I am the Magicless Demon Lord

Henry Li, a prodigy military scholar, was serving as the Executive Officer on board a Formidable-Class Frigate when that eventful day came. When war comes to his homeland, a newly-promoted CPT Henry Li makes a daring manoeuvre that would have most certainly cost his life, had it not been for a very timely transmigration event. Transported to a new and foreign world filled with magic — by a desperate low-ranking demon lord — who summoned him to become her “hero”. The only problem is — he’s magicless. Armed with nothing but his trusty sidearm, his military know-how, and a new 'system', what awaits CPT Li in this new surreal world?

Interdimensional Transmigration.

The Multiverse Hypothesis suggests that our observable universe is simply one of an infinite number of universes that exist beyond our perception. These parallel universes may have entirely different physical laws, constants, and conditions, or they could be the exact same, or just a little bit different.

Currently, though, it remains a theoretical concept without any actual empirical data to back it up. However, it seems that one Henry Li has not only proven this theory but has even managed to travel to another parallel universe.

At the present moment, former Navy Captain Henry Li finds himself standing before a Demon Lord from another world, still unaware of his travel across dimensional planes.

"Greetings otherworlder, I am the Demon Lord of the 9th Rank, Yang Meilin, of the Shenwu Domain. What is your name?" the Demon Lord asked, her gaze condescending and stern. She lay on her side upon the grand golden throne, while her advisors lined up in ranks before her, with Henry standing in the middle of the aisle that separated them.

Henry entered a state of confusion for a moment  'Otherworlder? Demon Lord? The Shenwu Domain? I don't recall any of this in traditional Chinese religion!'. Henry cleared his throat with a cough before replying clearly "My name is Captain Henry Li, First Flotilla."

The Demon Lord simply nodded and asked "What were you in your original world? A great warrior? A powerful mage, perhaps?"

At this point, things were getting very confusing for Henry, who interjected and said "I'm sorry, mage? As in magic? I'm confused, is this not a hearing of my sins for my entering into the afterlife?"

Hearing this, the Demon Lord laughed. "So you believe that you've entered the afterlife? No no... You're still very much alive Mr Li. You have been fortunate enough to be summoned to enter my service as a 'Hero', a talented individual summoned from another world by powerful magic. You should be honoured."

Henry found himself for a moment in disbelief.  'Summoning? Hero? Magic? Isn't this just like one of those novels I read in my schooling days? This can't really be happening, can it?'.

"Why me?" he asked, still not quite grasping the situation. "Why was I summoned here?"

The Demon Lord thought about it for a moment. "Well to that, we are not sure. The magic is supposed to choose people with great potential to serve the needs of the summoner." she replied "In most cases, summoned ones are usually brought here during an event of certain death."

Henry thought back to the battle that had just ended less than an hour ago, about how certain he was that he would go down with the ship. His life on Earth had ended as intended by fate, and he had received a second chance in this new world, where he was expected to apply his skills from the old world.

"Fine," Henry said, looking up at the Demon Lord "What do I need to do?"

The Demon Lord smirked. "Excellent. You have made the right choice. For now, we must first assess your abilities as a hero." she snapped her fingers, and the five men from before appeared behind Henry, startling him.

"These are my Court Magicians, the Five Lotus Masters of Shenwu. They will be the ones to extract all the information on our powers and abilities as a hero."

As she introduced them, the five mages stood around him with the tallest one of them handing him a stone tablet.

"Place the palm of your dominant hand upon this artefact, and the magic infused within it will tell us all we want to know." he croaked. Beneath the hood he wore, Henry could tell that this man was of great age.

Henry held the stone tablet and placed his right hand on its surface when it glowed a light blue before disappearing. Looking closer, Henry saw that words were being formed on the tablet one character at a time.

'Magic - Hopeless' it said. The five mages stood there unsure of what to make of it, whispering to one another. "Maybe it's faulty?" "It can't be, it's the same that the Adventurer's Guild uses!" "Well, do we have another one?" "It wouldn't matter, it'll show the same information."

Seeing this hushed commotion, the Demon Lord Meilin questioned. "Court Magicians, is there something wrong?"

Hearing the voice of the Demon Lord, the five mages immediately turned to face her while looking at one another, trying to choose who would tell her.

"Umm... my lady this situation is not the most ideal for your domain..." the oldest one eventually said.

"What's the problem? Is he weak?" she asked.

"Well... take a look for yourself my lady..." the mage passed the tablet to an attendant, who passed it to the Demon Lord.

The Demon Lord took a good look at the tablet, before rubbing her eyes and taking another look. "This can't be right... 0 Magic? He doesn't have the slightest bit of magic at all? How can this be?" she questioned.

"I do not know, my lady. From my knowledge, even heroes from arcane-less worlds receive a great deal more magic than the average resident of our world during their transmigration, but I have never seen a living creature, not even a bug, with no mana at all!" replied the mage.

"He doesn't have any special skills and his physical strength can't even begin to compare to a legendary otherworldly swordsman! The only good thing I see here is his intelligence, but what good is that going to be when my domain is attacked!" Demon Lord Meilin yelled, frustration in her voice.

"I'm sorry my lady, this lowly servant takes full responsibility for this!" the mage swiftly replied and prostrated himself, in an attempt to appease her.

"Just tell me what to do!" she responded, this time no longer lying comfortably upon her throne, but standing in front of it.

While the mages and the Demon Lord went back and forth, Henry stood there with his hands behind his back. Things were not going as he remembered from reading all those novels back in the day, in fact, things seemed to be getting bad.

"Excuse me, is there something wrong?" he voiced out. The five mages and the Demon Lord stopped what they were doing and all looked at him.

"Your profile is of great concern to us... You have no magical ability at all!" the eldest mage said. "You're more than useless right now! Every summoned hero has magic, and you have nothing!"

Henry was stunned. Was he summoned all this way just to find out that he was essentially a worthless character in this world?

"Damn it! Why did it have to be you?" Demon Lord Meilin yelled, her face flushed with anger. "Why couldn't I have gotten a powerful mage, or a holy warrior, or even a damn healer? Why did I get you instead? Damn it all! Guards! Take him to the dungeon, I'll decide what to do with him later!"

Two terracotta warriors stepped forward and grabbed Henry but his arms.

"Wait! This has to be a mistake! I have to have been brought here for a reason right?" he frantically yelled as the two warriors dragged him down the aisle.

"Just shut up you magicless fool!" Demon Lord Meilin replied, as soon she was out of side when the warriors brought him outside the chamber.

...

Meanwhile, in a nearby forest, the summoned hero of the Kingdom of Eire swung his sword through an entire rank of terracotta warriors while his comrades, two female magic users, supported him with their magic.

"Wow! Sir Alex! You're so powerful!" they exclaimed in unison. "At this rate, we'll reach the Demon Lord's palace in no time!" the pink-haired girl said, clapping her hands.

The hero named Alex, originally a young college student and a weeb who watched isekai anime from New York, Earth, smiled. 'Demon Lord Meilin, I hear you're quite the beauty... I'll have you join me as the next member of my isekai harem! Muahahaha!' he thought, hiding his perverted smile.
