"Just apologize to me, don't worry I'm not the gossipy type," Vern sighed while holding his chest which was still hurting. He woke up 5 minutes ago, so he could hear Zay complaining while calling his name.
Zay was surprised to hear it, the half-drunk man stood staggeringly, who knows how much liquor she had gulped down. Zay who was trying to keep her balance ended up falling onto the sofa again.
"Ha ha," Zay laughed out loud. She rubbed her eyes, thinking that what she was hearing was a delusion. Zay muttered, "I'm really drunk, how can a passed out person talk."
Vern was offended, he really wanted to get angry and retaliate for what Zay had done to him. However, Vern held back when he learned the fact that Zay was a woman. He could only curse, "You burly woman, damn it!"
"What did you say? Say it again!" growled Zay, who had sat up straight and was staring at Vern. The veins in her temples were twitching, she could hear Vern's words very clearly. Zay couldn't hold back her emotions, she quickly grabbed the opponent's collar.
Their faces were so close, only a few centimeters apart that they almost kissed. Vern swallowed his saliva out of fear, but tried to regulate emotions by maintaining his gaze. He wanted to challenge Zay at this moment.
"You know, I'm a descendant of Vlodostok who rules this country. Lower your hand or I'll cut it off!" threatened Vern with his voice shaking with fear.
For a moment, Zay's confident appearance seemed to weaken. She released her grip and laughed even louder than before, "Ha ha, this hardworking fool learned to threaten apparently! This isn't funny!"
Vern could breathe again, he touched the neck that was released from Zay's unrelenting torture. Be it verbally or physically, it made Vern think hard about himself.
"Yeah, I'm really stupid. No wonder uncle stabbed me in the back so easily," Vern said, confirming Zay's assertion that he was a stupid young man who was just a workaholic. He sighed heavily, sat down and picked up a bottle of liquor.
Vern took a drink, visibly trying to swallow the hot and bitter liquor. It didn't matter if the liquor would burn his throat and most importantly Vern could distract himself from the fact that he had been stupid all this time.
"Hah, lonely fool," Vern muttered again.
Zay fell back onto the sofa, not sure what feelings were dominating her mind. Despite being under the influence of alcohol, Zay somehow felt relieved after hearing Vern's statement.
"Hey, you finished my drink?" asked Zay as she lifting the liquor bottle. She peeked at the contents and poured it down without getting a single drop of the stuff. Zay chuckled, "Damn, it's really gone!"
Vern hiccupped, he who basically rarely drank alcohol was instantly drunk. His eyes were so heavy, he stood up while raising both hands and saying, "Relax, I have some good drinks for you."
Vern staggered into the kitchen, shortly then returned to the living room with a bottle of wine complete with a glass and an opener.
"You know, this wine was given to me many years ago by my grandfather. Grandpa said there was only one bottle of this kind of wine. So, take it!" Vern explained with a big, proud smile. He held out the wine bottle in front of Zay.
Zay squinted her eyes, still looking at Vern's behavior vigilantly. Perhaps because she was still semi-conscious, it wasn't long before Zay laughed as she said, "Ha ha, the Vlodostok family's taste is the best."
The two troubled men both sipped their wine in silence. They gulped down almost a glass of wine silently. Only heavy breathing and sighs occasionally escaped their mouths. Zay poured the second wine into Vern's glass while saying,
"It's hard to admit that I'm a woman, even though it's a fact."
Vern observed Zay without asking many questions, not knowing what was on his mind. Vern seemed to support his head, which felt heavy, with both hands.
Zay finished half a glass of wine in one go not caring anymore if she might fall unconscious due to drunkenness. Then she patted her chest repeatedly and cried, "This wound still hurts. Hiks ... hiks it hurts a lot."
"Asshole!" cursed Zay angrily, hitting the table in front of her. Zay's emotions change very quickly, probably due to the alcohol. She was crying now suddenly angry, "I won't forget this bastard who took away my chastity! He ruined everything and made me disguise myself as a man."
"You see, I won't let you live in peace, Abercio! Argghh!" screamed Zay in frustration. She went punching, kicking the sofa chairs behind her.
Zay's past revealed that she was a woman named Mazaya Lavina Palavi. She was a victim of rape by a depraved man named Abercio. The old wounds that Zay had been harboring for almost 10 years spilled out. She rummages through Vern's apartment furniture blindly to vent her anger.
"Touching story," Vern muttered, seeming to understand Zay's behavior in destroying his furniture. Vern was so drunk that he fell passed out for the umpteenth time.
"Well, he's already high." Zay chuckled. She shook head at Vern's drunkenness. She poured wine into her own glass, enjoying the rest of the night's silence in Vern's apartment.
The silence was only filled with the sound of a ticking clock. The clock hour after hour passed and the night gave way to morning. Zay's cell phone rang cell phone rang several times. However, the call was unable to wake up the two humans in the apartment.
Until there was a very loud banging on the door. Someone was deliberately breaking the door from the outside with force. One of them shouted, "Boss! Open the door!"
Both Zay and Vern opened their eyes. They both woke up simultaneously, but Zay was quicker to straighten herself up, walked to the nearest sink to wash her face and rushed to the door.
"Oh my gosh, how could I be so careless?" Zay grumbled while holding her head that felt dizzy. She shook head to reduce the dizziness. Zay took a deep breath and opened the door.
Zay opened the door wide and saw her men lined up with inexplicable facial expressions. Zay immediately got angry with them, "Why are you yelling at me? You can just call me! What's so important that you dare to wake me up like that?"
The faces of Zay's men were pale, they were all at a loss as to what to answer and could only look at each other.
"Ohh, is this what your Boss is like?" The satirical tone that was said by a man. The man walked towards Zay splitting the guard of bodyguards in black suits.
"No way, am I hallucinating from drinking too much?" Zay muttered with trembling lips, fear coursing through. Zay's eyes were hot, she couldn't hold back the flood of emotions flowing through her body. She gave in to the situation and couldn't stem the dark memories back.
