11 Same Way Doesn't Work

"Argghh!" The moan of pain still sounded from the bodyguard with sunglasses, he was holding the arm that was apparently bleeding. He walked backwards with blood dripping down.

Tell me quickly! Who and what business do you have here?" Zay snapped, standing up straight. She really forced herself to sober up quickly from the rest of her hangover.

There was no answer from either of them. The bodyguards were still looking at each other and waiting for orders from the head. The head bodyguard pointed at the man closest to Zay, "Get him!"

Damn it. You guys don't have ears!" cursed Zay raising both clenched fists. She ducked as she received a fist from the opponent on her left.

"Hiaat! Feel this!" exclaimed the bodyguard on Zay's right. He launched a kick at Zay's body.

Zay blocked the kick with her elbows, she still standing strong as if there was no effect from the attack.

Zay grinned, "Is that the only attack you have? So weak!"

Both bodyguards were quite surprised, so they attacked simultaneously. Zay nimbly managed to dodge them, although she sometimes seemed to stagger as she stood up.

"Immobilize him, immediately!" growled the head guard. He was annoyed at how poorly his men fought. Even though he was fighting a drunk, his men were just wasting time. And one more thing that would astonish him, he must have fainted knowing the fact that Zay was a girl.

Kicks and punches hit Zay. She still stood her ground. In between their attacks, Zay saw an opportunity to land a hard kick to the temple, which instantly knocked out a bodyguard. Soon after, she punched her opponent in the nose with all her might. She managed to take down both bodyguard in one hit.

"Asshole! Beat him up, watch out if you fail, I'll beat you to death!" The chief bodyguard was furious. He mobilized all of his men, while he just stood there, watching the fight that upset him.

"Hiaatt, fight us if you're good at fighting!" shouted one of the guards as he ran towards Zay. He wasn't alone, there were 16 other bodyguards attacking Zay from all directions.

"Damn it! That guy is tough too. I wonder if he can still beat all my men? Ha ha," a confident laugh rang out from the head guard. He grinned and couldn't wait to see Zay lose.

"Bastard, what kind of attack is this!" cursed Zay in frustration. She was not one hundred percent in top shape that now felt her head getting dizzy thinking about which attack and target she would take out first.

And sure enough, Zay only lasted a few minutes against the 17 guards. Someone managed to kick his calf, she fell to her knees with her hands protecting her chest and head. Unfortunately that wasn't enough, a bald bodyguard managed to hit Zay on the head and knock she unconscious.

"No, Zay!" shouted Vern hysterically, as he watched Zay collapse in the crowd. The commotion from their fight successfully made Vern wake up, he ran to save Mazaya.

"Stop it!" Vern shouted in vain, he couldn't get close to Zay when the bodyguards didn't give him a chance to break in.

Meanwhile Jonathan who fell asleep on the floor felt uncomfortable. He was still reluctant to open his eyes, wanting to continue his long dream. Jonathan mumbled lazily, "What's this noise? It's disturbing!"

Jonathan would regret it later if he continued to ignore the noise. Unlike the head bodyguard, he was already laughing triumphantly as he cheered, praising his men, "Well done! Show that we're strong!"

Vern turned his head to the side after hearing the head bodyguard's exclamation. He squinted, feeling familiar with the person. Vern thought for a while, then muttered, "He looks like Ted?"

A second later Vern gasped in shock, he ran as fast as he could towards the person named Ted. Ted used to be his father's bodyguard, one year after Vern's father died he stopped working for the Vlodostok family.

"Hey, Ted, it's Vern. Please stop your men," Vern pleaded. He paused in front of the head guard to catch his breath, then stood at eye level and tried to remind Ted who he was.

Ted was not surprised by Vern's refusal, he also knew the whole story and immediately replied, "I still remember you well, Mr. Vern. You are also here."

"Don't mince words, stop them immediately!" shouted Vern angrily. He couldn't wait any longer seeing Zay unconscious and still being attacked by the guards.

Ted casually shifted his gaze to the center point of Zay's attack. He wasn't afraid of Vern's threats, he gave the order because his goal was already achieved, "Stop!"

The bodyguards obeyed, they caught their breath as they exhaustedly vented their anger at Zay. Right at that moment Jonathan woke up from his long sleep.

"Gosh, who are all these people?" Jonathan muttered in surprise. He sat bolt upright and immediately stood up, casting his eyes in all directions and was even more surprised to see Zay lying below.

"Zay!" shrieked Jonathan as he ran towards Zay. However, it was clear that Jonathan's attempt was blocked by Ted's men. His face hardened with anger, he snarled, "Move aside or I'll finish you off one by one!"

Jonathan attacked the guards, but before he could throw a punch, he was caught by two burly guards..

"Let me go!" Jonathan struggled to get away.

For a moment Jonathan became the center of everyone's attention. Vern was no exception, "Wow, where has he been! That sucks!"

"Take Zay to the car, get rid of anyone who gets in the way!" Ted, who was watching from afar, ordered. He gave Vern a quick glance, then turned to head for the stairs.

"Yes, Chief!" the bodyguards replied almost simultaneously.

"Ted! What do you mean, I'm calling the police to have you arrested, I'm not playing around with this threat! Hurry up and free Zay right now!" Vern snapped.

Vern looked quickly at Ted, he could only see the back of the bodyguard's head. Vern was nervous when his threat didn't work on Ted this time.

"Fuck you, Ted! Stay where you are!" swore Vern.

Ted stopped right at the top step. He could hear the running steps of the pursuing Vern now behind him. Ted turned around when Vern pulled his shoulders forcefully, so that the two of them were face to face.

"Sorry Mr. Vern, I'm now working under Mr. Roderick. So, you no more giving me orders," Ted replied firmly.

"Damn it!" Vern looked away swearing. He rubbed his face roughly after realizing one thing that there was no point in him reporting to the police station if most of the police officers were Jack's relations. Roderick must have taken advantage of that privilege.

"Roderick's that crazy bastard! Arghh, asshole!"

"Excuse me, Chief."

While Vern lost control, he tried hard to think of a way to free Zay. He was about to go crazy when he saw four guards coming with Zay's body asking for an opening to go down the stairs.

"Stop it, Ted. Do as I say, anything you want I'll do," Vern bargained frantically, he was forced to use the same method as he had with the bald bodyguard that time.

Ted smiled, "I don't need anything, sir. I'm leaving first."

"What the fuck!"

Vern clenched his fist, he stopped Ted from turning around. His fist managed to hit Ted's right chest.

"I said stop!" scolded Vern.

However, Ted didn't groan in pain which surprised Vern. Vern was annoyed, he attacked Ted repeatedly with both fists and kicks.

"Argghh, you're dead!" shouted a frustrated Vern as his stamina began to decline. Sweat poured from every part of his body, he was disappointed and at that moment the CEO's insults rang in his mind.

Until Ted finally caught Vern's right fist, he remained calm despite the many fists that hit his body.

"Never mind, sir. You're still weak as ever, stop because you're no match for me," Ted said. He parried Vern's strength with ease, then pushed Vern's hand back.

"Argghh! Stop you bastard, don't go!" shouted a disappointed Vern, angry with his weakened state like now. Then what about his promise with Zay to take revenge on Roderick, if Ted wasn't even interested in his treasure?
