Chapter – 31 New Skill

"I just want to know what improvements this skill will gain after I leveled it up." Thinking about it, Max had gotten to the inn.

Entering the inn Max was greeted by Lucas who was waiting for him. "Where were you, Max?" Lucas asked and seeing that Max's hand was injured, Lucas can guess it himself cause' there's only one place where Max could get injured. Fighting in the city was prohibited and Lucas was sure that Max wouldn't get into a fight here with others. Thus, leaving only one thing.

"You had gone hunting Beasts?" Shaking his head, Lucas walked towards Max to see his injury. If needed Lucas had to take Max to the hospital. "I was just going for Basic-tier Beast but I got into an accident. I'm Okay Lucas it's not a serious injury." Max wasn't sure how to tell Lucas that he was hunting in the Middle area, so he hides the fact from him.

"You don't have to go alone for the hunt, it's better if you're with someone." Lucas wasn't angry at Max for his action, he was just worried for Max's safety cause' he knew what kind of dangers lies in the wilderness. If Max got into an accident and lose his life like that it will be very devastating for everyone around Max. "Listen from now on you will go for a hunt with me. I don't want you to get into danger. Think about the attack that happened on the castle, do you want to waste your life without getting revenge on that Beast?" Lucas reminded the incident that was a horrifying experience for everyone that had survived.

".... That night is the reason I want to get stronger as fast as I can, I don't want to feel helpless again Lucas," after some silence Max said that while it was visible to Lucas that Max's eyes had gotten teary from reminding the attack. "Getting stronger is what everyone wants to do but no one should risk their lives in the process. It's always okay to take a step at a time, don't rush things Max or you will get yourself into harm." Saying that Lucas looked a Max with sorrow and left the lobby to go to his room, now that he knows Max is back at the inn, he can rest for a bit.

Seeing that Lucas had left for his room, Max mumbled "I can't Lucas, seeing everyone I feel like I don't have the time to take it slowly, there are already people stronger than me, and if they are not strong enough to defeat those Beasts. I have to become stronger than all of them and for that, I have to risk my life every time."

Max also left the lobby to enter his room, getting inside he didn't take a bath or order food. He sat there on the bed while thinking, about what he will be doing tomorrow. "Now, I'm close to leveling up the Dimensional Travel, I should keep using It even here." Max thought and used the Dimensional Travel inside his room to get from one corner to another. Seeing that he was getting Exp. this way, Max continued to use it until he felt tired and rested for a bit. After feeling fine Max again used the skill to keep getting Exp. and he repeated this process until a window showed up in front of him.

[Range of the skill had been increased, less stamina will be consumed and the user can make a 'Dimensional Ball']

Reading the description of the skill Max was elated that he can now travel further while using less of his stamina. And the last thing that had made Max a little confused was the 'Dimensional Ball' he didn't understand what it was. To see what it can do Max tried using the Dimensional Travel but other than feeling less tired Max wasn't able to find what this 'Dimensional Ball' Thing was.

"What is this? How am I supposed to use this?" Max thought when he didn't know how to use it. He tried asking the system and the window showed up.

[User body had become familiar with the Space energy and thus the user can now make a small ball from space energy. The thing this ball will touch will be teleported to another place.]

Reading what the skill was able to do now, Max was over the moon cause when he had leveled up earlier, he hadn't gotten any skills that he can use to hunt the Beast but now he had gotten a skill that will help him in hunting the Beast. Max couldn't help but use the skill right now. And same like when Max uses 'Dimensional Travel' a small space cracked near Max's hands. Seeing the crack Max tried to hold it and it worked. He was holding that ball but his hand was not affected by the ball.

The ball was fully transparent but when looked closely there were a lot of cracks visible on it and those cracks were giving it a round shape to hold. Max wanted to throw that ball and see what will happen. Opening the window in the room, Max saw a tree that was dried up, seeing that it can be a perfect target for his little test, Max threw the ball at the tree and the ball hit the middle of the tree and instantly that place had a hole of the same size as the ball. The area where the ball had hit the tree had vanished like it didn't exist before and the already dead tree that was standing tall before had fallen on the ground making a huge noise.

Max instantly closes the window and stepped away from the window. Hearing the sound, he knew people will gather here to find out the cause of it. Max was a little scared now, what if the ball had hit a human or something living, what would have happened to them? Where would have they gone or would it have killed them?

"Damn, this skill is going to be very useful for me," Max said while getting away from the window. After Max had left the window, some people gathered around the tree to see why had it fallen. One of the people in the crowd was Lucas, he had gone to sleep but the impact of the tree had waked him up. Looking at the point where the tree had bent Lucas saw that it was half hole there and Lucas was sure that the tree had been hit by a Special ability, more specifically a small round thing.

"Had an ability user come to this city? Lucas was worried that it might become troublesome for the people's here if an ability user started making trouble for them. After nobody found the person behind this little incident everyone left the place and get back to what they were doing before coming here.

Seeing everyone leave Max was relieved that no one found out who did this, "I have to try this soon on the Beasts. I can't imagine how easier it will be to hunt the Beast for me from now on." Max was looking forward to hunting the Beast now. Because now he has a skill that he can actually use for fighting, he was feeling confident in hunting Beasts. Before he had to only rely on his sword to do damage to the Beasts but not anymore. And after everything that happened today the day finally come to an end.

"Knock, knock, knock, knock"

"Wake up, Max. we are heading out to the forest to practice." Lucas said from the other side of the door. After waiting for a couple of minutes Lucas didn't get a response from Max and he decided to open the door to enter his room. Lucas was dumbfounded as Max wasn't in his room. The only thing that Lucas could see was a note that was on his bed saying, "Heading out to hunt, will be back at night."

Reading the note, Lucas sighed as he was amazed by Max's spirit. "That kid, if he had already gone there. I'll just meet him there directly." Lucas thought while he gets out of Max's room to head to the forest. Meanwhile, Max was already standing at the entrance of the forest. Looking back at the place where he had fallen yesterday and was saved by Bob, Max felt a little quiver but still entered the forest to hunt the Beasts.

"Now that I know that the rock skin Beast can give Energy Crystal to restore stamina. I'll get more of them if saw those Beasts again. For now, I have to practice using the 'Dimensional Ball' and see how effective they're against the real Beasts." Max decided while heading deeper inside the forest. As he wants to find a Beast of a different Tier to gauge the power of his new skill.
