Ch 5 The ball party

I woke up before sun. I was sleepy but Amy told me that I have to prepare to look beautiful in ball party.The ball was going to be held at night but still they woke me up early. It was unfair.

They did made my body shiny and at night, I bathed in scented water. I smelled sweet after that. She did my makeup and some other maids did my hair. My gown was in contrast of blue and green.It was beautiful and was decorated with pearls and jems. My shoe had heels but they were comfortable this time. They even gave me a diamond crown. It was beautiful . I looked like a real princess.When Amy saw me, she had tears in her eyes. She was getting emotional.

I thanked everyone for their efforts and went to ball. A carriage was waiting for me.It was huge. 

The carriage stopped in front of a palace. The outside of hall was decorated with lights and oil lamp posts were there.I climbed down the carriage and walked inside the palace. I was so nervous. My heart was beating so loudly. When I entered the hall, everyone was looking at me and started whispering with each other. I felt so uncomfortable. So much eyes were on me. I went and stood in a corner. Now that I noticed everyone was dressed to nines. There was a big chandelier hanging from ceiling and floor was red carpeted. An orchestra was here playing light music. Butlers were serving drinks. A huge stage was in the front of the hall. Four thrones were on that stage.I noticed Katty entering the hall. I breathed a sigh of relief.She spotted me and came towards me .

" Madeleine, You are looking beautiful." She said with an excited voice .

" You too, where are others?" I asked.

" They will come anytime soon." She said 

I nodded and after sometime rest of them also came.Everyone was looking beautiful.

" I am so excited to see the second prince." 

" Yeah, me too." 

Some girls were whispering about second prince. 

" What are they whispering about?" I asked Katty .

" They are talking about second prince. Well, I am also excited to see him. He is most handsome bachelor of the kingdom. He is like the forbidden fruit . We can see it but can't taste it." Katty replied.

" I know, I know...He is just divine. Crown prince is also handsome but his charn is almost magical."  Charlotte said

" He is playful and is not arrogant just because he is prince. He is kind to everyone.He is good at everything. But, he is exceptionally skilled at playing piano." Caroline said.

"And he is also our friend ." Rose said in a small voice.

" Friend.." I parroted confusingly 

" Yeah, he calls everyone his friend. In last year's hunter competiton he joined our group to hang out with.Everybody was jealous even the men were also jealous." Katty said.

We all laughed a little at that. I also want to meet that prince. If that's possible. 

" Royal family is entering." A guard announced. 

The king entered into the hall with his queen. They were looking powerful. Everyone parted like sea. 

" He is our king Lao de carventes and She is our queen Elizabeth de carventes." Katty told me.

They were followed by a young man older than me. He was tall and bulky. With his baby blue eyes, he was surely attractive. He has blonde yellow hair like queen. 

" He is crown prince Balder de carventes ." Katty informed again.

After them the second prince entered the hall. I was about to see his face but a girl came in front of me. Two more girls blocked my way. 

" He is second prince Alaric de carventes." Katty was excited while saying his name. 

" I couldn't see his face." I murmmered.

" Everyone is excited to see him. So, naturally they are getting excited." Charlotte said.

They took their position on their respective thrones.

The king said," Good evening everyone, I am pleased to see that you have come to this welcoming ball. I arranged this party to welcome princess Madeleine Lancaster of Macedonian kingdom. I hope everyone enjoys the party. "

Everyone clapped. I walked to front to greet the royal family. I was looking forward but I was aware of the eyes slicing me open. I stood in front of king .

" Greetings to the king and queen.May you live long." I said with a slight bow. 

" I am indeed honoured to be a part of this celebration. Thankyou Your majesty." I continued. 

" You are quite polite. Now, Let me introduce you to the crown prince...He is my oldest son Balder" he pointed beside his left .

" Greeting Your highness. It's an honour to meet you." I said.

" The pleasure is all mine princess." He said with a polite smile. 

" That is the second prince Alaric." He pointed towards his right beside the queen.

I was shocked to see the second prince. It was that guy.He was a prince. My eyes went wide. 

" What happened princess? " The king asked. 

I shaked my thoughts and smiled,"Nothing." 

That guy was smiling cheekily.

" Won't you greet me princess?...It's okay . I am honoured to meet you princess." He said with his crazy signature smile.

I bowed a little and said," Greetings Your highness." I was not at all pleasured to meet you. I was shocked. 

" Princess, enjoy the ball." The king said jerking my attention away from him. 

I bowed and walked away. 

I was still in shock. That person was a prince. I suddenly remembered the embarassing moments. I was so embarrassed. I even scolded him. I called him a worker. On the top of that, I had his key. I was so angry when he was smiling like that. He was playing with me, making a jock of me. A princess from another kingdom who didn't know anything. He must be laughing. I was ashamed of myself. After some time, Some people approached me and taked to me. After my introduction, people were interested in me. They introduced themselves but I only remembered their faces. My mind was stuck on that prince only. I was tired from all that thinking. So, I went to balcony to relax a bit. I couldn't believe I was deceived.

"Hey.." I heard that familiar voice.

I turned around to see the prince. 

" Greetings your highness." I bowed a little and said in a dry voice. 

" I am sorry. Don't be like that." He told me. I looked at him. 

He was wearing his crown and was looking beautiful. His eyes were shining like jewels. She was right his charm was almost magical.

"I didn't mean to hurt you .." 

When he talked, I snapped out and looked away. I wasn't angry with him. We were nothing. Until now, I didn't even know his name. So, I have no right to be angry with him.

" Your highness, I don't understand what are you sayin?. Please excuse me. " I told him and walked away. 

The king and queen was not there. They must have left. Announcement for first dance was made. Everyone choose their partners and I started walking to clear their path but someone grabbed my wrist suddenly. I turned around to see second prince had caught my hand. 

" Will you honour me with a dance?" He asked.
