Chapter 14

Odetta

   The next day I was not doing much. I ate with Orion then he left for his study then I proceed to the library. I didn't get enough sleep last night, I am very worried about Ryker. Who is he? What did he want from me? This two questions has been going on in my mind for hours. I decided to go to Orion study. I entered the study.

'Margaret? I asked confused. She was standing in front of Orion while crying.

'What is going on here' I asked

'Odetta something bad happened to her. Her house caught on fire and all her household was killed inside' Orion said. Margaret was still crying like her husband died.

'Hm I see. Is your household not demons. Are you forgetting demons can control fire? And isn't your mum a witch, she can cast spells can she not? I asked. She stopped crying.

'Margaret that is true, how did your household die then. All demons are immune to fire' Orion said. I rolled my eyes, how stupid is he?, I thought rumors said he is the most ruthless king. I snort in disbelief.

'Orion what is wrong with you, you couldn't figure out she was lying, you couldn't remember that demons are immune to fire? I asked looking very displeased. 

'And you what is your agenda here' I asked

'Odet..' I cut her off.

'It is Queen Odetta to you, call my name with respect' I said glaring at her.

'Margaret why did you try to deceive me? He asked.

'Your majesty I am sorry it is just that I can't go back, I would be a laughing stock please your majesty, let me stay in the place still i figure out what to do' she said crying again. I rolled my eyes. She is not a very good actress. Well at least to me.

'You can stay Margaret have one of the maids prepare a room' Orion said and i look at him in disbelief. 

'Thank you your majesty!' She screamed going to hug Orion. But I ran and stood in front of him then she hugged me. I took her by her hand twisting it behind her back.

'Don't you ever try to touch my mate again. Do you understand!? I yelled. She flinched

'Yes Ode…' i took her by her hair and dragged it. She screamed holding her hair.

'It is queen Odetta to you' i said twisting her hair harder.

'Yes queen Odetta, I won't go near his majesty again' she said with a painful growl. I pushed her making her land on the floor.

'Now out and I don't ever want to see your face near my mate' i said

'Yes queen Odetta' she stood up and bow. Then she left the study. I turned back and look at Orion who was smirking at me.

'Really! I thought the rumors said you were scary and ruthless but you just got fooled!' I yelled. 

'Calm down Odet I knew she was lying, I am not so stupid to believe what she says' he said. I looked at him suspicious.

'You were acting like you believe whatever she was saying and why did you allow her stay in the palace when you know that her thoughts of me being queen are not genuine' I asked.

'Well Odet i knew you were coming to my study, I have guards that inform me of what you are doing. I wanted to see how you will handle the situation and she can stay in the palace as far as she doesn't trouble me. If she does i will banish her so calm down' he said smiling. I glare at him rolling my eyes.

'Don't try to test me again' I said in a warning tone.

'Okay queen Odetta' he said bowing. I laughed, then he pulled me close with his hands around me. I definitely need the hug.

Unknown Pov

A woman could be seen entering a dark room. A round table with chairs could be seen with a man and a woman seated facing each other. The woman bowed.

'Did you successfully enter the palace? The man said his voice dark and void of any emotions.

'Yes my lord. But Odetta is going to be a big problem, she is very smart and calculating it will be hard to fool the king with her there' the woman said.

'Margaret' the man called.

'Yes my lord' she answered bowing.

'You will have to get the demon king. All i want you to do is to distract the tribrid and the only way you can is with her mate. You will have to cause problems in their relationship. Now i know who the tribrid is. I know she is very powerful but her only weakness is her mate so you have to use it against her. And try to know what her powers are. Do you understand? The man ask.

'Yes my lord. And my lord I hope you are not forgetting  our deal' Margaret ask.

'Come closer Margaret' he said. And Margaret shakingly moved forward. He places his hand on her head.  A black beam came out of his hand. The beam entered her body. Margaret screamed trying to get her head from his hand but it was like she couldn't move her body.

'My lord! Please! It hurts!!' Margaret screamed. She was sweating profusely. The man removed his hands and Margaret fell on the floor trying to catch her breath.

'I just placed a spell on you, nobody can read your thoughts or enter your memory except me and that spell is not meant to be painful. But i made it painful so next time you will know not to question your superior. Now out' he said not caring about the woman breathing heavily. He only cares about the tribrid nobody else.

'Yes my lord' Margaret said. And she disappeared from the room. The woman who has been sitting quietly finally talked.

'You are going to kill the demon king, aren't you? The woman asked. The man laughed. His humorless laugh booming across the hallway.

'Of course I will, I am afraid the little hybrid is so stupid making a deal with me' he said. Then he continued laughing the woman also joining in.
