Devour The Core

'Fighting truly is the best way for me to continuously evolve. My power now is equal even to Alissa who is a Mid-Level 1 Earth Immortal. And with all my other slaves working together against Barden and Elissa, those two don't have a chance.'

Chained Saber thought while he fought with Elissa. He traded punches and kicks with her while simultaneously glancing at the ground under. What was left of the city was nothing more than a large crater that spanned thousands of meters.

*BAM*

Saber sent a kick with incredible speed toward Elissa's ribcage, sending her body to be blasted toward the ground. As chained Saber floated in the skies surrounded by other Sabers and gazing coldly toward the duo in the crater, the Sabers could only nod their heads in an act of thankfulness toward the Immortals. If it wasn't for them, Saber would not have been able to increase his strength to such a high level.

One must know that even though Saber hasn't reached the limit of his bodily strength, he still found it hard to increase such strength when practicing by himself. He needed someone stronger than him, and with the multiple Sabers working together, even someone stronger than him like Barden found it impossible to kill Saber.

DRUM!!

But, while thinking this, Saber suddenly felt an intense heat heading straight at him. The faces of the Sabers couldn't help but change as they realized that at the speed with which the ball of flames came, there wasn't a possibility to dodge at all!

Chained Saber only smiled when seeing Elissa sacrificing herself to kill him as he poured a little energy into his katana.

WAM!!

In a show of bright light, Saber's body disappeared and reappeared behind the body of a mentally damaged Branden! It happened so fast that even Branden was unable to see. And because of this costly mistake, Branden was left shocked when he heard a voice enter his ears...

"Why do you seem relieved even when you're about to die?!" Saber's voice entered Branden's ear, causing him to be left in a stupor as his mouth formed an O shape representing his current feeling of disbelief and fear.

*PUCHI*

Saber's katana penetrated Branden's chest. Thereafter, a dark purple aura left Saber's palms and began permeating throughout the body of Branden. Before long, Branden's whole body was encased by the energy of Saber, as he then began devouring Branden whole.

It happened so quickly that even Branden who was under an illusion couldn't o anything. The illusion didn't last long since Branden was a Peak-Level 1 Immortal, and way stronger than even Alissa, but it was long enough for Saber to devour him!...

ARGHHHHH!!...

A blood-curling scream escaped Barden's lips. It was a scream that was amplified by his raw power as it went on to resound throughout the planet. It was a scream that busted the eardrums of most residents of the planet, and a scream that signaled the ending of this world!

It was also his last scream as in the next moment, his skeleton fell limply to the ground...

Saber's cold and hollow gaze then brightly lit up after feeling the strength coursing through his body. Unlike the souls he devoured, devouring a physical entity also increased his physical strength.

"My power...I can now destroy even a Low-Level Solar System...This kind of power was wasted on a stupid idiotic fool such as Barden.

My Immortal level strength while still being a mortal is enough, now the most important thing is to enter the Immortal realm and see what crazy level of power I'll be able to get." Saber said.

But when sifting through the memories of Barden, a smile formed on his face as his aura blasted outward his body and covered the whole planet. If one were in the skies, they'll be able to see the shocking site of Saber floating upward as he then shot down into the planet's crust.

Saber, with unimaginable speed, reached the very center of his planet before even a few seconds had passed! Where he appeared was a dark space that was way larger than it should have been, and at the center of it all was a massive 2-meter size blob of mushy golden liquid that exuded a type of holiness even Saber had never come across.

THRUM!...

"So, is this what happens when a planet reaches a high level?" Saber said out loud to no one.

From the memories gathered, for a planet to reach mid-level, it needs to have birthed multiple Energy Maneuvering, or Nascent Souls, while the only way for a planet to reach the high level, is for it to have birthed an Immortal cultivator!

When a planet enters the high level, a core that can somewhat protect the planet is then given birth to. At a high level, the core can either curse or bless an individual. For example, on certain planets, there is a chosen one who can surpass all others with either immense luck, or talent.

"The enemies of the old man were probably blessed by the core of something even higher than a planet..." Saber mumbled. But the reason he was here wasn't to sightsee, no, it was actually to devour the core and absorb all of its luck!!!

"Little thing, you had tried to write bad luck on me didn't you!" Saber uttered toward the core. The surroundings turned colder, hinting that Saber was spot on... He had felt something was off when he had entered this planet, but to think it was a core.

"Jokes on you, I am detached. Things such as luck and bad luck don't apply to me, hence the reason why up to now, I have undergone soo much pain. But, absorbing others' luck to work for me, well that isn't a bad idea." Saber said with a pair of hollow eyes. A dark purple aura began permeating the surroundings as a malicious smile formed on Saber's face.

The dark purple aura began seeping into the golden blob of liquid as Saber felt as if bolts of electricity were rampaging inside his body. Pieces of his skin broke off, revealing the starry void inside his body. Seeing this, Saber thought.

'It seems that this is the reason no one truly absorbs planet cores...According to Barden's memories, those who previously tried have all exploded into pieces. Even someone like me, a True Lifeform, would have exploded if not for my stupid and nonsensical regeneration!' Saber thought as his once damaged skin reformed and his strength once more began rising.

A golden aura began radiating off of the chains on his hands as Saber realized that some of the energy of the core had entered the chain, raising its durability, and also somehow making it turn into a weapon.

What was shocking though, wasn't the fact that the chain turned into a weapon nor was it the fact that the chain had changed color and become golden, but similarly to his katana that he could teleport with, these chains seemed to be connected to his very existence.

WHIZZ!!

With one thought, the chain unattached from his hand and reattached to his thigh. It was a golden chain that could move on its own!

WHIZZ!!

With another thought, the chain whizzed through the air and wrapped around his katana's handle and arm once more.

Saber smiled when seeing this, now he had a weapon that can seemingly become stronger the more cores he devoured!!!
