I Am The Witness

The life of a 26-year old author, Aixela Louisiana Supresencia, was simple with her mother and sister who raised her. Aixela was orphaned early because of a mishap that caused her to meet the man who turned into her inspiration in writing her novels. This man is the one who saved her life. Aixela dreams of becoming a famous author like her late mother but the right time for her rise has not yet come so she just continues to write and take care of their family business where she met her boyfriend Louis. Her relationship with her boyfriend went well until it gradually cooled down and changed. One day she decided to visit the grave of her bereaved mother. She does it every year but unexpectedly, this visit will make a big difference in her life. On her way back to the airport, she accidentally witnessed a crime that caused her and Police Inspector John Dether Anton Dy Jr. to cross paths. Anton was the police officer who helped her when the culprit tried to chase her. He also provided a witness protection program to Aixela where they had to live under the same roof to guarantee her security. Anton has dreamed since he was a child to be a good detective like his late father and as he was preparing for his promotion test, he met Aixela which also caused him to change his outlook in life. The two did not get along well with each other at first, but later they became sympathetic to each other, especially when Anton helped Aixela to move on when she broke up with her long-term boyfriend who fooled her. Aixela, on the other hand, helped Anton prepare for his promotion test. The two became close to each other and investigated the case together. Along with the various trials they faced while resolving the case was the deepening of their feelings to each other until they discovered something.

Anton's Pov:

"Ok, I'll just wait for you to finish that."

"Is she my mother now? It's up to her to wait there, anyway." I just shook my head and continued reading.

Minutes later, I took the picture of my dad and me. This is our picture at school before he died.

"Papa, don't worry. Just be patient. I'll be a detective just like you. I'll pass that promotion test and find the person behind these killings."

I put the picture back on my desk and continued to study until I felt hungry.

"It's already 12 o'clock?" I didn't realize the time because of studying. I stretched before getting up. Before I could open the door, I noticed it was still bright outside.

"Huh? Is she still awake?"

When I opened the door, I saw that the food was still on the table. I turned to look at the sofa and saw her asleep while sitting.

Is she serious? She really waited for me?

"Hey!" I said and tapped her, but she didn't wake up. She seems to be fast asleep. "Hey!" I pushed her even harder and I was surprised when she fell which also caused me to lose my balance. Luckily I was able to hold on to the side of the sofa so I didn't lie down on her.

"You really are a trouble maker, huh?" I said and stood up while she was still sound asleep.

"Tss, never mind," I just said and started eating.

When I finished eating I was about to wash the dishes when I saw the container on the bar counter again.

"What is this?" I said while picking it up.

I removed the lid and sniffed. Looks delicious.

I looked at her sound asleep. "Secret, huh?"

I took a glass and poured a little from the milky in the container. I drank it and my eyes widened because of its taste. It's like a---

"Yogurt!" I said and took another drink again.

I really liked yogurt ever since I was young. This is also the way my father used to greet me every time he came home from work.

"Ahhh!" I burped as I drank the last glass of that yogurt.

"Oh!" I was surprised because I didn't expect to drink all that. I quickly washed it and went to the bedroom to sleep.

*kriingg*

I woke up when my alarm sounded. I immediately got up and when I came out of my room. I noticed that she was not on the sofa. When I looked at the main door, I saw her leaning against it while folding her arms.

"Why? Are you looking for me?" She asked and walked closer to the bar counter. "Are you going to explain this?" She said while showing me the empty container and glaring eyes looking at me.

"You already know the answer. Why are you still asking?" I replied.

"Seriously?" She said and placed her hands on her side. "Don't you know that it's mine, huh? If so, it's very impossible."

"Didn't you do that for me?" I asked.

"What?!" She yelled. "Are you crazy? Why would I make you some yogurt? Assuming!"

"If not, why did you do that?"

"Obviously? I want yogurt. So I made it so I could drink it. But, unfortunately, someone interfered."

"You don't have your name on there. How can I know that it's yours?"

"Arrgh!" She exclaimed and just stomped in annoyance.

I just shrugged and went into the bathroom. When I finished taking a bath, she immediately went inside and deliberately bumped me on the shoulder hard.

I just ignored her and got dressed. I was eating breakfast when she came out of the bathroom.

"Did you wait for me last night?" I asked. She ignored me and just continued drying her hair. "The yogurt, it's delicious!" I said, causing her eyes to glaze over at me.

"Where did you learn that?" I asked.

"Why do you care?" She rolled her eyes.

"Make another one later," I said.

"Why would I?" She raised her eyebrow.

"You still owe me one, don't you?"

"And when did I owe you one?"

"You said you would pay for the ingredients you took."

"But you ate those!"

"Even though, you still said it."

"Aish! You're so annoying!"

After our quarrel, we went to the precinct. While I was working, she was first left there again to maintain her safety.
