The people outside are busy fighting on the land that will be rendered useless after 5 years from now while I am leisurely sipping my tea.
It has been two weeks now that I woke up from this body and this novel. At first, as cliche as it may sound, they thought I lost my marbles as I have behaved differently from before.
I am Safira Andra, the second daughter of Duke Gildon Somelian, the neglected one as they say. I have three siblings. The eldest son, Ranz Somelian, is the heir of my father.
What can I say, they are a bit traditional to the point that I feel going crazy in literal sense as I came from a world where technology is booming and successors mean those who have skills, attitude, connections, and assets. What I am trying to say is, in here if you are a female born in an aristocrat household even if you are the first born you will never get the title or become the heir.
Due to this fact, Ranz grew up to be an over-the-top character. He is arrogant, selfish, manipulative, and hungry for power kind of an individual.
The the second-born, Mafila, is a beautiful lady but with a twisted core. Since she believes that a lady's responsibility is to only marry a powerful person then enjoy the luxury after being the wife of an upper class, she has become complacent and a bit of vain. Although I might say she knows how to get the men around her feminine requests.
The youngest one, Finera, is a typical-type of a noble. The literal stereotype of the aristocratic youngest child of this world. She always cries whenever she is not allowed to do what she wants and to get what she desires despite her being a sixteen-year-old young lady.
Where do I fit? Well as for me, I am the third born, if I fit anywhere at all, who they keep reminding everyday that I am a picked-up commodity from a commoner's household. It gets boring now when you hear them everyday so I often ignore them but in a way they can not tell. Yes, I want to leave as soon as possible too, passionately at that.
From what I know, a seeker told my father and stepmother that they have to bring one more child in order for the household of the Duke to prosper. That time, the seeker specifically said that the child must be only a year younger from the second child of the family.
Since my stepmother does not want to conceive another child the following year, nor she wants to adopt, she agreed that my father needs to make a maid from their workers be pregnant. As if my father is faithful anyway. Therefore, it is safe to say I am a product of demand and not of love.
I even thought my mother will love me but she left after the Duke gave her a huge sum of money. After all these chaos, they asked the seeker again of how to maintain their status, power, and wealth. The seeker told them to have another child born by my stepmother so to keep the balance.
As my family needs to raise me, they made sure I grow up as a good bargain to be married off somewhere to a person interested in making me his wife, in which comes another title: A half-commoner.
All of my siblings have green hair and blue eyes while I have a silver-purple hue hair and blue eyes. My father has a silver-purple hue hair and blue eyes, while my stepmother has both green hair and eyes. Whenever we have meal together, my hair always stands out resulting to my family hating me more.
