The person was taken home and treated with a drop of the water of life.
The effect was remarkable. Bella, who had been on the verge of death, began to recover.
Her complexion showed more life and energy, and she slowly woke from her coma.
In just half an hour, her previously sickly and thin appearance had completely changed, and she returned to normal.
Betty cried with joy seeing her mother's condition improve.
"Thank you, Jaxon."
Jaxon gently stroked Betty's face, "I don't like seeing you cry. I hope you'll be happy every day from now on."
Bella woke up, seeing herself at home with her daughter Betty beside her.
"Betty."
"Mom, are you feeling better?"
"I feel much better, just a bit hungry."
"I'll go prepare some food."
Betty hurried out to cook, leaving Jaxon alone with Bella.
Though Bella had recovered a little, she was still very weak, "Who are you? What's your relationship with Betty?"
"I'm Betty's boyfriend. My name is Jaxon. You can just call me Jax."
"You healed me?"
"I guess so, using some... let's call it mystical techniques."
Bella had been worried about Betty being left alone after she passed. Now, seeing that Betty had someone who cared for her, she felt some comfort.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Betty's my girlfriend, and I want to see her happy."
Bella nodded, "So do I."
Jaxon found an opportunity to help Betty and quietly prepared 100,000 in cash for her.
"Betty." Jaxon quietly appeared behind her and hugged her from behind.
"Jax."
"Here, take this. It's 100,000 in cash. Use it for anything you need."
"Jax, I can't take this money. I love you for you, not for the money."
"I know. But think of it as a gift."
"A gift?"
"Yeah, and maybe you'll give me a gift in return." He said rubbing his crotch against Betty's ass.
Betty looked at Jaxon, flustered, "I... I need to finish cooking first."
"It's okay. I can wait."
---
After spending the morning sorting out things for Betty, Jaxon was finally done.
Bella was recovering quickly and would soon be able to take care of herself.
Betty was overjoyed to stay by her mother's side.
Jaxon, however, still had other things to handle and didn't stay too long.
Tonight, he had to visit Gwen's house, so he had to prepare.
Once everything was in order, Jaxon drove over to Gwen's house, arriving a bit early.
He rang the doorbell, and after a moment, a middle-aged man with a serious expression opened the door. Jaxon recognized him as George, Gwen's father, whom he'd seen from a distance when he rescued Gwen before.
"Hello, I'm Jaxon, Gwen's boyfriend."
Though George was polite, he didn't seem particularly warm, "You're early. Come in."
"I don't like being late."
"My name's George, and Gwen's mother's name is Helen."
Jaxon greeted both of them. Just then, Gwen came downstairs, visibly excited to see him.
"Daddy, I'm going to show Jax my room. We'll be back soon."
George wanted to spend some time getting to know Jaxon, but Gwen quickly whisked him away, leaving George without much choice.
Jaxon was led to Gwen's room, which was neat and tidy—probably freshly cleaned.
"Is this your room? It's nice."
"Jax, let me show you something."
"What is it?"
Gwen proudly took out a painting she had made, "I drew this. What do you think?"
Jaxon looked at the picture of himself in the symbiote suit.
"You drew this that night?"
"Yeah. What do you think?"
"I think it's great. You really captured my... handsomeness."
Gwen blushed but smiled, "I think you're pretty handsome."
The two of them chatted for a while, growing closer, before Gwen's father called them down for dinner.
George, seeing that nothing inappropriate had happened, felt relieved.
At the dinner table, Gwen sat next to Jaxon. The meal began, and it was clear that George wanted to know more about Jaxon.
"I heard from Gwen that you're from the East. It must be quite the magical and ancient place."
"Yes, it's beautiful. I'd love to take Gwen there someday."
George, likely because of his profession, was more direct, "Why did you come here? Even if it's for studying abroad, you seem a bit young for university."
Jaxon didn't hide the truth, "My parents had an accident, and I had to come live with my grandfather. Unfortunately, not long after I arrived, my grandfather also passed away."
Helen softened, "Oh, that's tragic. George, you shouldn't question him like that. He's Gwen's boyfriend and our guest."
Jaxon smiled politely, "It's fine, I appreciate directness."
Helen asked a gentler question, "So, Jax, how did you and Gwen meet?"
"Well, Flash didn't take kindly to outsiders like me. He thought I looked weak and easy to pick on. But Gwen, being the brave and kind person she is, stood up to him."
"She was just a girl, but she faced down a guy like Flash. I was deeply impressed by her courage and couldn't help falling for her."
Helen smiled brightly, "That's a lovely beginning—George and I met similarly."
The family atmosphere lightened, and Jaxon relaxed. It seemed this first meeting with Gwen's parents was going well.
---
After dinner, Jaxon spent some more time talking with Gwen's family before getting ready to leave.
George, however, received a call and returned with a sour expression.
Helen noticed and asked, "What's wrong, honey?"
"That Daredevil showed up again, stirring up trouble."
"Do you need to deal with it? I can entertain Jaxon here."
"No, it's a minor issue. They'll handle it."
George was clearly frustrated by Daredevil's constant interference. He'd only been around a few days, yet caused problems every night. Compared to Daredevil, Black Spider-Man seemed much more low-key.
"We'll catch Daredevil sooner or later."
Jaxon knew George didn't appreciate vigilantes like Daredevil or Black Spider-Man.
In the comics, Peter Parker and George often argued about Spider-Man.
Jaxon didn't want to start an argument, but Gwen was passionate about becoming a superhero now that she had powers.
Hearing her father's disdain for Daredevil, Gwen stepped in to defend him.
"Dad, I don't get it. Daredevil's helping people—why arrest him?"
George, though firm, softened his tone toward his daughter, "He's not a superhero, Gwen. He's an anarchist."
"I'll admit, he saves people, but he has no authority to enforce the law and doesn't follow protocol. His actions will cause bigger problems down the road."
Gwen argued back, "But he's helping! If it weren't for him, a lot more people would have suffered."
"Like Black Spider-Man saved me. Without him, I don't know what would have happened."
George was at a loss, "Maybe he's doing some good, but this isn't the way to do it."
Gwen was visibly upset, but Jaxon calmed her down.
"I agree with Gwen on this." Jaxon said, "Good deeds aren't exclusive to a profession. Anyone can do them."
"Of course, you have to be capable, but with great power comes great responsibility."
"In my country, we value these kinds of people. Ordinary folks step in to help, even in dangerous situations."
"Ordinary people can become heroes. And people with powers can become superheroes."
"I believe, Mr. George, that if you were in a situation where you could help, you would, regardless of your job."
George conceded, but he still had his reservations, "But Daredevil doesn't just happen to be there. He seeks out trouble and uses violence."
"His actions are undermining our work, leading to retaliation and bigger problems."
"He's called a hero, but we work long hours, get injured, and no one notices."
"It's as if all we do is sit around drinking coffee and eating donuts."
The two sides argued for a while, and Gwen left in frustration.
"I'll go comfort her." Jaxon said, following Gwen.
After Jaxon left, Helen took the opportunity to scold George.
Jaxon caught up with Gwen in her room. She was still upset, "Dad's never been like this before. I don't understand him anymore."
"If he knew I wanted to be a superhero, he'd definitely not support me. He might even try to stop me."
Jaxon could tell that Gwen genuinely wanted to become a superhero and help others.
He comforted her, "It's okay. We can keep it a secret from him. Besides, you'll be off to college soon. You'll have your own space, and it'll be harder for him to find out."
"Yeah, you're right."
"It's getting late. I need to leave soon. Are you really going to lock yourself in your room and not come out to say goodbye?"
"Are you leaving already? I wish you could stay longer."
Gwen expressed her feelings with a passionate kiss.
Jaxon also wanted to stay, but he knew the consequences if her parents found out.
"I'd love to stay, but you know your dad might actually kill me."
Jaxon joked, pretending to hold a knife, "You little punk, you kidnapped my daughter? I'll chop you to pieces!"
Gwen laughed, amused by Jaxon's antics, "What? He wouldn't go that far. He'd probably just arrest you."
"Yeah, that might be worse."
Their little joke lifted Gwen's mood, and they both headed downstairs.
"Mr. George, Mrs. Helen, thank you for having me over for dinner." Jaxon said politely, "But it's getting late, and I should be heading home."
Jaxon said his goodbyes, and Gwen took the opportunity to walk him outside.
They strolled along the roadside for a while, reluctant to part.
"Good night, Jaxon."
"Good night."
After a long moment, they were finally ready to say goodbye, "Jaxon, are you sure your powers don't have any side effects? I feel like I can't stop thinking about you."
"Maybe that's not a side effect of the powers. Because, well, I don't want to leave you either."
Eventually, they had to part ways. Jaxon watched as Gwen went back inside before heading home himself.
"Phew, meeting the parents is nerve-wracking." Jaxon muttered to himself as he returned home, finding it hard to sleep alone.
Suddenly, an idea struck him. He teleported back to the outside of Gwen's window.
With a gentle tap on the glass, Gwen responded quickly. She was startled to see Jaxon outside her window but immediately opened it for him.
"Jaxon, what are you doing here? I thought you left!"
"I went home, but I missed you too much. So, I teleported back to see you."
"I missed you too." Gwen said and kissed Jaxon directly, wrapping her arms around his neck.
The night was long, and neither could sleep alone.
After a brief moment of tenderness, Gwen snapped back to reality, realizing the risk. She quickly broke free from Jaxon's embrace and locked the door. Then she turned around and asked in a seductive way.
"Stay, Jaxon, please~"
