boldly replied back.
Zeke, Lloyd, and the others then nodded to support his response.
"And plus, you can choose whether you want to be in the army full-time or part-time to have your normal lives outside of it," Lloyd added.
"It's up to you to decide for yourselves," Zeke added as well.
And so, those prisoners of war began to think and consider those options in their offer. After much deep thinking, half of them requested to be in their country's military full-time, while the remaining half requested to let them work in the military part-time because they wanted to have their normal lives outside of it. all of them even offered to leak out technological and tactical secrets to improve their military's current overhaul and technological equipment. Lloyd and his subordinates were surprised at their responses and thus, accepted it and welcomed them to their country.
And so, what had followed after that was a trial of them at Wooda's Main Court. There Lloyd presided as the judge at this trial. Bewote's residents are present doing their eyewitness testimonies against them. Gretchel and the others are also present, too. The courtroom had a rustic look, and the building itself was made of bricks and had tiled roofing and decided that those captured soldiers and military officials from Langton had done the raid at Bewote. Those prisoners of war are also willing to take any punishment first before integrating into the country.
But then, Lloyd decided that those prisoners of war were told and indoctrinated by Langton to exterminate the Undead animals and steal their resources; thus, they are guilty, but on a lighter level. So, the Village Chieftain had their criminal charges dropped, much to their surprise.
After the trial, those former citizens of Langton had integrated into Wooda's society very well. They did their roles and positions in the military according to their requests and even shared military technological secrets to improve their overhaul. And a month later, those humans managed to rebuild their lives with willingness and fulfillment. Wooda's army became stronger thanks to the humans' technological innovations like muskets. Lloyd and his subordinates were happy that they managed to help them find a new home in Wooda. Their other human friends were also happy for them and the humans who now settled and lived in Wooda. So much so, Lloyd penned a response letter to Langton about the current status of its former soldiers and military officials as a gesture of friendly retaliation against them. And in just less than a day, Alberto and his court in Langton's capital were shocked at Lloyd's letter to them. Allen and Danica, meanwhile, saw that and kept their visit to Wooda a secret.
