Chapter 7

I slowly opened my eyes and surveyed the room I found myself in. Judging from Lucas' last memory, he had suffered a head injury during a car accident. It seemed logical that I was in a hospital now. The whole situation still felt surreal to me. I mean, who would have thought that dying and being transported to another world would happen to someone like me? It sounded like something out of a web novel, yet here I was, living that very experience.

During my transition to this world, I had received 4 mysterious gifts. One of them was a peculiar item called the "musical library." Since it was the only thing accessible to me at the moment, I closed my eyes and tapped into it, instantly gaining knowledge and understanding of its contents. It was like a vast folder of songs stored within my mind, some of which had not yet been released in this world, or perhaps hadn't even been created. As I skimmed through the list, I noticed a few familiar tracks from the early 2000s, songs that belonged to my original world. While the collection was not extensive, it was intriguing to see those nostalgic titles amidst the songs 2010 and beyond. It's also important to note that most of these songs had timer on them.

Before I could delve further into the library, my attention was drawn to the sound of approaching voices. To my surprise, they were extremely familiar. It was none other than Izzie Stevens, Alex Karev, and Lexie Grey from the TV show Grey's Anatomy. While the writings had mentioned that I would be sent to a parallel world, I had never expected it to be the world of Grey's Anatomy, [The One Piece of white America. (joke ^_^)]

Izzie's surprise was evident as she quickly grabbed her stethoscope and began listening to my heart and breathing. After a few moments, she asked with a serious tone, "How are you feeling?"

I couldn't help but smile and replied, "I feel like I've just been in an accident." It was truly fascinating to come face to face with Dr. Stevens. If my memory serves me correctly, she left the show during its sixth season. Given that she was accompanied by both Lexie and Alex, it seemed that I had somehow found myself in the early years of her residency, much like Alex.

"Are you experiencing any headaches or dizziness?" Dr. Karev inquired.

"Not really, apart from this head wound", pointing at my head. "I don't feel any other pain or discomfort in my head. Actually, could you fill me in on what happened?" I asked, growing curious. Based on the memories I now possessed, it seemed like a day or two had passed, and their nervous demeanor upon entering the room intrigued me.

The three doctors exchanged glances before Stevens spoke up, "You were admitted due to a head injury. We also took care of your previous wounds and bruises from when you ran away from Mercy West. Honestly, I'm quite surprised that you're awake and seem to be doing okay."

"Why is that?" I asked, taken aback. Those weren't exactly the words you'd expect to hear from your doctor.

"You had a seizure yesterday. We were concerned about potential brain damage or cognitive difficulties, but you appear to be fine," Stevens explained, her voice confused at how such a thing could happen.

"I understand," I replied to Dr. Stevens. The idea of leaving the hospital while my new body was still injured didn't appeal to me. Unlike the previous Lucas, who seemed to always entertain the idea of running away, I knew that leaving now would be a foolish move. Besides, I wasn't overly concerned about the seizure mentioned by Stevens. Part of me believed that I had caused that event when I entered Lucas' body.

"Take your time to rest and recover. You'll be monitored and further tests may be conducted to ensure your well-being. The nurses will attend to you in the meantime while I discuss your case with Dr. Shepherd," Dr. Stevens explained.

"Alright, thank you," I expressed my gratitude as I watched the three of them leave. Grey's Anatomy was a great show to watch, although I hadn't seen every episode. I stopped watching after they killed off Derek, but now that I found myself in this world, it would be intriguing to see if I could change some of their fates. Lexie and Sloan didn't have to die in the plane crash; that episode was heartbreaking. And there was also the mass shooting incident in the show—I wondered if I could alter the outcome of that. I remembered a few residents added to the show who died during that episode. But for now, I needed to prioritize my own well-being. Lucas' body was still severely injured, and I was exhausted.

Feeling the weight of fatigue, I closed my eyes and let myself drift off into a much-needed sleep, knowing that there were challenges and potential changes ahead.

Meanwhile both Alex and Lexie decided it would be too time-consuming to return to their respective houses, so they opted to sleep in vacant on-call rooms provided by the hospital. Izzie, on the other hand, had to inform Dr. Shepherd about Lucas Grey waking up and feeling fine.

"I see. Did you find anything in those test results, though?" Derek asked after listening to Izzie's report.

"Not really. Dr. Karev, Dr. Grey, and I spent the entire night checking old medical records and scouring books about the central nervous system, but all three of us found nothing conclusive," Stevens replied weakly. "Do you think he was healed naturally?"

"I'm still unsure. The human body can be an extremely mysterious thing. Even aneurysms can heal on their own," Derek replied, deep in thought. After a moment, he continued, "We'll keep monitoring him for now. I'll have security placed near his room for the time being. The kid has a tendency to run away. Additionally, we'll contact Child Protective Services again in a few days when Lucas is healthier."
