What if you were a modern man who was reincarnated into a medieval world of powerful men, but you were but a small girl without anything to your name? How would you survive? How would you cope with being a woman? What sort of heights could you reach without any cheat systems or super advanced knowledge from the internet? Well come and find out how Bruce a former undercover police officer deals with this situation and his/her constantly changing body. The picture is not mine. It's AI generated and shows you what the protagonist is maybe going to look like in the future of this story.
Another week of work and peace had gone by in the royal Castle of Camelot. Lili had managed to deliver potatoes to Wilfred with instructions on how to make them tasty and how to plant them. Seeing the potatoes the young man hadn't seemed happy at all, mostly just confused and repulsed by what he saw.
Wilfred didn't seem capable of seeing the similarities between chips and potatoes. He thought it to be a joke and he didn't seem interested in the plant at all now. It was as if the potatoes bland look and simpleness made it seem unreliable to him. To add to this, he was also quite shocked to hear that potatoes didn't grow above ground, but under it. Which apparently was bad in his opinion.
Despite this the man had agreed to at least try them out and try planting them. Although he first did want to see a demonstration of them being made into food and so Lili invited him into her Inn that was opening on Monday. And Wilfred agreed.
Sure this was not exactly what Lili had expected of the man, but he was a medieval man who hadn't apparently heard or seen potatoes before. So his reactions were reasonable as the Queen and Edgar hadn't even gone as far as to ask for the potatoes, they were just happy with the fish and chips that Lili had provided them a few times.
And as for Edgar, the boy had seemed to warm up to her suddenly. He actively tried to approach her, give her rare flowers as gifts and even some clover and turnips as that was something that she had talked of. Truly being a girl was nice as she didn't even have to try and go make friends as people seemed more than happy to come to her.
Although the boy didn't seem interested at all whenever she tried to explain the greatness of the agricultural revolution to him. Or the greatness of the blueprints that she had made.
The blueprints which the Queen had taken, thanked her for and said that she would look into them, but nothing was ever heard of it. To her it felt like the Queen was not taking her seriously at all, the Queen acted as if those blueprints were but drawings of a silly little girl. And as such she had began making more and handing them out to Wilfred and Edgar. Who both took them, but didn't take a look at them.
Despite this Lili didn't loose hope and so she made more. She started designing the Cotton Gin, a thing that while not good here, she could use it in the underground to increase the production of cotton there. Cotton that they had already started harvesting.
She began working on creating the blueprints for the watermills and the spinning wheel. The watermill if made could be a proof of her genius to these people, but the spinning wheel was really useful for her and her sisters to have, and as such that was also something that she intended to make herself if she had to.
Then there was the technique of fish farming that she could possibly use within the underground. Another thing was the butter churn that she could use to turn cream into butter. and another was the making of whiskey and other alcohol in general, the Appertisation method, which is a method for preserving food, she started making designs for different equipment for the kitchen, farms, gliders for flying and maybe a parachute to go with the glider or even the making of the printing press.
Lost within her thoughts Lili had found herself remembering and coming up with so many things that she had seen in her past. Although they were mostly things about farming, cooking and hygiene, like the toothbrush and such.
Overall her mind was just full of ideas that she wanted to see made, but the problem was how could she see them done. She needed a sponsor. Maybe the princesses, well yes, but no. The princesses didn't hold much power, she needed Queen Wilda, Wilfred Westfield and Edgar Lionheart on her side.
With this in mind she had made sure to invite them all to the opening of her new Inn on Monday. And so as time went and came, so too did Monday come.
It was late in the evening, as people were getting off of work that the Inn was set to open. Lili and all the girls were wearing old German waitress style dresses called Dirndl. Which basically consisted of a bodice, skirt, blouse, and apron.
Although all the girls had a bit different designs to this, some had their shoulders hands and a good amount of cleavage showing, with stockings covering their legs, and others didn't or just had different mixes of this. But all had a red and white colour mix to their outfits, with some having their hairs tied like Lili into twin tails with ribbons as other had their hair be loose.
But all dresses were made by the girls themselves and out of cotton, which was extremely breathable and great for the girls skins.
In the front was Lili with the little Russian girl Nene and her Mom ready to welcome the guests and find seats for them. While the waitresses and cooks were all a mix bag of either, southeners or red haired Lycan's.
All though this did concern Lili as to how people would react to the Lycan's, and so Chad and Jack were keeping watch over the place as security.
The place was tidy and clean. The fireplace was bringing warmth to the Inn and outside there were signs promoting the low cost of all the food in the Inn. A nervous atmosphere of anticipation for what was to come looked over the Inn, but Lili was excited nonetheless as everything was now ready.
As the minutes drew near, Lili stepped outside with Jack to her side and began yelling to the passerby's on the street. "Good people of Camelot, good people of Albion and all people around, come and see the opening of my little lantern Inn! Come inside and fill your bellies with dishes and drink cheaper than any other, but better than all other! Or well at least it's unlike any other that you have probably tasted before! So come and enjoy the night in Lilis Little Lantern Inn!"
This Lili repeated a few times and soon men, women, children and all started gathered around to see what was going on. Some apologised and said. "Sorry girl, I ain't got no coin to toss around for drinks and all."
To this Lili merely pointed to the wooden board next to the stone steps for answers. There were small pictures painted by Lili herself, with illustrations of the food and the prices written next to them.
Pointing to it, Lili then said to them all. "Look there people, for there you can see most of all we have to offer here and the low prices of them all. And I know five small copper coins for an entire Apple pie might sound unreal, but worry not for it is very much real. And just like the prices are real, so too are all the foods you see there, foods that you might have never seen before, but worry not for they are most definitely worth the price and more."
To these the people seemed to act somewhat suspiciously to, but then voices of a few children were heard calling out to their parents saying. "Ooh Mom, I want the tasty pizza. Pretty please Mom, can I please have a tasty pizza?"
To this the mother said. "Hmm, well it is only only 4 small copper coins. So yeah, sure why not. Let's try it."
"Oh Dad, can I please have the Extra large Chips? Please? It's only two small copper coins, its even less than a full loaf of bread."
To Lilis amazement soon people began pouring into the Inn, kids first followed by the adults. Seeing this Lili felt that her job here was done and so she quickly headed inside with Jack to deal with the next problem.
Squeezing past the crowd, Lili immediately began to hear concerned voices up ahead saying. "Mom, look she's got red eyes and hair like those monsters daddy fights against."
The crowd suddenly came to a stop, murmurs and gasps were heard. Some women in the front started to back away as if they were about to flee.
The little Nene was timid and quiet not knowing what to say as she stood at the side looking at this all. Accalia was shaking her hands in the air as she innocently tried to smile and assure them all. "Don't worry, I'm not a part of Lilis pack and would not hurt anyone for no reason. I'm harmless, I swear. Just ask Sir Chad Armstrong here if you don't believe me."
Seeing this Lili felt relieved, Mom was doing just as they had practiced. She held a smile and her hands to her side clearly indicating that she meant no harm. She even spoke nicely and with a gentle tone, but still the people didn't seem convinced.
Now Lili knew not what to do, as things seemed not so good. Maybe she should have waited for the Royal family to arrive first after all.
But then, as all hope seemed lost and the sight of a fleeing mob seemed imminent, Chad stepped forward as did Jack. Jack came past the crowd and without noticing pushed Lili to the ground as he stepped next to Chad as Chad explained. "Calm down people, we the knights are here for your protection and theirs. Under our watch we assure you all that you will be safe. For these Lycan's have been pacified by us, and so we can assure you all of their loyalty and good manners."
Lili crawled past the crowd and to the girls as she then saw some kids seemingly getting exited. They seemed awed by the sight of the two knights and some seemed intrigued by Mom's appearance.
Seeing this Lili quickly got to her feet, grabbed Nenes hand snapping her back into reality and then they with Mom quickly started to lead the people further inside the Inn.
The people themselves as they got past the whole Lycan thing seemed amazed by all that they saw. And indeed it was quite awe inspiring to see. All the lion head carpets, rugs and banners were made of cotton and absolutely beautiful. The Inn also had quite a homy atmosphere to it and it was warm and well lit with many chandeliers.
Although as Lili started to sit the first people down in the center of the Inn, she noticed some people turning around at the entrance. Their faces didn't seem too pleased to say the least with the sight of the Lycan's there. Some even seemed ready to start spitting on the ground and hurling insults at them, but they were immediately warned or kicked out by Jack and Chad.
And so the atmosphere quickly began calming down. Waiters came to take people's orders, the kitchen began heating up as food began to be made. Men came to the bar to make orders of alcoholic drinks that were quite few in variety, but much better and different than anything else in Albion. Or well that was what Lili figured them to be as her alcoholic drinks had things like sugar added into them.
Like so the Inn quickly started filling up and as people began getting their first orders, which a lot of them were quite simple, people were nonetheless amazed.
For the boy who ordered Extra Large Chips he and his father were stunned to see a large plate full of golden chips. Plus a bottle of ketchup was given to them as well.
Next to them the waitress made sure to explain the whole ketchup thing and chips as well, before saying. "Please enjoy and call on me if there's anything more you wish to order or simply wish to say."
Because potatoes grew extra large and extra fast in the underground, Lili had made the decision to make the chips sizes super large as well. Nearly a kilograms worth actually. A amount that would surely be enough even for three adult men.
And to add even more to the confusion the waitress had even given the two, two big glasses with pure apple juice. Apple juice that had come straight out of the extra fast growing apple trees that had already began bearing fruit. And not just any fruit, but extra large and juicy fruits.
And as for the tasty pizza, well it was a family sized large pizza. A pizza that was mostly full of vegan things as due to the famine meat, fish and things like cheese were expensive. Lili only grew plants in the underground and so that was what she mostly sold here, plant based things with some added meat and other things.
Soon the Inn began to be filled with mouth watering scents of different fast foods of Lilis past, the scent of pies and all sorts of tasty mouth watering foods. People began to eat and as they did they began to talk, and as their bellies filled up more, they ordered more and talked more. Smiles were seen all around, people chatted and it seemed really good.
The people seemed a bit hesitant to speak to the Lycan waiters and kept their distance, only calling on the none Lycan waiters, but that was alright. If the Lycan's would not be called by the people then they could still clean and do other things. The most important thing was that the people just got accustomed to the sight of the Lycan's and that was good for now.
With the mood now right, Lili left Accalia and the timid Nene in charge of the front. For Lili had another task to play at the stage. And as she got on the stage, it began raining heavily outside. It was a storm that poured down water heavily against the Inns windows.
It seemed that it was going to be another cold and rainy night again, but that was ok. Inside the Inn there was warmth, there was food, there was the people's company and soon there would be music.
Grabbing a Lute, sitting upon the stool set up on the stage, eyes began to gather upon her. A feeling of nostalgia came over Lili as she looked to the people and began her holsome melody.
Playing the Lute like the guitar of her past Lili then began to sing an uplifting song. A song about waiting for the sun and better days to come.
Quickly the Inn quieted down into only soft murmurs as people listened to Lilis song as they ate and drank. For the people it had been long since last they had heard of such a lovely well sung song and so they listened and enjoyed themselves.
And as the song came to a close, people applauded, cheered and asked for more. Lili seeing this was overjoyed, a feeling of nostalgia ran over her and in that moment she felt at home. There was no nervousness or feelings of anxiety within her as all that had been overcome with relief in seeing the people's smiles and happiness.
To not only bring joy through song, but also feed the peoples hungry bellies for such a low price was her source of joy. And not only were their bellies being filled, but their wounds and diseases were also being healed. For within the Inn and the food there was a secret.
While Lilis grown food brought the people all and more nutrients and vitamins that they might ever need. The Inn in itself also held a healing effect, for under its center most carpet which had the long table upon it, there was a secret hidden deep within. And that secret was simply a large light stone that healed and brought warmth to all within the Inn.
Knowing this Lili happily then began her other song and so the night went on, and so it was good for a time. People came and hardly any left, the Inn was nearly packed full. Only the right side of the Inn that was fenced off and held four sofas and two low tables vacant.
Then as an hour passed, commotion was heard outside. Three fancy and large carriages with the latest technology, mainly springs in their wheels came. And of them the three families came.
The doors to the Inn were opened and 12 heavily armoured royal guards marched on in. Their armour made a light clacking sound as their heavy armor-clad footsteps seemed to make the ground quake.
Gasps were heard, people made way for the armoured men, as children looked to the armoured men in awe. Whispers were heard. "Have they come for the Lycans?" "See, what did I tell you, it was a mistake to come to a place were those dogs lay."
Then as the armoured men formed up, the Queen came into the people's awe. After her came the two princesses and after that Edgar, Linn and lastly Wilfred.
People were taken a back by this and all fell into silence and to their knees. They kneeled to their Queen and showed their loyalty to her, some more quickly than others.
Seeing this all the waitresses and staff of the Inn did the same. The Queen looked over them all, smiled towards Lili who sat in silence and then the Queen looked to the busty Accalia.
Lili watched in anticipation, as the Queen spoke to Accalia and said. "So what's your name Lycan?"
Accalia glanced at Lili, Lili nodded her head and so Accalia looked to the Queen feet and said. "Your Majesty, I am called Accalia Lucania."
The Queen showed a satisfied smile and said. "Very good, then show us to our seats. I assume you can do that, Accalia Lucania?"
To Lili the Queens words sounded quite hostile, but the Queen kept taking small glances at her and seemed to be holding herself back for Lilis sake.
Accalia got up, bowed once to the Queen and led her and the others to the sofas. As she walked the Queen looked to Lili and said. "Get on with it."
And so Lili began to play again, music filled the Inn. People carefully got back up to their feet and continued to eat, but more slowly than before. The atmosphere was a bit tense, none dared to look towards the nobility.
Royal guards stood watch in front of the fenced off area and at the Inns entrance. No one dared to make trouble any more and the night proceeded peacefully.
