Chapter 27 – Jasiel, the King of Kalelis

Third person POV

Upon landing on solid ground, Zeke and Hale transformed to their human form, and said to them with a quick bow, "Greetings." Pointing their spears towards them, the two palace guards demanded an explanation regarding their intention of being there.

"We were sent by our leader to negotiate with your king for a trade agreement," Hale responded.

"What? Who's your leader, huh?" one of the guards replied in demanding.

"His name Lloyd Lewole, the chieftain of Wooda," Zeke answered back.

When they heard the name Wooda, they were shocked.

"That lowland full of Undead animal tribes?"

"Yes, it' s now an official country," Hale replied back.

But the guards are very skeptical because they never heard such a country before.

"I see, come with us," the second guard said to them.

He and his comrade then opened the door, and the four of them went in towards the king's court.

When they arrived there, the two guards kneeled before the king of Kalelis, Jasiel. "Your Majesty, some emissaries from a country called Wooda had come here for a trade negotiation." Jasiel Kalelis, a middle-aged, bearded man with dark brown hair and black eyes, was surprised to hear that because he never knew that nor was informed by any of his subordinates. "What? What kind of country it was?"

Then, his son, Chester, the brown haired, crowned prince of Kalelis, commented, "Wooda? That was the name of a lowland."

"Yes, and it's now a united country," Zeke responded.

"I see," Jasiel moved on his throne. "What kind of trade agreement your leader wants?"

He then realized that he didn't know what Lloyd's title was. "Wait, what title your leader took?"

"Your Majesty, it's village chieftain," Hale answered confidently. "He became our leader after most of our tribes united with his."

 "Ah, okay."

"The trade agreement will be like this: Allow our goods to be imported to your kingdom and allow us to buy your goods in exchange," Zeke responded.

Earlier, Lloyd gave instructions to him on the details of the trade agreement.

"Sure, we can do that," Jasiel responded with some agreement. "I'll negotiate with our merchants to do just that. Anyhow, what else other than that?"

But since they didn't have any instructions other than that trade agreement from Lloyd, Zeke and Hale just responded, "Nothing. Just a trade agreement."

While Chester agrees, one of the king's officials thinks that it was a bad idea.

"But Your Highness, it must be a trick to drain our goods to some unknown country," he expressed his suspicion.

"Let's just give it a try," Jasiel responded.

Clenching his fists, that official hastily went to the two Undead animals. "Their so-called village chieftain must be-"

But Hale loaded an arrow in her bow and pointed it at that official, threatening to shoot at him if he made another insult on Lloyd and this causes that official to back off.

This causes the palace guards and the rest of the king's officials to alerted by it.

But before Hale would let go of the string, Jasiel responded, "Please, forgive him. I'm sorry for his rudeness."

"Yes, we're sorry," Chester added in his father's behalf.

Eventually, Hale didn't shoot the arrow to the official and just removed it and put it back in her quiver. "It's okay, but I won't tolerate any insult to our master."

After that, Zeke came forward. "Alright, alright, Hale, that's enough. I got this."

Hale did so, and she back off, before Zeke took over for her.

"So, do you agree with that trade agreement?" he asked Jasiel.

 "Hmm..." Jasiel stroked his beard.

He then stand up and went down the steps. "I'll go and visit that country of yours to meet up with your leader and see it for myself, then I'll decide whether I should sign a trade agreement or not. Two days from now."

Eventually, Zeke and Hale agreed with him with a quick bow.

 "Thank you so much."

"We'll tell him about it when we arrived."

Zeke then get the rolled map of Wooda and give it to the king. "Here's the map of our country. Just go to the capital, Lewole."

Receiving the map, Jasiel unrolled the map and sees the capital marked by a star.

 "I see. Thank you."

They then turned back and left the court, before the two guards and some officials followed them from behind.

Once they are outside, Zeke and Hale transformed to their dragon and bird forms and flew away as the guards and officials watches from the porch.

Will Jasiel sign a trade agreement with Lloyd, or not?
