It is past five. I worked overtime again because of (what they call) Sloth Beast Syndrome. While I was mopping the floors, I smelled a scent of lemon pastries nearby. I was hungry because I forgot to bring my bag of free apples from the market yesterday. My stomach was in a lot of pain. So....I followed the scent to the staff meeting office. What I saw was heaven for me. Cakes, pies, tarts all matter of sugar despite there being normal food. It looked like a Class Reunion, so I know that I will get in trouble if I, a complete stranger just happen to eat up their food because of a major stomach problem. I stuggled, but for some reason, I blacked out. The next thing I know, I woke up with the boss shaking me by the collar, screaming at me.

"Damn it, Night! How many times do I have to tell you to eat before you come to work huh?! Thanks to you, the collaboration is cancelled!! You embarrassed me in front of everyone! Hey, are you listening?!"

*Gee, please...sorry for my little accident. It is not my fault that....hey...is he a talking Dango..?*

"Hehehe."

I got up and sit like a cat, and stroke the Dango's face.

"Uh...Night..are you--"

I then bite at it on the cheek.

*Chomp*

"AAAAAAAAA!!!"

"SOMEONE GET HIS MEDICINE!!!!"

"Someone call the doctor!!!"

Just the thought of it makes my face red. Now I have to work extra hours just to make ends meet. *Scoff* just my luck.

*Rumble*

Now, it is going to rain soon. Can it get any worse?

"Helloooo!!!"

"Stupid huumaaans! Adopt us for free!"

What the heck?

I follow the voices and came to a cardboard box. What I saw bewildered me. I without my knowledge crouch down and examine them.

There are two.... little human....creatures. One is a female with pink hair and antlers, dressed in a simple white dress. She has pale green eyes and has milk colored skin. The other is male, tan and have wild raised black hair, red eyes, pointed ears and a monkey like tail. He has a black body suit on. He look at me with annoyed eyes. They are the size of two tennis balls. Now, I am curious. I put my elbow on my knee and propt my head.

"..... who the heck are you...?"

The tan one was taken aback.

"Wh-what is with that attitude?! Haven't seen a Uko before?"

"Uh?"

"Ukos, creatures that are popular now days?"

"Seen in stores?"

".........no.."

The tan one got more pissed.

"Ukos are animals that have evolved to be close to humans. We are popular, but we are rare too."

I suddenly felt a shock spread throughout my body.

Hey that sounded like....

"Now are you going to adopt us or--"

*Puuurrrrr*

The two look at me in confusion.

I move close to them and sniffed them. Yes...they are indeed young. Where are their mothers?

*Puurrrrrrrrr*

"Stupid Human!"

"Is he purring at us?"

I was about to lick them to clean them when--

*Drip, Drip, Drip, Pour*

I snap back.

"Kenoji, it's raining!"

"I know!"

The two started panicking.

"Sir, you go home. We'll be okay."

"Of course! Why should he cared about us? He is human, isn't he?

I shift back.

*Grrrrrrr*

"Uhhh, sir?"

"Why are you acting like that all of a sudden?"

I pounce on them, grabbing the collar.

"Aaaaaa!"

"Stupid Human! What are you doing?!"

I high tailed home.

When I got there, I was half soaked. I climb to the second story window and went inside. I close the window and turned on the light. I drop them on the bed.

"Idiot, why you napped us?"

The pink one look at me with fright.

The tan one countinues to yell at me, annoying me with his nagging.

Please, be quiet.

I turned to him.

*Hiiiiisssss*

He jump back and trembled.

I went to the wardrobe and pull out the bottom drawer. I toss all the human things out, and set it in front of the mirror. I went to the storage closet outside the room and pull out a soft towel and a face towel. I went back and start setting it up.

"He's..."

"I know."

After it is done, I went to the kitchen to prepare dinner. I came back with it and place it on the side. Seeing that it is finished, I lay on my side and propt my head. I look at them, waiting.

*Puuurrrrr*

They look at each other.

I close my eyes. Waiting patiently.

After a few minutes, one came and sat down. I open one of my eyes and see the pink one. She look at me with a little fear, but she is settling down. My eyes slowly shift to the tan one. He looked at me with distrust. After a moment, he jump from the bed and walk over. He sat down, looking the other way and gritting his teeth.

"Stupid Human, treating us like---"

"Mmmm, these meatballs are good!"

The tan one see his companion feasting. He is in complete shock.

"A-aetre!"

Aetre, does not hear him but countinues to eat. Feeling left out, he snatch one and eats while mumbling under his breath.

After, three minutes, the plate was empty.

The tan one becomes impatient.

"Anything else, if not--"

I gently grab his face and lifts it up. A expression of disapproval appears on my face. I then look at the girl and peer at her face. My expression becoming more grim.

"W-what is it?"

"What? Is there something on our faces?"

"Grrrr."

"What? Spit it out?"

"Dirt."

"Huh?"

"There's dirt on your faces."

If I don't clean them there'll be hardships. I have to nip the problem now.

I lift the tan one up. His eyes widen.

"You better not--"

*Lick*

"Nyyyaaaaaa!!!"
