I Am Your Clock!

This novel is in the Webnovel Spirity Awards 2023 competition for ML: New Tropes: Unique Systems and Kingdom Building. Updated every day ——— I was like you once, but now I am in some place. What is this place? Why is it all black, but I can still see myself? Where am I? Who am I? Am I still the person who I think I am? Am I Matthias the Human? Or… am I something else?

Ch 13: I am a Politician Part 2

Authors note: The Webnovel team has informed me that the book will be recommended on the New Releases section tomorrow, and I think that I'm starting to notice a pattern. Every three days, I get new recommendations for my book, so guess I'm waiting for Tuesday, huh?

We also are at rank 1000, although thats probably just because other books haven't gotten many powerstones yet after the reset.

Either way, I still wanna thank all of you for getting me this far just from a little fan fic I started wrote out of boredom.

"I am the God of Time."

Audible gasps were heard at this. I ignore them and simply continue.

"I do not know how many of you know what Ekaku has done."

"He killed his father for power."

"He abused people in his greed."

"He was not the previous Ekaku you all admired."

"And now… He is dead."

"Tell me, how long did he stand there? In the position of the leader of the tribe? Raping women, starving children, and beating men within an inch of their life, all for his own entertainment…"

"How did this happen?"

I stay silent for a moment, then continue. "It isn't your fault. Some may have known, some may have not."

"Regardless of what you had know, it is not important. The fact regardless was that you lived in fear. Fear can cripple a man, far beyond what a mortal wound can. Fear can even injure the Gods. Who am I to expect you to ignore what can hurt I?"

"You felt fear when you thought of rising up against the corruption, you felt fear when he raised his hand to you, you simply felt fear."

"Tell me, is that how people should live?"

"Rotting in their homes, their children raised to not follow the leader of their own tribe because he can't be trusted? Abused and beaten beyond recognition?"

..,

"NO! Each and every one of you is a human being! Do you believe that 'Oh, I can't fight because I'm too weak, or too old, or too young,' That isn't true!"

"You are who you believe yourself to be! If a tree cut itself down, then it will fall!"

"You simply have to understand that I may not be able to do anything, but I can still try!"

"The child beside me looks young, right? He looks weak, right? Wrong! This child helped fight against this corrupt government with his own two hands! He is the very example of 'I have to try'!"

"He has lived to tell the tale that all of you fear to do yourselves!"

"WHY CAN'T YOU?"

"SIMPLE! BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN'T!"

"DO YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU CAN PROGRESS WITH YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR ALLIES, YOUR WIFES, YOUR CHILDREN, ANYONE IF YOU ARE TOO AFRAID TO STEP FORWARD?"

"Maz stepped forward." As I say that, Maz literally stepped forward, next to the podium where I sat.

"Koshia stepped forward."

She stepped next to the podium.

"And I stepped forward, to create something that the three of us believe to be beautiful."

"A world where you won't be abused for the slightest inconveniences; A world where your children can be safe, and a world that has not been seen on this planet yet."

"We created a nation, a country, a society."

"…"

"We created a home."

"For the people, who have believed themselves unsafe, under the reign of a tyrant."

"By the people, the very people that you are stand beside me, rising to the fear of the same tyrant."

"Of the people, who stay, remain safe."

"In our new home, Kutaun."

"You, your children, your neighbors, and your family will finally… be safe." I end my speech.

It was quiet.

Then, deafening cheering was heard all throughout the village, accompanied by sounds of crying in the villagers happiness. The infants that were left home due to fear of them being executed for suddenly whining started crying from the noise interrupting their sleep.

I smile as I get a notification.

Meanwhile…

"Hello, my son, what do you need?" A fatherly figure garbed in white clothing, stained at the cuffs of his shirt by a red substance, stood on a dirt path in a group of 20 tipi houses in a large field of nothing but grass and shrubs. In the distance, a forest and a mountain could be seen. A child grabbed at the bottom of his shirt, as that was all he could reach.

"Mama's sick, please come help!"

"Of course, my son." He smiled warmly. The child waddled away to a tiki on the fringe of the group, with the flap closed, which was strange as it was a nice day with the sun shining.

The child approached the closed flap and pushed it to the side, keeping it closed for privacy. The man followed suit, assuming that there was something bad enough that they want to keep it quiet.

A women lay on what looked like a wolf fur 'futon' if you could call it that, breathing heavily and with a large growth half the size of her head attached to her shoulder.

The man frowned. 'Cancer? This bad? If it was Earth, she would die regardless of our efforts…'

"Please help him, Father Garcia!"

He smiled. 'But this, this is not Earth.' "Identify!" He yelled aloud as he touched the strange growth.

(Notice: Disease Identified: Stage 3 Cancer + Large Neoplasm)

The man shuddered slightly, amazed that someone from this day and age could survive this long with something like this.

He immediately got to work. "Cure!" He shouted once more as he touched the tumour.

It didn't take long before it started to shrink. It looked… slightly grotesque, as it pulsated and shrunk in some places while others enlarged slightly then shrunk, but at the end of the day, it works!

The man sighed. 'Thank god it was cancer, I can just take the energy from the abnormal cells and have that energy destroy itself. Now I don't have to waste any of my energy.' Then he laughed. 'Well, I guess I have to rephrase that. Thank ME it was cancer. I am the Eldritch of Life, after all.'
