Chapter 1

I was fifteen years old when I realized that my life was never going to be the same again.

Growing up, things had never been easy for me. My family was poor, and we struggled to make ends meet. But we were happy, or at least I thought we were.

I had always known that I was different from the other kids in my neighborhood. I was taller, stronger, and faster than anyone else my age. But it wasn't until I started having strange dreams that I realized just how different I really was.

In my dreams, I was someone else entirely. I was the son of a powerful demon king, living in a world of magic and wonder. I had everything I could ever want - wealth, power, and respect. I could do things that others couldn't, things that were beyond the realms of possibility.

But as much as I wanted to believe that my dreams were just that - dreams - I couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more to them. That maybe, just maybe, they were memories of a life I had lived before.

I tried to dismiss these thoughts as crazy, but they refused to go away. And as I grew older, the dreams became more intense, more vivid. It was like I was being pulled back to a place that I couldn't quite remember, but that I somehow knew I belonged.

I told my parents about my dreams, hoping that they would be able to help me make sense of them. But they just looked at me with concern and told me to try to get more rest. They didn't understand, and I couldn't blame them. How could they possibly understand something that I couldn't even begin to comprehend myself?

I tried to push the dreams out of my mind and focus on my life in the present. I went to school, did my homework, and helped out around the house as much as I could. But I couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing, that there was more to my life than what I was experiencing.

And then, one day, everything changed.

I was walking home from school, lost in thought as usual, when I saw something that stopped me in my tracks. A woman, standing on the corner across the street from me, staring at me with a look of recognition on her face.

I froze, unable to look away as she approached me. She was tall and slender, with long dark hair and piercing green eyes. She was unlike anyone I had ever seen before, and for a moment, I couldn't help but feel like I knew her.

"Griffin," she said, her voice low and husky. "It's been a long time."

I stared at her, my heart pounding in my chest. "Do I know you?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

She smiled and reached out to touch my face. "Yes, you know me," she said. "You just don't remember yet. But you will, soon enough."

I took a step back, feeling overwhelmed and confused. "What do you mean, I'll remember?" I asked.

The woman's smile faded, and she looked at me with a seriousness that sent a shiver down my spine. "You have a destiny, Griffin," she said. "A destiny that you cannot escape. And I have come to help you fulfill it."

I shook my head, not wanting to believe what she was saying. "I don't understand," I said. "I'm just a kid from a poor family in the United States. I don't have any special destiny."

The woman's eyes narrowed, and for a moment, I saw something in them that frightened me - a depth of knowledge and power that seemed almost otherworldly. "You are much more than that, Griffin," she said. "You are the son of the demon king, reincarnated in this world to fulfill a purpose that only you can fulfill. And if you don't embrace your true identity and your destiny, the consequences will be dire."

I looked at her, unsure of what to say. Part of me wanted to run away, to forget about this crazy woman and the impossible things she was saying. But another part of me was drawn to her, to the possibility of discovering the truth about myself.

"What do I do?" I asked, my voice shaking.

The woman smiled again, and this time it reached her eyes. "The first thing you need to do is believe," she said. "Believe in yourself, and in your destiny. It won't be easy, but it's the only way you'll be able to fulfill your purpose."

I nodded, trying to absorb everything she was telling me. "And then what?" I asked.

"Then, you need to start training," she said. "You have a lot of catching up to do, and the only way to do that is to practice. I'll help you, of course, but you'll need to put in the work if you want to become strong enough to face the challenges ahead."

I swallowed, feeling a sense of determination starting to build inside of me. "I'll do it," I said. "I'll do whatever it takes to become the person I'm supposed to be."

The woman nodded, a look of approval on her face. "I knew you would," she said. "You have the potential to be great, Griffin. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

With that, she turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, feeling more confused and alone than Iever had before.

I had no idea who that woman was, or what she wanted from me. But I knew one thing for certain: my life was never going to be the same again.
