"Well, he is a good man." Keeping her expression neutral, Jin-joo took a deep breath and paused for a while. "I don't want to feel like he has changed alot. I still misses him."
Rubbing her lap under the table, Petra smiled, "Hey, your father hasn't changed yet. You two only had a normal misunderstanding that is common within father and daughter."
Giving her a weak smile, Jin-joo asked, "Just like Nelly and Mr Flynn?" When Petra retrieved her hand and composed herself, she remarked, "There's no normal misunderstanding, Aunt. My case and that of Nelly's is similar. Can you see?"
"Jin, in cases like why my family is far apart from me is because I am to be blame." Without waiting for anyone's response, he sighed. "I made mistakes in the past but your father didn't. He was bubbly with his family and you enjoyed most of your lifetime with him."
"Yes Mr Flynn." She nodded in agreement. "My father has never been so desperate to the extent of disowning me. Including my mom. And that's why I'm trying hard to fix your issues with Sebastian and Nelly's."
Vigorously nodding his head, Grayson chuckled, "There's no need for that anymore, those kids are going to hate me even to the last day of my breath."
"No! Don't say that." She frowned. "Do you really think that Seb and Nel aren't missing the fatherly love they deserve? Of course they still have conscience and a very wide space for you in their hearts–"
Cutting her off, Petra sighed. "But Jin, you saw what happened at the mansion earlier. Does that looks like he really wants to reconcile?"
With all confident, Jin-joo vigorously nodded. Of course she believed that one day father, son and daughter will reunite and start the family all over. "Yes Aunt, I do believe so. Seb and Nel are just trying to play back and pretend like they hate you but they don't. And that's why I say that they're immature."
Pausing for a while, she continued. "I know that I have no voice to say this but, fine, I can solve my family problems in a short while but what about yours? It's be broken for years and no one seem to standout and make amendments."
When Grayson and Petra glared at each other and looked away, she added, "All I want is a healthy family from both angle. Families provide people with an atmosphere in which to live, grow, and develop." Lightly slamming the table with her fist, she provoked, "But what am seeing is contrarily the opposite."
"Well..."
"Aunt Petra, you've been trying to fix things between your–mr Flynn and kids for a very long time now but none seem to mesh together yet and you know why?" When Petra nodded her head, she smirk, "Because there's no family culture established. A family culture is established by the parents and instilled in the children during their upbringing. That's where Mr Flynn lost it."
What could he say? Grayson quietly took his coffee and gulp it to half. Definitely, he knew very well that he is the cause and reason why his family is torn apart. He never did the needful has a good husband and a father.
"I want that healthy family which follows a set of strong morals, stays loyal to one another, cooperates, and works together to avoid conflict. An environment where there is openness amongst family members is ideal because minds that are open are more susceptible to avoiding conflict than minds that are closed."
Keeping quiet for a while, Jin-joo explained, "If conflict gets the best of a family, it has the potential to increase hostility and create remoteness between family members, however, if a family resolves conflict, it can strengthen and enforce the family relationships."
Hating the silence in the atmosphere, Jin-joo raised her brows and Grayson and Petra nodded in response.
Rolling her eyes over, she took a deep breath before holding Grayson's and Petra's hands in hers. "To the end of this crises, I suggest Mr Flynn comes to live with us in the mansion. Let's start from there."
"What?" The two, gasped. The thought of Sebastian breaking his father's head quickly reflect in Petra's mind.
"J-Jin, I don't think that's the best idea for–"
Cutting Grayson off, she retorted, "Mr Flynn, please." Joining her hands together, she pleaded, "Let's end this. Am tired. I can't stand to see a son throwing unpleasant words at his father."
"And made you think that will stop if he joins us in the mansion?" Petra asked.
"Definitely it's gonna work, Aunt. With us living together in the mansion, the conflict will reduce and the distance as well. From there, I'll fix think of a way to chime Nelly in." Jin-joo remarked.
"But am still scared..." Grayson sighed and helplessly shook his head.
Scrunching her brows, Jin-joo asked, "Scared of what? Of your own son? Sir, there's no point in saying that. You are his father, you have every authority and audacity to come in, go out anytime you like. Seb, doesn't have the right to question you in his own mansion and if he does–" Giving him a sweet smile, she tapped her chest with confident. "Always count on me. I'm forever ready to help."
Grayson breath a sigh of relief, "Thank you my dear, you have no idea how long I've been trying to sort this out with them." Intertwining his fingers with Petra's beneath the table, he shook his head. "I feel guilt of myself right now, yes I am."
"It's alright, you don't have to be anyway." Taking a sip from her popsicle, she added, "Starting from today, please join us. The highest Sebastian could do is avoid your presence around him but through there I can tell that he'll get used to the atmosphere under the same roof and things will start going smoothly for you guys too."
Grayson and Petra happily nodded with a bright smile before taking sips from their creamy coffee. The mysterious issues they've been having for years has just been quenched from the peak and gradually they know that sooner it'll dissolve and melt away.
