Chapter 37 Unprepared for the Invisible Foe

"We simply weren't prepared for invisible enemies," Mark said.

"How long was I unconscious?" I asked.

"Two days," Mark replied.

"That's understandable. You know what, we should be able to use the rest of our pills now since our Qi is stable," I suggested.

I sat up, still feeling sore all over. I took an Earth Pill.

Mark followed suit and also adjusted his Qi. While I had to wait for the next Light Pill, Mark could only take his Fire and Poison Pills combined.

That pairs well with my Dimensional Storage. My Earth supply shouldn't run low that way.

I showed Mark my new achievement. The clone was actually capable of handling simple tasks but had no consciousness of its own.

"Look what I can do," Mark said and disappeared.

"Huh?" I said, confused.

"I've hidden my presence. I learned that from your opponent," he explained.

Mark explained how he concealed his presence. By focusing on his Qi and manipulating his energy fields, he could make himself invisible to others.

Intrigued by his ability, I used my own Qi to detect his hidden presence. With my eyes closed, I sensed a subtle change in the energy around me and followed this invisible trail.

We gave each other a high five!

"Damn it, Mark, you're poisonous now!" I yelled at him. If it hadn't been me, he could have accidentally killed someone.

"My bad. I'm currently building a fire barrier to contain the poison."
