Chapter 31: The Weight of Destiny
I took a deep breath and began, "You know, that thing I told you about… I know about it. I was angry, very angry. Do you know why?"
The girls shook their heads, signaling they didn't understand.
"I wanted to live a rich and happy life, with my wife and kids, and die peacefully. That's why I gathered so much karma—to live a carefree life. But this world… it destroyed that dream. It forced me into the role of a villain."
I paused, the weight of my words sinking in. "After my first death, I tried to grow stronger, stronger than the will of the world itself. But in the end, when we fought, she destroyed herself… and the world. I was left alone once more."
I looked at the girls, my voice heavy. "That's how I died 58 times."
I sighed and continued, "But then, I was reborn for the 59th time. And once again, I gained a system. This time, it was the Demon King system, a different kind of energy, one that took time for me to master without destroying my own body. She—Ye Li Xeling—connected with me."
"They didn't like each other at first," I went on, "but they still cooperated with me on missions, through every problem. Even as I tried to destroy her. Even as I sought to kill her."
I clenched my fists. "I became a mage, but I still couldn't defeat her. Even when I was reborn for the 100th time, I still couldn't do it. But my feelings for you four never changed."
The room fell quiet, the air thick with emotion. "So, I want to marry you. I don't want to keep this from you, but I also want to destroy her—make her pay for what she's done."
I hesitated, then apologized, "Sorry, but I can't tell you how. If she knows, she'll kill me before I can act."
Looking at the four of them, I said softly, "But I love all of you. Will you marry me this time? I'm ready for the war that's coming. I have a new system, and she'll help me. With her ability, the Initial Voice, only the Heavenly Luck Daughter can hear me. That's why I tried to break off the engagement with her. It was the first step in weakening the world's will. That's why I'm making all of you fall for me—to help me defeat her."
Olivia, always the thoughtful one, spoke up, "Okay, we understand. But how are you going to help us when that world will self-destruct and destroy everything?"
I nodded, a plan forming. "For that, my third system gave me a technique—a way to create a planet inside a human body. That's why I've been saying I have a plan. And I need you four to support me, because not every heroine is arrogant or selfish. Some are innocent, kind."
I let the words settle, then added, "That's why I suggest a harem. You four will help me control it."
The four of them sat silently, processing everything I had said. The weight of what I had shared hung heavy in the room.
Finally, I spoke again, "Before you finish thinking this through, know this: I'm from another world. And I was sad to realize this. Raghav—he was kind and innocent, but when he became a sycophant, that's when he began to fall. I've tried to change his fate… and I'm still trying."
The silence that followed was thick. No one spoke for a long time, as if the dome of quiet was holding everything back. But after a while, they finally spoke up.
