Even with the sky still dark, Jason already had his eyes open. He knew that it was Danzo's body that woke him up, it was a normalized routine after it was done for thousands of days. Still, Jason felt well rested.
With all of Danzo's memory assimilated, there was already no issue on returning to the normal life that Danzo led. As he was walking down the stairs, Jason suddenly tripped and fell down. However, at the last moment, Jason subconsciously focused chakra on the sole of his feet and balanced himself in the last moment.
"Holy shit! Hahaha... Holy shit!" Jason could not help himself from laughing in disbelief even though his nose was just inches away from kissing the floor. He suddenly realized that he was not dreaming and that everything was real. After laughing creepily for a full minute, Jason went to the kitchen and ate his breakfast.
Taking a deep breath, Jason stepped out of his house, leisurely walking down the road while curiously observing everything and everybody. He even had his sharingan opened as he wanted to observe everyone's chakra. The bandages covering his eye was not an obstacle as long as there is chakra in the surroundings, vision scope and range.
'Compared to mine, normal people's chakra is like comparing a lake to an ocean. The Shinobi's average chakra reserve has at most a fourth of mine. I guess Danzo was really powerful during his peak. Hashirama's cells are also very miraculous, it can even add a huge amount of life force and tremendous healing property. Too bad it cannot really increase longevity.'
Although it was good that he got to live again, Jason knew that he only have at most twenty more years to live. And even if he does live longer than that, he would probably be weak and useless. He knew that he had to find a way to extend his life span.
Thirty minutes later, Jason closed his Sharingan as its siphoning power was making him a little uncomfortable. Furthermore, he was still not that adopted to moving freely especially with his left arms and he felt awkward while using the cane. His left arm had been amputated for 15 years and only used his right arm. And now, he was forced to pretend that his right arm was not working, leading to his current situation.
Jason took more than hour before he arrived at Root's Headquarters. Although the Anbu Division was officially disbanded after the "Uchiha Clan's Downfall" that Danzo instigated, Danzo secretly kept it alive. And Danzo also knew about it, but he did not do anything.
Jason only sneered at the Third Hokage's foolishness. A sentimental old man who does not even know that he was screwing his own village by keeping Danzo alive. Jason knew that Danzo already made many enemies throughout the years of Root's opperations, Danzo was just too arrogant to admit it. Even if all the operations were all done in secret, anyone with brains would assume, thus creating more enemies for Konoha.
An example of that would be Uchiha Itachi. Danzo did not understand the saying, "secrets will be revealed with time".
To put it bluntly, Danzo was a very good tactician, however he did not know how to plan for the future. Initially, Danzo was sane man who would really do anything to protect his village and take the role of a militaristic Hokage. However, as he grew older, and even though he still maintained those thoughts, Danzo began to fear going senile.
He did not want to become another soft, useless, obsolete, and weak like he deemed his former teammates, Hiruzen, Homura and Koharu. So he began looking for external sources and eventually started making deals with Orochimaru. He got the arm and Hashirama's DNA transplanted to him. Then shit went on and his mindset slowly changed. He started making excuses for himself after doing something horribly wrong or something that does not really match his ideals.
That was when he put himself in the illusion that everything he was doing was for his village. But reality is, he was just doing it for his own sake and that he was actually afraid of death.
In the end, even though his body did not go senile, it was instead his brain that did.
Jason easily understood Danzo's mindset. Although the man was respectable, he was still a very evil and disgusting person. Still, he admired Danzo's patience and determination.
Anyway, there is no use thinking about those. If Jason wanted to live in comfort and silently find a way to live longer, he to do many things.
"Fu, call everyone." Jason said to Fu who just came out to greet him. This time, the young man was wearing his black cloak and Anbu mask.
"Yes, sir." The young man disappeared like a ghost while Jason just waited in the meeting spot. Ten minutes later, a group of cloaked and masked individuals were neatly kneeling in front of him. There were exactly 54 of them.
"Danzo-sama, Team Go, Team Han and Team Sho is still not back from their missions." Fu reported. Each team consist of 9 members, so adding the three teams on mission, there were exactly 81 men under Danzo's command.
"Mmm." Jason copied Danzo's way of acknowledgement. "Starting today, each team's quota will be reduced to one S-Rank or three A-Rank, six B-Rank or twelve C-Rank every 6 months. As usual, you cannot go over the required quota." Jason stated calmly. "However, you are also required to gather more extensive information on all the gangs and bandits inside Konoha. You are not allowed to cross the borders. Inform Team Han and Sho about the new rules."
"Yes, Danzo-sama!" The group replied in unison.
"Alright, you are dismissed!" With that command, all of them disappeared using Shunshin. Jason smiled in satisfaction. Danzo's methods to cultivate this Anbu Division were really effective.
Even though the Division was disbanded and his men were supposed to follow the Hokage, all of its members remained loyal and they would prioritize Danzo's order. But what Hiruzen did not know was that their complete loyalty was thanks to Shisui's Kotoamatsukami. Brainwashing and manipulation became a very simple task to Danzo after he got Shisui's Sharingan.
Kotoamatsukami is a dōjutsu that casts a powerful yet subtle mind-controlling genjutsu on the target.
The technique allows the user to enter the mind of any individual within their field of view, and manipulate them by giving them false experiences, making it seem as if they were doing things of their own free will. It is regarded as a genjutsu of the highest calibre, due to the victim being entirely unaware that they are being manipulated.
It was so powerful that it needed ten years of cooldown before the user can activate it again. However, for Danzo who had Hashirama's powerful cells, that ten years of cooldown was reduced to a single day. That was how powerful and potent the gene of Hashirama was.
However, that was not the only effect that Shisui's eyes had. Its main effects were actually to amplify the users genjutsu and could increase the users resistance against genjutsu attacks.
But now that Danzo is gone, Jason actually felt a little bit thankful of these powers that Danzo amassed. Of course, Jason also got rid of the idea Danzo becoming a a Hokage. In his perspective, it was a pointless position which would simply tie him down.
He got to live and enjoy a second life while being able to move, why waste it serving the people? Jason wanted to live longer and knew that the only way to do that would be Orochimaru or if one of his researchers manages to breakthrough in researching Hashirama's DNA.
As an old man who experienced and survived three world wars, Danzo had knowledge of countless techniques. He could not perform them himself, but at least he knew that there should be a technique that can maybe extend lifespan or something related to it. Danzo also had the inkling that Orochimaru might know the secrets.
Unfortunately, Danzo had already ceased contacts with Orochimaru after escaped. And jason concluded that Orochimaru would probably come back to take his revenge on the village. It was such a cliche plot for mad scientist character.
But what worried Jason the most was the young man, Uchiha Itachi. He was very dangerous man who Danzo acknowledged and feared.
"Let's just hope that he won't change his mind and come back, asking for my head. That would be a disaster." Jason kept mumbling by himself in his office. One moment he would feel nervous, then he would calm down and analyze things out.
After dazing around for fifteen minutes, Jason picked up the Bingo Book on his table and started flipping through it.
Profiles of people around the world who were considered to be a threat to the village were listed on the book. Their potential threat level ranged from D to S with S- Rank being the highest and the most dangerous. After flipping through the book, Jason listed out 13 S- Rank, 39 A-Rank, and 121 B-Rank that had their picture still not crossed out. Meaning that they were still alive. However, the number of eliminated targets were more than the active ones.
Some had their abilities listed down but most were partial and some even had question marks. The C and D rank were just weak fodders that Genins and Chunins take as missions so it would be a waste of time to even think about them.
Then Jason turned his attention to the paper work on the table. There were three piles one was the pile he knocked over yesterday and the othertwo was labled as "Academy Graduates and Qualified Genins" and "Chunin Exams".
'Hmm, a Chunin Exam, that looks interesting to watch. There is also that Yakushi Kabuto, I heard he had failed to pass three times..."
'But what is just what is that snake-man planning, sending Kabuto to spy on the village? Should I capture him and interrogate him about Orochimaru's whereabouts... ' Jason mused on his future actions while staring at the papers.
'Is he going to attack soon? If he does, what would be the best course of action?'
