Mount Oeyama.

As Kaito and his companions passed through the dark, winding canyon and arrived beneath the castle tower, they heard Yūrei's voice from above.

"Little Kaito."

Kaito looked up to see the girl in colorful clothes gracefully descending from the high tower.

"Welcome back."

Her gentle voice whispered in his ear as Yūrei wrapped her arms around his neck.

"I'm back."

Kaito naturally placed one arm around her waist and gently patted her back with the other.

"We're heading back first," Izuna said, flashing through the gate.

Chiri covered her mouth with a smile and also disappeared from the spot.

Standing behind Kaito, Gurē observed with bright eyes and exclaimed, "Lady Yūrei was really anxious, hehe."

Asumi weakly added, "Lady Yūrei is happy to see Lord Kaito."

"I know, I know."

Even the other yokai guarding the tower jumped down.

"Lady Yūrei has been waiting at the tower for three days."

"That's what you call looking forward to it!"

Kaito felt Yūrei's body stiffen for a moment before she buried her face in his chest.

"What's wrong?" He stroked her smooth hair.

Yūrei pressed her forehead against his shoulder and shook her head gently.

The yokai continued their enthusiastic discussion.

"Eh, do you need to hug for so long when welcoming someone home? My mom doesn't hug me when I come home."

"That's because you come home every day. Lord Kaito hasn't returned in a year!"

"Oh..."

"So, if they haven't seen each other for a hundred years, would they hug for a long time?"

"Pro... probably."

"Lady Yūrei and Lord Kaito are such a perfect match!"

"Yes, yes, even though there's a big age difference, it doesn't matter!"

Yūrei, leaning on Kaito's shoulder, slightly raised her head, glaring at Gurē with a menacing look.

"I..." Gurē shivered, almost reverting to his original form. "Did I say something wrong?"

Yūrei didn't speak but continued to glare at him fiercely.

The other little yokai were still cluelessly discussing.

"What does age matter?"

"We're yokai; even if Lady Yūrei is much older than Lord Kaito, it doesn't matter."

"Yeah, yokai and humans are different!"

It was as if Yūrei had been struck by invisible arrows. Her hands weakened as she released Kaito and swayed slightly.

"Hmm? What's wrong?" Kaito quickly held her waist.

"I'm fine," Yūrei looked up with a forced smile. "Kaito, you should go back first. I have some things to take care of here."

"What is it? Can I help?" Kaito smiled at her.

Yūrei brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "No need, Kaito. You must be tired from the journey. Go take a nice hot bath."

"It's fine. My real body is already taking a bath!" Kaito grinned smugly. "I couldn't stand not being able to clean up properly for days!"

"Oh?" Yūrei lowered her head, her long hair covering her face. "What are you talking about?"

"I said, my real body is already home!" Kaito smiled brightly. "Don't worry, Yūrei."

"Uchi! Ha! Kaito!"

Yūrei tightly gripped "Kaito's" arms.

Dark energy surged from Yūrei's body as she slightly lifted her head, revealing crimson eyes among her hair.

Snap!

A flash of blue light passed, and Yūrei was left holding a torn paper figure.

"Wha... what's wrong with Lady Yūrei?"

"So scary, so scary, so scary..."

"And you all!!!" Yūrei's terrifying aura enveloped the group of trembling little yokai. "How bold of you."

"Wha... what's wrong?" Gurē tried to stand tall, hands on his hips. "I'm... I'm Kaito's best friend!"

Uchiha Residence, Mount Oeyama

Kaito was leisurely soaking in the bath.

Hmm? What happened?

Sensing the disappearance of his clone, he felt puzzled.

Did Yūrei get angry?

Why?

He stood up, changed into a clean bathrobe, and walked to the courtyard.

The sound of clashing swords filled the air as Izuna sparred with Sasuke.

Chiri, sitting on the porch, smiled as she watched. Hearing footsteps, she turned her head in surprise.

"Kaito, why are you here?"

"Hmm?" Kaito sat down beside her. "I wanted to take a bath, so I came back first."

Chiri blinked, struggling to speak. "Then, at the gate?"

"That was a clone." Kaito dried his hair with a towel. "It's all the same anyway."

"You..." Chiri looked at Kaito with new eyes, then covered her face. "Really... I feel sorry for Yūrei."

Hearing Kaito's response, Izuna, who was fighting, couldn't help but stumble.

But Sasuke continued his attacks smoothly.

"I'm done!"

Izuna swiftly ended the fight and flashed to Kaito's side, knocking on his head.

"Idiot! Go apologize to Yūrei!"

"Huh? Why?" Kaito rubbed his head, feeling wronged.

"Uncle," Sasuke walked over.

"Sasuke!" Kaito waved. "Let me see how your training is going!"

"Listen properly, idiot!!" Izuna angrily knocked on Kaito's head again.

"Aw?!" Kaito looked at Izuna, confused. "What's going on? Did I do something that needs apologizing?"

Sasuke also sat down, looking at Izuna with the same puzzled expression.

What absolute idiots! Izuna felt helpless.

"Kaito," Chiri spoke up with a renewed spirit, "you must apologize."

"Huh?"

Kaito and Sasuke turned to her simultaneously.

"I understand that, for you, using a clone is the same as doing something yourself, with no difference between the two," Chiri explained softly.

Kaito nodded repeatedly.

"But when Yūrei personally went to greet you, you must respond with your real self," Chiri urged. "Imagine, if you personally went to greet someone and they only sent a clone, how would you feel?"

"Is that so?" Kaito scratched his head, troubled. "If it were me, I wouldn't mind such a thing."

Sasuke had a "what a hassle" expression on his face.

"In any case," Chiri felt at a loss for words, giving Kaito a firm push, "Yūrei must be really angry now. Go apologize quickly!"

"Alright, since you all say so." Kaito reluctantly stood up. "I'll go apologize then."

As his figure disappeared around the hallway corner, Chiri covered her face again.

"That child must have spent too little time interacting with humans." She seemed a bit remorseful. "I didn't teach him well in this area."

"Granny Chiri," Sasuke spoke, "does Uncle have a problem? Why does he need to apologize?"

"!!!"

Could this be a hereditary condition?

Chiri and Izuna stared at Sasuke with newfound curiosity.
