Chapter 49: The Far West: The End of the Sky, An Encounter with Zeus?

The Far West was largely abandoned, and beyond the grove of the Golden Apple Tree, moving further westward leads to the true end of the Far West.

This is a vast sky, where countless clouds gather, forming a pure expanse of sky reminiscent of the heavens in stories. This place is known as the End of the Sky, but it is merely a part of the Far West.

The End of the Sky!

That's its name. Once, the first God-King, the Ancient God-King Uranus, built his temple here. But when Uranus relinquished everything and ascended back to the heavens, he became part of the sky, leaving the End of the Sky deserted.

Over time, it fell into ruin and nearly vanished from everyone's sight. Under the dominion of the Titan God-King, few Titans ventured here.

"This is the End of the Sky," Hades murmured, floating above the clouds, observing the vast emptiness where only clouds existed. This was the legendary End of the Sky.

According to the location given by the two Ancient Gods, one of the five World Chains was situated here, within the former palace of Uranus.

Unfortunately, even as one of the four Primeval Gods of Creation and the Sky God, Uranus never knew about the existence of the World Chains. Despite his status, he was a third-tier Ancient God and unaware of these hidden artifacts.

"Divine power..." Hades prepared to step into the End of the Sky but sensed something approaching. He quietly turned, his form gradually vanishing under the concealment of his divine power.

Hades felt a surge of divine energy rapidly approaching. He was curious about the identity of this god. What deity would appear in the Far West?

Or perhaps...

Hades whispered softly to himself, "Zeus."

If his guess was correct, the approaching god was Zeus. Besides Zeus, Hades couldn't think of any other Titan who would come here.

Soon enough, a handsome man with golden hair, clad in a white robe, appeared, moving at incredible speed like a streak of lightning.

"The End of the Sky in the Far West!" He scanned the area, a smile curling at his lips. "Perfect, this is the place. If I..."

"Hmm?!"

He suddenly sensed something, looking around the End of the Sky with a contemplative gaze. At that moment, as a wisp of divine energy emerged, Hades revealed himself from his hidden state.

"Zeus," Hades greeted coolly. "First time meeting."

"Ha—Hades?!" Zeus was taken aback, clearly not expecting to encounter Hades here at the End of the Sky. Recovering quickly, he smiled and asked, "First time meeting indeed. What brings you to the Far West? Did you receive my letter?"

"I did," Hades responded indifferently. "But it was meaningless. I'm curious, what are you searching for here? What is this place hiding?"

Hades spoke calmly and directly, questioning Zeus's purpose for being here. Whether or not Zeus chose to disclose his intentions didn't matter much to Hades; he would find out himself if needed.

"Hades..." Zeus's smile faded, his gaze sharpening. "Whatever is happening here has nothing to do with you."

Hades replied with a cold truth, "Zeus, this world follows the law of the jungle."

Hades's words cut through any pretense, revealing the brutal reality of their world. In this mythological world, friendship, family, and love were illusions unless one held the other's divine heart. Betrayal was always a possibility.

Especially for Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus, despite being brothers, they were more rivals than allies. After overthrowing their father, the Titan God-King Cronus, they had become each other's greatest competitors.

If you saw a rival trying to obtain an artifact or divine item, what would you do?

Even if the item was of no use to you, you would seize it just to prevent them from having it. This was the dynamic between the three gods.

"..."

Zeus listened to Hades's emotionless and cold words, his expression darkening as his anger simmered. Sparks of lightning began to dance around him, representing his divine power as the God of Thunder.

"Listen, Hades!" Zeus's voice grew colder. "I'll say this one more time: whatever is happening here has nothing to do with you. Do you think just because you were born a million years before me, you're my match?"

Zeus's eyes gleamed with arrogance. "In this era, I am the God-King favored by fate. This is my era, not yours."

Hades responded with a grim truth, "How pitiful, Zeus. To be toyed with by fate, like a puppet on strings. Do you really think you're in control?"

Though devoid of mockery, Hades's words were dripping with irony, igniting Zeus's fury. To Zeus, this was an affront to his status as the era's true protagonist.

Lightning crackled and surged around Zeus, his divine power of thunder fully unleashed. He warned, "Hades, this is your last chance. Leave, or you'll face consequences. This place has nothing to do with you."

Hades remained unmoved, stating, "The law of the jungle. That's the true rule of this world."
